Just when I had thought the biggest secret my sister could ever hide from me was having magical ice powers, I was violently proven wrong. Ever since the great thaw, Elsa and I had an open door policy. I was pretty sure she was regretting that now. Making a squeak, I turned on my heels and went right back out through the door in an instant.
Oops!
As I walked quickly away I was aware of quick rustling behind the door. Oh god, oh god, please do not come after me. Just stay there, pretend this didn’t happen. Don’t come after me; I do not want to have this conversation right now.
“Anna, wait!”
Shit, shit, shit! Keep walking, pretend you don’t hear her.
“Anna! Please?”
I froze at the tone of her voice. It was the unmistakable pitch of fear. Then it hit me. This wasn’t just an awkward thing for her, this was terrifying as well. I couldn’t imagine having to hide and be afraid of so much of who I am. It seemed there was always something about my sister that she felt, if discovered would bring down the world in fire and brim stone. Suddenly my life of boredom paled in comparison to all that this woman, my sister, had gone through in just 21 years of life. I really was selfish.
I turned around softly smiling at her, hoping that she would get the hint that I wasn’t mad, and I wasn’t disgusted, that I loved everything about her. There wasn’t anything she could do that would make me stop. To my dismay, it didn’t seem to help much. Her fear was so far along now that her arms were drawn into her chest. Fortunately, ice and snow had yet to make an appearance.
“I am so sorry, I should have told you. I- I just didn’t know how to say it. What to even call it. Please, I know, I’ve messed this all up again… Anna, say something?”
I am such an idiot! I hadn’t realized how long I had been just staring. I blinked a few times, tucking a strand of hair behind my ear.
“It’s okay Elsa; it’s none of my business.” I smiled again and turned to leave, but felt a hand tighten around my wrist.
“Are you sure?” Her bottom lip slipped between her teeth. “Because if it makes you uncomfortable… I will stop. “
I suddenly found myself confused.
“Wait. What? Why would that stop you? You would really not be with someone because of my feelings?”
“Well, it’s not just that… I thought you’d be weirded out b-because…”
“Because?” I pressed. Why couldn’t she just say it. She was in bed with a woman. Whatever!
“Els-Queen Elsa… is everything alright?” Came a voice just a few feet away. I looked up… and then I saw it. This girl looked just like me.
I have a challenging sort of one. It's sort of AU. I don't know if you'd bother to write something that's not Elsanna. Anyway, Elsa had a daughter who had her ice powers. She becomes depressed upon finding out because that's exactly the reason why she didn't want to have a child in the first place. Overcome with her guilt and stuff, she runs away, leaving her kid with Anna. Years later, Elsa's daughter stumbles on her ice castle and sees the famed Snow Queen and asks her for advice on her powers

Twin Snowflakes
It had been 15 years since she had left Arendelle. 15 years that she left her three year old daughter with her younger sister and ran away like a coward. It was only 3 days before she had realized she should go back, but her pride wouldn’t allow it. And after the first few months that turned into anger. Why had Anna not come after her this time? Where was she with her ice master prince to save her from her stupid self yet again? Perhaps it was because she was left to care for and think about a 3 year old, and had no time to baby sit a grown woman. The same woman should be the one telling her daughter about her powers, and explaining them and how they worked to her. That burden should not have fallen to Anna on top of running a kingdom.
Now in her early forties all feelings on the matter had faded into a bitter numbness. So, when a young teenage girl with blazing red hair and braided pigtails appeared in her ice castle she wasn’t expecting the rush of emotions that came back with the force of an avalanche.
Elsa moved quickly down the icey steps.
“Anna!?” Her eyes grew large as she stared. Could the last 15 year all of been a dream? Did she only imagine it? Anna had come back for her after all!
Anna looked at her as if she was insane. Maybe she was. The red head then stood up straighter and looked at her with more confidence. Her eyes becoming hard. She had never seen such a look on her younger sister before, and in that moment Elsa realized that it wasn’t actually her sister.
“No, mother it’s me. Malin.”
Elsa froze on the stairs. She bit her lip and her arms wrapped around herself. Snow began to fall around her.
“I-I … You must go-”
“I refuse!”
“Get out! Now!”
The wind picked up quickly and more angry retort died in Elsa’s throat as she realized it wasn’t just her adding to the wind and snow now accumulating in the palace.
“No! You owe me! You just left me with this ability with no word! The least you could do is listen!” She tucked a strand of hair behind her ear. Anna. It was so surreal for Elsa. How could she look so much like her sister, have so many of the same mannerisms? It was if the girl had only inherited the cold icy curse from Elsa and nothing more.
The storm lessoned back to a light snow. “Fine, speak.”
Her daughter took a deep breath and then launched into a speech- no, a ramble- it was if this girl was a clone of Anna in every way. Elsa couldn’t stand it any further. She spun around flicking her cloak out of the way and began ascending back up the stairs.
That didn’t stop Ann-Malin… from following her and continuing with her rambling.
