Sketchbook 48
Neck anatomy sketch, closing my 4-piece sketchbook series. I know character design studies get more attention, but I’ve always found the face and neck muscles beautiful.

Sketchbook 48
Neck anatomy sketch, closing my 4-piece sketchbook series. I know character design studies get more attention, but I’ve always found the face and neck muscles beautiful.
Sketchbook 47
Face anatomy sketch, this time a random mix of bone, muscle and organs, trying to keep it from looking gory or too realistic.
Sketchbook 46
Face anatomy sketch, this time focusing on the bones. I wasn’t super precise with the eye socket area since I left the eye in. I wanted a different angle from the last one, not just frontal, and ended up making things trickier with a low angle.
Sketchbook 45
Face anatomy sketch. Anatomical illustration has been with me ever since I first discovered De Humani Corporis Fabrica. Recently I’ve been drawing more in an anime direction, but this blend of realism and anime feels much closer to my natural style and almost like reconnecting with my roots.
Sketchbook 44
Random sketches of Haru, this time it was easier to connect her main pose with her Empress tarot card, of course with Morgana by her side. I made the couch from the Velvet Room just so that blue would pop out against all the red.
Sketchbook 43
Random sketches of Futaba. I love her AKG headphones, usually I’m more into Sennheiser, but she makes me wanna get some AKGs. This character dresses so well it makes me wanna have her accessories. This time it’s hard to relate her to the Hermit tarot card design, so I went with a more freeform approach.
Sketchbook 42
Random sketches of Ann, this time with a more symmetrical composition to make it look a bit like the Lovers card from the Marseille tarot. I wasn’t sure whether to add fire, but then it would throw off the balance compared to the previous sketch of Ren.
Sketchbook 41
Random sketches of Ren, just for fun. I wanted it to have a bit of that Fool card vibe from the Marseille tarot deck — that’s why Morgana shows up in cat form. It’s nowhere near the kind of feeling Shigenori Soejima’s art gives me, but hey, I had to give it a shot. I absolutely loved Persona 5!
