gentle reminder- your grades don’t define you. you’re in an incredible, beautiful, amazing person and that has nothing to do with your success or your merit. you deserve everything you want, friend.
You made it to the end of this year and I am proud of you. Don't be so hard on yourself, please.
A year ago, sander truly raised the standard for apologizes. He was like cutesy small drawings.... nah I going to paint a mural on the side of building by robbe favortie places to hang out.

☁️ 10 tips on studying when your motivation’s nowhere to be found ☁️
i got an ask about this yesterday and decided to turn my reply into a post because having trouble focusing when you’re super unmotivated is really common, so i thought more people might find this helpful :) buckle up kiddos, this is gonna be a long one!
1. i want you to remember that this is a universal experience.
every student out there struggles like hell sometimes, and that’s completely normal; you’re not a machine and that means you can’t possibly churn out work 24/7 without burning out. so try not to beat yourself up too much okay, you’re doing great!
2. take a deep breath and identify the reason you’re feeling like this
are you burnt out because of stress or overworking yourself? are you overwhelmed by the amount of tasks on your plate? is there a particular assignment or exam scaring you to the point where you don’t want to start studying? these are all normal reasons for lack of motivation and knowing the why will help you figure out the how - you gotta know the problem to solve it.
3. i know you feel like you’re months behind, but start small
small achievements accumulate. repeat this sentence to yourself daily, write it on a sticky note and keep it on the wall above your desk (it’s exactly what i did). break up daunting tasks into smaller ones; got a billion formulae to know by heart? memorise 3 every day (you’ll have memorised more than 20 by the end of the week!). got a long chapter to study? divide it into smaller chunks and just focus on 1-3 pages a day. slow and steady, you can do it

I love how dark academia is just the classic lit fandoms thinly veiled attempt at being aesthetic.

This guy have goods tips about it! It helps a lot to understand how the system kill our curiosity and passion and how we can take that passion back!
happy 21:21 to the dead tag 😂
Do y'all remember being a kid and trying to read in the car while it was dark outside and your parents wouldn’t let you turn on the light so you would try to grab snatches of sentences when you passed by street lights
expectation: i leave these browser tabs open, and they serve as a reminder to do the activities on those sites
reality: i become very good at ignoring browser tabs

Day 18 of the 20 day back-to-school challenge
18. Share something you’re super passionate about!
Academically probably queer culture in literature and anthropology it’s fascinating to me, especially as a part of the lgbt+ community. Outside of academia it’s black lives matter and equality. Please do all you can to help every person of colour, it’s disgusting how mistreated they are. If you haven’t already please sign this petition x justice for Breonna Taylor http://chng.it/XWgMQYZL9s

13. letter a quote.
I tried, I’ve never properly done lettering before I’d love to but just never got into it properly. This is a quote from Virginia Woolf - “In case you ever foolishly forget, I’m never not thinking of you”. It was used in one of my favourite shows so yeah.
14. Study break!
15. What has been your biggest challenge of the new school year so far?
Academically, probably my biology test. I’m not sure about how I did but my teacher apologised before the lesson for the questions so. Besides that it’s been actually being in school with everything going on, my towns in local lockdown so I get quite scared of what could happen especially when I know vulnerable people.
16. What’s your inspiration?
A lot of my inspiration is to just better myself. I cannot think of a specific person or thing but a want to just do better and be better is what drives a lot of what I do.
17. What’s your aesthetic?
I’ve had a lot of people tell me they think my aesthetic is like dark academia. I’d agree with that but it’s also a weird mixture of alternative fashion and ideas as well. So really not completely sure. When I was making the digital planner I was planning on going quite minimalistic but I didn’t like that so i busted out the old bullet journal and am planning for a dark academia/vintage/artsy kind of thing.
I really focused on just getting homework done today. It’s been a dire few days but i’m feeling better so am back! My UCAS process is nearly done which is so terrifying. I’m still struggling to believe it

Day 11 of the 20 day back-to-school challenge?
11. How do you take notes?
It largely depends on the class, biology and chemistry have booklets so in class i work in those then at home in goodnotes, for psychology i use the cornell notes method during class then write up later, and for english i just try to jot everything down and organise it based on themes.
These are some old notes from lockdown on differential association, we went back over this in class today.