“Didn’t you love me?”
“Was I not good enough?”
“Did you not love Aunt Anna?”
“Why were you so afraid?”
“Why couldn’t you have just trusted that we could do this together?”
The questions just poured down onto Elsa. The girls odd positivity in such an impossible situation again reminded her of her sister. She briefly wondered if she still had the same great outlook on life, or if Elsa's abandonment stripped her of that too.
“What is your point? Will you be reaching it any time soon? Yes, I am a damn coward. Is that what you want? Or is it that you want me to teach you to control …this.” The word ‘this’ was spat out. How could she have even agreed to sleep with her king? Their arrangement was platonic with the understanding that they would not have children. That the heir would be produced by Anna. However, on a day where her loneliness got the better of her, Elsa had given into the man’s subtle hints that he found himself wanting more than just a business arrangement. It had only happened once but the queen had apparently been quite fertile.
It wasn’t her lack of love that made Elsa regret having a child, it was her abundance of love for her that made it a regret instead of a joy. She never wanted to chance her powers being handed down to any of her children. Being pregnant was some of the most horrifying ordeals for her, at least until she felt Malin kick for the very first time. The fear didnt return until the girls third birth day, when Elsa gave her vanilla cake instead of chocolate. It had suddenly frozen over on the plate and as Elsa looked at it in horror, the three year old merely giggled, pleased with her handy work.
Malin, no loner three years old, looked at her again as if she was insane.
“N-no. I mean. Aunt Anna taught me how to control it. I just, I want to know why? Why would you just leave me?”
“S-She… taught you?” When a simple nod came from the girl, tears sprung from Elsa’s eyes. Her sister hadn’t just raised the girl, she had successfully taught her control. Was there anything Anna couldn’t do?
Her daughter approached her with concern in her eyes. Elsa held out a hand to stop her.
“No, don’t. It doesn’t matter why, Malin. The only thing that matters-” The blonde’s voice cracked. “-is Anna is truly your mother. You should have never come here. I am nothing but an old hag with a frozen heart. For all the amazing things she was capable of, she was never able to unfreeze it. Just go back to Anna… go to her and call her mom, tell her… tell her you love her and forget about me.”
“I-I can’t… She’s dead. That was the other reason I came… I am not of age… and I just thought- Well before she died she told me I had to get you. It was her dying wish.”

Aurthur’s Note: Elsa didn’t know, but Anna did: Malin is their daughter. Both were in loveless marriages(Anna didn’t marry Kristoff), and Anna wanted to make sure the heir to Arendelle was made with love. She went to the trolls. Since Elsa is technically her true love, she was the only candidate(Anna was actually glad as she was in love with Elsa but never told her).
Pretty pretty please some unrequited elsanna. Elsa being terribly in love with Anna and her psychological workings therein.

Her outburst was a complete accident. It was also too specific in order for her to pass it off as anything but exactly what she meant. When the red head looked at her with pity and reached out to her literally as well as with her words telling the blond that she didn’t feel the same, Elsa had flinched away tears blurring her vision.
The queen thought that disgust would be the worst look and that rejection the worst reaction, both she had been prepared for. She was not prepared for the look of pity though. She could not take it. She however promised herself she would not run away and lock her sister out again no matter what happened. Above all they were sisters, and that would always be the most important thing to Elsa.
Her feet stayed rooted to the ground but she closed her eyes tightly. The pain seemed to lessen if only slightly when she couldn’t see the younger woman.
“I’m so sorry-“
“Please, don’t. I don’t need your pity or for you to feel sorry for me Anna.” The queen said through gritted teeth. “You were never even supposed to know. I am such an idiot.” Now rubbing her temples she couldn’t help but wonder why even after countless times and over countless emotions she had tried to conceal and not feel. It had always ended in disaster, and now, she kind of wished the chandelier in her Ice Palace would have actually crushed her to death that day not too long ago.
Now Anna’s face softened into sympathy. She hated it when Elsa put herself down. Even though she didn’t return the older woman’s feelings, she had always been someone she looked up to. She could still see the beauty and strength in her and wanted to make sure Elsa saw it too.
Anna reached out her hand once again touching her sister’s shoulder. “Elsa, you are not an idiot. It’s understandable. Neither of us had proper socialization as kids…you least of all. I am sure it’s normal to attach yourself to the first person you had actual contact with.”
Anna’s words hurt, but not for the reasons one would think. How could she even exist? She was so perfect she didn’t even care, it didn’t even bother her. In fact she just told Elsa it was normal! Normal!
Even though Elsa had promised herself she would not pull away from Anna, ever since her confession, she refused to so much as hug the younger girl. Anna tried to tell her she didn’t feel unsafe and that it was perfectly fine, but she could not help but feel as if she was some how violating her younger sister. Somehow giving her attention she didn’t want.
Over the years and both Anna and a bit later Elsa’s marriages, Elsa never did get over her feelings for Anna, but the red head did eventually get her to open back up enough to give her sisterly affection.
