@elliejaypoetry
when the rain came.
tides.
never.
even after you're gone, my heart still beats, but now to the rhythm of yours, rendering you only lost to me, never forgotten.
star.
and from beyond the moon, I will shine for you, brighter than any other star, across your galaxy.
thousand.
my heart could break, a thousand times for you, and every fragment, would have your name on it, bathed in blood, carved from bone.
flowers.
flowers blooming, in the middle of the night, just as I have grown, in the absence of your light.
blue.
the sun sets differently without you, the glow is gone, as is the gold, and I am left with nothing, but memories of old, draped in blue, reminding me of you.
rings.
your silence, rings louder, than our arguing, ever did.
yours.
I see myself, in the reflection of your eyes, a girl, so perfectly yours.
darling.
to know me, is to know the kind of love I give, and once I learn how to show you, oh darling, you'll never be loved the same.
Cool poetry. How long have you been writing and developing your style, and what inspires you to keep going? Is it personal, or do you draw that love for writing from the general world? Much thanks. You are not a drop in the ocean, but the ocean in a drop.
Firstly, thank you!!
And secondly, well, I've been writing fiction (a whole lot of fanfiction if I'm being honest) for a little over four years now. I decided to try poetry only a few months ago, just to see how it goes, and to be honest I was surprised by how natural it felt. I'm still very much in the early stages of developing a poetic style, between the short pieces I post and the longer ones I keep for myself, but I think it's slowly starting to show.
And my inspiration? Well, it varies. Some days I write because I don't know what else to do with my feelings. Other days it's because I have something I want to share. Sometimes it's because I want to feel seen. A good chunk comes from my emotions, but a lot is drawn from aspects of the world that fascinate me. Like people, for instance. Writing about people, their struggles, the mundane lives we don't get to see. It's endlessly interesting to me.
I hope you find this interesting, as I found your questions to be!!
Have a great day :)
better or worse.
torn between it feeling right, and it being wrong, but still I wait for your call, because, for better or worse, I love you.
battle.
I'm so tired, the constant battle, wearing down my bones, slowly crushing my soul.
pray.
none shall love you, as I have, and now I pray, that the pain of missing that love, will consume you.
flickering.
the light is fading, flickering in and out, as I sit and wonder, what is life could be all about.
monster.
I love you, as you once were, but seeing you now, I see nothing but a monster.
wayward.
so tell me, wayward child of the storm, why do you savage a lonely sea? what is it that you have to mourn?
