This is such a random question lol but in Tea Time sometimes you’ll describe the character as wearing cloaks/robes how do you imagine them? i normally prefer to picture the characters more modern which is just my preference so i was wondering how you imagine it to see if i can see your vision! i love fashion and i love your characters so id love to know. Amazing new chapter you did so well!! x

In my mind it’s based on the context and the specific character! If they’re out and about in the wizarding world, and especially if they’re doing anything Ministry related, typically it’s robes and/or cloaks (depending on the season)— unless it’s Lily, who I think probably nearly exclusively wears muggle clothes. If the characters are just chilling at home, usually jeans/joggers/t-shirts/jumpers/etc. I don’t even know if that’s book accurate, but it’s the way my brain decided it works 😂😂

Hi there! I was wondering if you were alright with people perhaps getting tattoos inspired by certain fics? I was thinking of getting one related to WSMB as it really impacted my life, however I didn't want to go ahead and approach that without any permission or knowledge prior! I totally understand if thats a no no, no pressure at all! Love your work ^^

I just wanted to write in and say thank you so, so much for your update to SFTOH. You have no idea how much it meant to me to see it. I completely understand how you feel about the whole JKR of it all, but what you created with this universe is so beyond her original work, it would be a shame to let that evil woman disrupt your beautifully queer story. I first read the series during the early pandemic, and the joy you brought me during an otherwise dark time is something I’ll never forget. Since then, I’ve reread the series a couple times. It’s one of those stories that continues giving. All that said, just know you and your work continues to be a light in many peoples lives. I hope you end up finishing the story! (But no pressure, of course!)

Hi!! Never really asked this before and I'm not sure since I read it YEARS ago but did you ever plan on finishing The Anchor Cast Below? I really enjoyed your work and still do!! If not that is absolutely fine though its always piqued my interest! :3 That whole series with Annie and Finnick literally changed my life and your writing was incredible! i had just read your ‘day in july’ one shot. omg. that was beautiful i have read all your deleted scenes and such and this was one is by far my favourite. Caden rowle has a very special place in my heart which i can’t even put into words and i think he’ll stick with me for a long, long time. your writing is a masterpiece (i’m not sure if you wrote this after you stopped Tea Time or during it) but nevertheless all the little easter eggs were adorable. I was pleased to hear more about Caden’s home life as it played such a role into the last part of SFTOH and Harry asking Caden if he will be safe BROKE ME. I know you’ve used Harry and Caden as a mirror before and a way to show history repeating itself so i hope there will be no more mirrors and all deatheater children get the happiness and fulfilling life they deserve and i’m so happy we got to see that for Caden - Harry was so right saying how far he had come and how far we know Caden will go

Yeah ff.net is definitely not as user friendly as it seemed back in the day 😂😂 I’m eventually going to move (mostly) everything over to ao3 but just haven’t had a chance yet! I’ll move Inside the Ward first thing when I sit down to do it, though!

Short answer: On and off over the years! Long answer: It's complicated (meandering rant under the cut)

There have been many times over the years that I've nearly picked it back up and finished it, but I struggle morally with it tbh— on the one hand, Tea Time is “my” universe, something I poured tons of time and thought and effort into, with loads of OCs I’d love to be able to finish arcs for…but on the other hand, I don’t know how I feel ethics-wise on pouring more content into things associated with JKR. I go back and forth with it because obviously my lil fic isn’t lining her pockets in any way, but there’s just such a dark cloud over all of it now, and I wouldn't want to associate myself with any her hateful viewpoints. There’s plenty to be said for “death of the author” viewpoints, and I tend to think the “pitchforks blazing”* way some approach this issue is probably the least effective way to do it, but it's just something I have to mull over for myself (I say all this just to be honest and forthcoming, NOT to start a debate with anyone).

*I'm speaking specifically about the new HBO show and the extreme aggressiveness of social media's response to it when I reference "pitchforks blazing". It's not my place or expertise to dictate how society (specifically within social media spaces) respond to things, and I'm not interested in getting deep into debates on this topic, but I think there's something to be said as a whole regarding the benefit of "proactive" responses over reactive responses. I can't help but wonder how much would be different if instead of people on social media relentlessly creating a 'if you engage whatsoever with the preview of this show you're an evil person who deserves to rot in hell' culture versus if the larger hp audience (of which there is a massive one, and while younger generations probably don't understand it the same way millennials do, HP was an intrinsic cultural event for that gen and never "really" belonged to JKR at its core) USED the collective ownership of HP to actively do good in spite of JKR. Ex: a campaign to donate directly to Transgender Law Center, Point of Pride, Trans Lifeline, etc. each episode that drops. Would the total amount of donations by the end of the show top what she nets from HBO for the show? Of course not. But would it amount to significant money that those organizations otherwise wouldn't have (money they could really use right now), bring awareness to the issue, AND in a way be using JKR's own IP to support what she's actively hurt? Yeah. People have been pitchforking JKR for years now, and she's still rich and successful, and that's not going to change. HBO Max is not going to go bankrupt because they're doing this series, and the show will probably be pretty successful overall. That's just the reality. It just seems like, collectively, there are more useful and impactful things that could be done in response to this issue, but that requires nuanced thought and way more effort, intention, and organization than black-and-white keyboard-warrioring.

honestly Lily is also my favourite! I like how she knows what she wants and is so independent. hers and Caden's relationship is my favourite from Tea Time, half the time when I reread it I honestly search for Lily or Lulu and just reread her portions.

I honestly don't understand the hate for her, she's the best and I love reading about her and Caden. And the twins are so amazingly funny! I would've loved to see them getting back their magic and being in Hogwarts ♥️

Thank you so much! Looking back half a decade later, I can see why LLP annoyed people, BUT that was really always the point. She wasn’t meant to be likable at the start (which I personally feel was obvious within the narrative re: al and rose and MANY others regularly calling her out). To me, the best thing about her character was the fact that she got to start out bratty and wild and ridiculous (like many teens are lmao), and gradually evolve into something deeper. I still stand my characterization choices and I would do it all the same today if I rewrote the whole thing 🤷🏻‍♀️ I feel (maybe somewhat naively?) that if some of the PYCIR/early STFTOH readers who were so pissed about her had stuck through to the end*, they would’ve come around to her character progression. But different strokes for different folks I suppose! I’m glad you enjoyed it 🥹🩷

Interesting question! Probably— especially as time goes on and she gets stabler/her son gets older. It’s bound to come up at some point, but I like to think that, when it finally does, she’s in a headspace to manage it (as well as something like that could be managed, anyway)