Kristoff knew Anna's feelings for Elsa. He was determined to find out if Elsa felt the same. So using 'official ice business' as an excuse started hanging around the queen more often. Once he figured out that the feelings were shared by both girls he quickly devised a plan. He was after all a love expert, or at least kinda.
He decided he would get them to admit it to each other through a game of truth or dare. Yeah! that's it! I twas perfect! What a flawless idea! Kristoff was such a genius!
"Truth." Elsa said after careful consideration. Like she would ever pick dare with Kristoff deciding what she would do. Knowing him he would probably make her do something completely ridiculous like tell Greta that the new dress code for the staff was now ice clothing and have to go through with it for at least a day. Anna groaned. It seemed like Elsa had picked that for the last ten rounds.
"Is it true that you have a crush on someone?" Kristoff said. He seemed quite proud of the question when the queen's eyes grew wider at the question registered in her brain. How does he know? He had been hanging around her way more than usual lately. Anna's interest suddenly peaked. Maybe truth could be as exciting as a dare after all.
"I...uh. No! Of course not! I don't have time to even develop-"
"You do!" The princess interrupted with excitement. Even though she felt jealous at the thought of someone else winning the queens heart. "Who is it? Oh my god he must be absolutely perfect if you like him!"
"Slow down Anna. Only one question per turn!" Kristoff chided the red head. Elsa looked at him suspiciously. What is he up to?
"Your turn Kristoff." Elsa said with a smirk. The blond man visibly swallowed. What the queen on to him? He hopped not.Though just in case he thought he'd play it safe this time.
"Truth."
Elsa rolled her eyes. If she didnt know the man as well as she did she would accuse him of being a coward. "Is it true that you are responsibly for the 10 crates of carrots missing from the kitchen?"
The ice master visibly paled. "Well not 10! maybe 9 or 8... 10 it was 10... look I'll pay for it I swear-"
Anna punched him in the arm.
"OW!"
"Shut up Kristoff we don't actually care! Now it's my turn! Ask me!"
"Truth or dare?" the blond man asked smiling at Anna's enthusiasm.
"DARE!"
"I dare you to..." Kristoff leaned in ans whispered something in her ear. She visibly blushed as she looked over at Elsa, who's cheeks also seemed to be a bit pinker than usual.
After he finished telling her, Anna moved closer to Elsa making them both nervous. Soon the princess was pulling the queen forward by her shoulders.
"A-Anna you don't have to do anything you don't-" She was cut off when Anna touched her cheek and tilted her head. Elsa's face was as red as her sister's hair at this point. Anna then suddenly leaned in and blew a raspberry on Elsa's opposite cheek and pulled back right away in a fit of laughter.
Eventually it was Elsa's turn again. She squinted her eyes at Kristoff trying to see passed his innocent smile. If she chose truth again he would just ask her more questions about her crush. So she figured her best strategy was to pick dare, but did really know? Or was he just messing with her?
"Dare."
The princess' mouth dropped open at her sister finally choosing something other than truth. When Kristoff's smile grew to a grin though, Elsa knew she had made a big mistake.
"I dare you right now, where ever they are-" he glanced at Anna. "to kiss your crush!"
The temperature in the room dropped slightly.
"Kris.Toff. I. Can't." The snow queen stated looking at the man seriously, with authority, biting off every word, but her nervous habit of playing with her hands and the lowered temperature of the room gave her away. Kristoff knew he had her and refused to budge.
Anna just sat there and watched the exchange feeling like she had missed something. She would soon be fully informed of the matter though.
After a stair down with Kristoff not wavering, Elsa sighed and then grabbed her sister and pulled her in for a kiss.
So I am actually physically writing these all out and then typing them out and putting them in to a queue when I have time. that way after a while of this you will all have a nice steady flow of stories everyday. Any ways back to the Elsanna!

"The cold never bothered me anyway!" Anna mocked her older sister as she roughly pulled on her boots. Elsa just looked down at her sister smiling. A hand went over her mouth and she giggled when Anna accidentally hit herself in the face with her own boot lace.
I was winter time and the princess was dragging the queen outside for some much needed fun when Elsa noticed her younger sister didn't have on proper attire. She made her stop and change in the middle of the younger girls excitement.
Anna had looked at her as if she was a hypocrite, gesturing to the older girl's attire. The blond was still wearing summer clothing. Elsa had dismissed her ridiculous point away with a flick of her wrist saying the cold didnt bother her anyway. Elsa had stopped bothering to put seasonal appropriate clothes on not seeing the point anymore.
A snow ball fight started immediately as they got outside, with Anna throwing one in Elsa's direction. Elsa of course cheated by using her powers, but this time it did her no good. The snow ball fight ended when Anna tackled her older sister into the snow just as she was conjuring a large snow ball. The queen ended up dropping it on the both of them.
Elsa went to try again when Anna pushed her hands down preventing her from using her powers. The ice queen blushed and felt herself heat up hoping Anna wouldn't notice the effect she had on her.
"You know that's totally cheating!"
As the sun went down Anna started to shiver visibly. She protested though as Elsa dragged her back inside. Once inside the red head couldn't seem to warm up.
Elsa sprung to action getting the younger girl a blanket, starting a fire in the fireplace and telling the staff to fetch them hot chocolate. She then stood off to the side awkwardly not wanting to give her sister a chill but also having conflicting feelings about whether she should be physically close to Anna at all. This time it wasn't her powers she was afraid of, this time it was her feelings for the girl. She didn't trust
Noticing this Anna smiled at her. "You can come sit next to me you know?"
"I know I just... don't want to hurt you." the blond confessed hugging herself.
"You're still not worried about- No, this is something different. Isn't it?"
The blond's down cast eyes gave her her answer.
"Come here." Anna said still smiling. Without saying anything Elsa slowly walked over and sat down next to Anna leaving about two feet of space between them. Rolling her eyes Anna opened her blanket and scooped a surprised queen up into her arms and wrapped the blanket securely around both of them.
Elsa surprised herself when she easily relaxed into Anna. She had forgotten, at least for now, that she had told herself to never allow this. Her younger sister rested her head against her shoulder getting as close as possible and sighing with content as she got comfortable. Elsa put her arms around her and kissed the top of her head.
Anna looked up and met Elsa's eyes. Bother girls blushed as they realized the intimacy of the situation. Without thinking they both leaned in. Then their lips met for the first time ever.
Authors Note: This isn't really Elsanna or for shipping purposes really... I just got to thinking... what if someone's family was severely effected by the staff cut after Elsa is locked away? What would happen if Anna had gone and talked to Elsa alone when she requested it at the coronation?

Hanna's mom and dad had worked for the palace in Arendelle for thirty years. The pay was generous and the work was simple enough for on the job training. Their skills however were not very useful outside the royal setting. So, when the King and Queen dramatically reduced the staff members and shut the entire castle down, Hanna's family was left with out a job and skills that were not applicable to everyday life in Arendelle.
It was a hard life after that. Her parents never got a stable job and got into a lot of legal trouble stealing and what not. They only ever had enough money to feed their daughter. They where strong willed and Hanna figured that is where she got her stubbornness and determination from.
After ten years of this however, her parents quickly wilted away to nothing. Their funeral was bare minimum. Cremation with no ceremony. Arendelle reserved burial for the wealthy as it took up precious land that could be used for something else.
Hanna had tried to come up with the 100 gold pieces but barely got to 25 before the payment was due. Now all she owned was two urns filled with the only two people she had ever cared for and loved. Sure she had friends but many of those were lost with her parents job.
"It's all her fault! They closed the castle because of her!" Hanna told the urn with her father inside it. She didn't know exactly why but rumors spread like wild fire in the small kingdom as to why the King and Queen had locked the doors and cut hundreds of jobs. There was something wrong with the girl, she was evil, cursed with some strange power, so they locked her away so she couldn't hurt anyone is what the people were saying.
"I'll fix this. You just watch! I will find a way in and confront this witch. It's because of her your dead. It's because of her we lived like this..." She rolled the urn around in her hands and then set it down on the ground next to the urn with her mother's remains. As she walked away and left them there a plan formed in her mind. She would become the best blacksmith this kingdom ever saw. She would be so good they would have to hire her for the position at the palace. She would then tell- no- demand compensation for her life's troubles personally to Princess Elsa.
When the King and Queen tragically died at sea Hanna's job became much easier. Princess Elsa would now be forced out into the public as she would now be crowned Queen of Arendelle. Since the ruler of Arendelle was in charge of interviewing head positions at the castle Hanna might not even need to actually get the job, she just needed the interview.
"Can I ...speak with you? ...Alone?" Elsa was incredibly nervous even though she had made it through the coronation ceremony Anna was proving difficult testing her emotions at every turn. It wasn't the suggestion of marriage entirely that filled Elsa with sudden terror, but the thought of more people in the castle.
She was barley making it one day, how could she do it all day everyday? Perhaps if she could just get Anna alone in order to tell her about her powers and why it couldn't happen, maybe the girl wouldn't be so angry with her.
The look on Anna's face at the request was pure irritation and just when Elsa thought she was going to refuse her, she sighed and nodded her head in agreement.
"So uh, what is this about?" Anna asked casually after a long silent moment between them. They were in Elsa's private chambers; It being her first time in the room, the princess was looking everywhere but at her sister.
Her hands shaking, Elsa reached out to still the girl in her movements but her hands fell just before contact was made. She made a fist and winced at the stupid mistake she had almost made. Anna caught the gesture and finally looked at the queen. She looked like a small frightened girl, so unsure of herself. Whatever anger or annoyance Anna had towards the blond vanished.
"Elsa, it's okay. For the first time, I can actually be here for you. Please, can you just trust me? You don't seem to be able to trust yourself. Why I am not sure, but I promise that if you just give me a chance-" Anna was cut off by Elsa's sudden movements.
The queen quickly turned around and grabbed a cup on the desk. She turned back to her sister, lips pierced. She grabbed it hard in her hand and held it out to Anna. Confused she took it.
"I don't get it? Do you have a drinking problem? I always thought because of the gloves it was a dirt thing... but..."
Elsa held up her gloved hands. "No. Anna... I don't... just watch okay?" The queen slowly pulled a glove off by the finger tips and before setting it behind her carefully, she took a deep breath. Then she reached out and touched the glass, it instantly turned into a block of ice. Anna dropped it and jumped back, the block of ice making a loud thud as it hit the floor.
So this was it. This was her dark secret. She could freeze things. This is why Elsa had not spoken to or seen her in 13 years. this is why a painting of Joan of Arch was Anna's only friend growing up. All she could do was just stare at the cup-cicle on the floor with a frown on her face.
Elsa was slowly starting to panic the longer it took Anna to have any sort of reaction. She quickly tried pulling her glove back on but dropped it next to the frozen cup, which was now accumulating a small puddle under it.
It seemed to break Anna out of her thoughts and she finally looked up. Elsa was just about to bend down to retrieve the glove when the red-head went for it at the same time, but the queen snapped up straight holding her hands against her chest once she realized what was about to happen. She didn't want to accidentally touch Anna reaching for it.
Anna picked it up and held it out to her sister expectantly. The older woman just stared at it however, noticing there was to much of a probability they would touch.
Anna's frown deepened as an epiphany hit her. Elsa was avoiding touching her. "Why are you doing that?" She asked.
"D-Doing what?"
The princess reach out to touch her and she took a step back hitting her lower back against the desk. Ice creeped across it's surface.
"That." the red head replied.
The queen's eyes squeezed shut and she took a shaky breath. "I can't touch...anyone. That's why I wanted to show you. You can't marry Hans. No one can move here... more people means m-more...accidents."
"Oh Elsa, we could just explain it. I am sure he would understand and not touch you-"
"Anna no! People just aren't that kind when it comes to things like this. You can't tell anyone."
The next morning Elsa's first business as queen was to interview people for the new black smith position. Normally the princess' presence wasn't needed for it but Anna had agreed to sit with Elsa in support, helping her get used to being around people. After a long talk the night before the princess had given up the marriage to Hans in favor of aiding her sister.
After a few applicants that didnt impress Elsa one bit, a young woman with long brown hair and bright green eyes walked through the doors of the throne room. She had on beautifully crafted plate armor and held a helmet in her hand. An empty sword sheath at her side. She had argued with the guards that she needed it to further demonstrate her smithing abilities, but they wouldn't allow her to bring it in.
Elsa looked upon the woman with interest.
"That some impressive armor..." the queen began.
"Hanna, your majesty." She said taking a bow.
Elsa waved away the action in annoyance. The formality was at the top of her list of annoyances that came with being queen.
"So, why should I chose you for this job?" the blond asked.
"Because you owe it to me." the brunette said it with much confidence, her head held high.
Before Elsa could respond Anna stood abruptly. "Excuse me? Show some respect!"
"Respect? It was because of her that my parents starved to death! They worked here at this palace," Hanna raised her arms up in the air gesturing to their surroundings. "for years. How was that repaid? Being fired, simply because your sister here was deemed unsafe to be around normal people."
Elsa felt the words hit her like daggers. It seemed the destruction and death her powers created knew no bounds. Perhaps Anna was right? They shouldn't stop at just telling Hans; They should tell the whole kingdom. With any bit of luck they might execute her so she would no longer have to deal with all this pain and anguish.

Anna is now a stoic queen. She reflects on the past, how the royal sisters' taboo relationship was disastrously exposed. Elsa, knowing that the public would target her with the lion's share of blame, devised a plan to preserve Arendelle's royal line. Though Anna desperately resisted, she ultimately agreed to support the ruse that Elsa had magically seduced her. Elsa fled to the wild, reviled as a witch, while Anna retained public support as queen. But still she looks to the mountains...

They would have never been caught if it wasn’t for the intensely dry hot summer. Through the windows Anna’s bed room lit up as lightning flashed through the sky. With out knowing it, Anna and Elsa continued to make love as that very bolt struck a tree, setting all of Arendelle on fire.
A servant burst into Elsa’s bed chambers with the urgent news to find their queen absent. Rumors had already started about the sister’s involvement and so the next stop was Anna’s room.
It was a horrifying memory, but it was all Elsa could ever think about as she stared out over the frozen landscape from her ice palace. She couldn’t believe how fast guards and staff members had flooded in to Anna’s room pulling the queen away from her sister with no regard to their state of undress, already deciding that neither no longer were worthy of modesty.
Elsa was quick to shout out that she had put Anna under a spell. She had it all planned out, her story. She couldn’t not be prepared for the worst. Not when Anna’s life depended on it. Now, nearly a year later she was glad she had, despite Anna’s protest to the plan, or for even having one at that.
The towns folk had accepted the story and with pleading from Anna they simply banished the ice queen. Elsa had kept an eye on Arendelle through various means and was glad to find they had accepted Anna as their queen and no harm had be fallen her.
She had even heard of Kristoff and Anna’s wedding just days ago. “That should be me,” Elsa said bitterly. Her hands tightening in to fists.
"You are right. It should be."
Elsa spun around in shock at Anna’s voice. Her sister was standing before her in the door way.
"I am really sorry it took so long! Who knew finding someone that looked exactly like me would be so hard?" Anna said tucking a strand of hair behind her ear nervously.
With out saying anything, the princess had devised her own plan after she failed to talk Elsa out of taking the fall. She figured they would let her rule, but without Elsa there was no way she would stay in Arendelle. So her and Kristoff spent a lot of time working out the details. They spent a lot of time looking for not only a young woman that looked like Anna but one who could rule beside Kristoff in her place. Sending word to Elsa of their plan, they decided, would be too risky.
"Anna what are you doing? Do you want to be killed? Why are you here!? You need to leave now!" the ice queen found herself angry. What a foolish girl!
"The answer to all those questions is; No, I am here to marry you. I know there wont be any witnesses or a party really but… I don’t care! All I want to do is be with you." The red head took a step towards the ice queen but Elsa huffed and turned on her heals.
Elsa was livid. She had sacrificed everything for her happily. Gave her an entire kingdom! This is how she repaid her by…. by loving her. Suddenly her anger drained from her. It was then replaced by dread. She could easily live in isolation knowing Anna was happily married and safe, but now?
She felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Elsa, you know I can’t truly be happy unless I am with you right? Down there, I was just as lonely as you are up here."
Elsa felt tears trail down her cheeks as she pulled Anna into an embrace. Whatever happened they would go through it together. It was Anna’s plan and right now all the ice queen could do was trust in her like her sister had trusted her before.
As the trolls said, Elsa's power only grows. Her very skin begins to resemble ice. Years pass and she realizes that she has stopped aging altogether. With this revelation Elsa must contemplate many things... will she rule Arendelle forever as a god-queen? How will she cope with outliving everyone around her... especially the one girl she loves more than anything?
TW: Suicide Attempt
It has been twenty five years, Elsa thought as she sat on her throne looking out over the empty room. Twenty five years to the day Anna had froze to death out on the frozen fjord saving her life from Prince Hans of the Southern Isles.
Anna was now 43 years old, herself 46. These were just numbers, or at least that’s what Elsa kept thinking like her old mantra of conceal don’t feel back when she was but a child. Now that the white streak in Anna’s hair was due to aging and not from Elsa’s powers the queen wasn’t sure what to do. She could no longer ignore the fact that she was no longer aging, but Anna was. She could no longer deny that in as little as 10 years she may no longer have a sister.
Other things ran through her mind as well, like how people had noticed by now and upgraded her title to Ice Goddess. Not officially or something ridiculous like that, but when another kingdom had declared war just 5 years ago, and Elsa had gave not only a moving speech about freedom from tyrant to her people but also fought on the front lines decimating the invaders with in days; the people had greeted her not with chants of “Queen Elsa, long live Queen Elsa!” But with something more even more faltering. “Ice Goddess Elsa!”
The people would except her eternal rule if she chose to do so, but could she handle a kingdom with out Anna? The red head who was by definition her true love?
Elsa’s forehead wrinkled with thoughtful determination. No, when Anna dies that’s when my life will end as well, the queen decided. If anyone asked her she would reply with selfless reasons, like ‘no one should live that long’. The truth was though that her decision was pure selfishness. With her as queen forever, Arendelle’s people would forever be free. Any force now in the present, past or future would not be able to keep up with Elsa’s growing powers.
The trolls were right, her powers would grow, but they seemed to not stop. Elsa was pretty sure she could take a canon to the chest and walk away with out a scratch. At that, a horrifying thought passed through Elsa’s mind. What if by the time Anna dies, there is no longer a way to even commit suicide? With her skin now nearly translucent and looking more and more crystalline in structure everyday it could already be to late.
Could she even bee mortally wounded at all? It had been so long that she was seriously injured, so much as a paper cut that she couldn’t remember. The thought sent her in to a moment of insanity and panic. Standing up she made a large ice spear and stuck it in her stomach as hard and as far as it would go. The ice spear went clear out the other side of her and she gasped at the sudden pain. She took it as a good sign that she could still be hurt. She started to feel herself get light headed and noticed faintly the door to the throne room open.
The last thing she heard was Anna’s voice shouting her name before she passed out from the blood loss caused by her own self inflicted wound.
So i decided to make a prequel to this one as I had a sort of fun twist that came to me. Here it is!
Part One
The king was furious. How could this happen!? His daughters soul mates! And now the entire kingdom knew. Briefly he cursed himself for wanting more than one child but quickly took the awful thought back. If not, Anna, bright bouncy beautiful Anna would of never been born. That was a thought he could not bare, even more so than this incestuous fortune that had been blurted out in front of all of Arendelle at the yearly new years fortune of Arendelle event. He made a mental note to make it a private tradition from now on.
He expected out rage from the village people. Instead he just heard murmurs from the crowd before quickly ending the session. As his people rushed to figure out what to do for damage control, including throw the psychic in a dungeon cell something unexpected started to happen.
First the letters started appearing in the castle, on a night stand, under his soup bowl at lunch. They were all anonymous and when he asked the servants conveniently had to be else where.
They were short messages of approval that slowly explained why the people had collectively decided to support his daughters. First it was practical things like, 'Who else would rule us?' Then it got more and more heart warming.
'It may not be normal, but neither was the blizzard last year when you saved my son from freezing to death.'
'Princess Elsa comes by my cart every morning and helps me pull it out to the street. With out her I wouldn't be able to sell my wares. I am alive because of her.'
'Princess Elsa may only be 7, but she has far surpassed the kids in my class. I am only concerned with the intelligence of Arendelle's leadership. I have full confidence in your daughters.'
I was a week before the letters started to dwindle and two and a half more before a day went by where the king received no more letters. The people made themselves quite clear. Regardless of the future, they would stand by Princess Elsa and Princess Anna as rulers to their kingdom when the time came.
Knowing the history of Arendelle would have saved the heavy set fortune teller quite a lot of time and money. Instead she stood on the cold streets of Arendelle failing to sell a single parchment. The head line was something she was 100% sure would make her rich quick. But as people walked by her they laughed and pointed. First she thought they simply did not believe the accusation until she realized they were laughing at her. It was ironic really, that she didn't see this one coming.
Gerda, a woman who worked in the castle for many years stood there smiling to herself watching the heavy set psychic try to sell the scandalous news and failing miserably. She had eves dropped on the fortune telling session between the older woman, Queen Elsa and Princess Anna.
"Should we tell her we already knew and that the jokes on her?" She asked up at the sky. The wind blew seemingly in response and she smirked. "You're right, let her squirm."
Elsanna prompt: Elsa and Anna (along with everyone else) find out they are true soulmates, meaning that they are meant to be in all past, present, and future lifetimes. This isn't the first time they were siblings
Arendelle’s Future 1/2
It was time for Arendelle’s yearly fortune telling event. Every year the King and Queen would summon a psychic to the castle to tell of Arendelle’s fortune as a kingdom for the coming new year.
It took place in private with only Elsa and Anna since there was no king this time around. It would then be Elsa’s job as queen to relay the good news to her people.
A heavy set woman who was nearly grey say across a small round table from the queen and princess. The queen was sitting with her arms crossed in annoyance. However Anna was sitting forward excitedly in her chair. Between the larger woman and the two royals sat a crystal ball that was so clear it reminded Anna of Elsa’s pristine ice palace.
"Yes! Tell me! When will Kristoff propose?" the red-head jumped in right away after being told they could ask personal questions as well if they wished.
"Anna, no. She is just here to tell us the future of Arendelle. Nothing more." Elsa replied with a sigh.
"Come on Elsa! Lighten up!" her younger sister said bounding in her chair.
"Fine just one."
Anna squealed in delight. “So, like I said! Me and Kristoff?”
Elsa hid a cringe not wanting to know the answer to the question.
The older woman smiled at the princess’ enthusiasm and began waving her hands over the crystal ball dramatically. Elsa rolled her eyes. This was a joke. Obviously she would tell her sister something good, something positive. It was a parlor trick, she didnt actually have powers. Elsa had only agreed to it to hold up tradition, or the psychic wouldn’t even be here in the first place.
"You wont be getting married."
"Wait-What?" Both sisters said in unison. Both shocked for different reasons.
"At least not to him…" the old woman went on, giving Elsa an odd look.
"Then to who?" Anna asked perplexed.
The psychic grew increasingly uncomfortable and tried changing the subject. “How about you? Do you have a question? Or perhaps you’d like to got straight to Arendelle’s future, yes?” Because of the blatant change of subject, Elsa was now just as curious.
"No… before what did you see?" the queen asked.
The fortune teller visibly paled. “Please don’t make me tell! Most don’t understand and react badly! Can we please just move on?” the woman pleaded.
The queen chuckled. “What did you see? Anna die or something?”
The princess’ eyes widened. “Death! Elsa that isn’t funny!”
"No! No! Nothing like that! You will marry princes." she replied.
"Then who?" Anna asked again curiously. Again the woman looked at Elsa. Noticing the pattern Elsa figured she would just save the woman the trouble, or at least she thought she was…
"Fine we will move on… I have a new question." the ice queen hugged herself a bit feeling nervous. The old woman looked relieved but it was short lived as Elsa asked, "Who will I marry then?"
The fortune teller visibly swallowed. Elsa had finally had enough.
"Listen I’ll pay you double if you just spit it out all ready!"
"Okay, okay! You are both true loves to each other!" She practically shouted.
Anna and Elsa looked at each other for a breif moment before bursting into laughter.
"We already know that! We broke a spell using true love between sisters." the princess said looking at Elsa with love, proud of herself.
"The old woman rubbed her temples in frustration. never had she had such a stressful time telling someone their future.
"No! This is romantic!" She nearly shouted pointing between the two women. "You will marry each other! You do in every life time!"
Both girls blushed a deep red and looked anywhere but each other. They had both been hiding their feelings for each other for a long time, scared they would be rejected.
The fortune teller saw their reaction and suddenly relaxed in her seat. Her laughter started as a low chuckle and then bubbled up into a full on fit.
Elsa suddenly became flustered. “We are sisters this is ridiculous!” She told the woman. Anna visibly saddened at the reminder.
"Oh my darlings! This isn’t the first time you’ve been related! With soul mates these things just happen every once in a while." she explained to the two young royals.
"Why would anyone let two sisters marry?" The princess mumbled her head down looking at her lap. Elsa looked at her with concern noticing the unshed tears in the red head’s eyes.
The psychic looked into the crystal once again and described what she saw.
"I see… fake adoption papers…I see a four! No! Five year fight to get Arendelle to make marriage between people of the same gender legal. You will be successful in this endeavor, and be the first couple to be married under the new law."

"Elsa you can't come! You are blind!" Anna pleaded as the queen tried to get on the sleigh with her.
"That's right, I am blind not crippled. Now how do you start this thing?" Elsa said feeling around for the reigns. Anna smiled at her sadly. They were out near the docks and no reindeer had been connected to the sleigh yet.
"Elsa stop. We have no reindeer... this is why you can't come. Elsa get off!" Anna said getting more flustered when Elsa just sat their on the sleigh with her arms crossed.
"No Anna! Kristoff can't go with you because he is helping with the floods for me. You are not going to see the trolls alone." the queen said in a determined voice.
Their arguing caught Ragna's attention and she made her way over. "Is there something I can do to be of service my queen?"
"Ragna? Is that you?" Elsa said turning her head in the direction she heard her voice.
"Your eyes! Elsa!" The fisher-woman rushed to Elsa and pulled her hands in to her own. "Who did this to you?"
The queen smiled. "Yup it's you. Could you please tell my sister i am accompanying her to see if the trolls can fix my eye sight because she isn't going alone?"
"What? Neither of you are. I am coming with!" Ragna said getting into the sleigh next to Elsa.
Anna sighed. "Great. Now I have to get both of you out of the sleigh! We don't even have a reindeer yet!"
As the three women set off up the mountain heavy rain started falling over Arendelle bringing with it even more flooding. Elsa didn't care about her eyes sight as much as she cared about solving the problems of her kingdom. She decided when they got there she would ask them to help Arendelle instead, to not waste their magic on something as small as her eyes sight.
However before they could reach the trolls they were stopped by an intense bright light in their path. Anna was the first to notice it pointing it out to Ragna mostly to get her off Elsa. They had been giggling and laughing like a teenage couple and it was really making Anna jealous. Elsa had only known the woman two days and they already seemed like they were old friends, and not just old friends, but lovers. Anna felt like a fool for having ever had hope that Elsa wold like her in that way. they were sisters, why would she?
As the light grew bigger though both Anna and Ragna decided they should maybe change directions to avoid it, but the light just repositioned itself. Finally the light got dimmer and soon revealed a light being standing right in front of them.
Before anyone could react it spoke.
"Queen Elsa of Arendelle we bar your path to the trolls. They can not help you. Your problems are beyond their remedies."
"Who are you? How do you know the trolls can not help me?" Elsa replied.
"I am a member of a high magic council. We decide who is fit to rule and who is not. Each kingdom is blessed with a ruler with magical ability every 500 years, but that ruler must be fit to do so." The being explained.
"I am the rightful ruler, now let us pass. I have no time for this. Arendelle is flooding and people are dying." the queen responded irritated.
"Oh we know you are the rightful ruler, but are you fit to do so? The woes of Arendelle will only be solved after you pass the test of the four states of matter."
"The four states of matter?" Anna asked in confusion.
"Yes princess. The ice queen must pass all four tests. She has already completed the first. The solid state of matter. She has mastered her ability over ice. Liquid and Gas still run rampant through her kingdom unchecked. Your control over fire as caused your sister great stress."
Anna looked down at her hands with guilt. Sensing the words had hit Anna hard Elsa reached out for her sister eventually finding her and pulling her close.
"It's okay Anna you didnt mean to blind me with your fire powers. I'll will be fine." the blond reassured her.
"You misinterpret my words. Fire didn't blind you. The fourth state of matter has done that." The light being's voice boomed.
"Fourth? What's the fourth one?" Anna asked.
"The secret you keep from Elsa will show her the way." Came the reply and then the light being vanished as if it were never there.
Elsa's face now showed disappointment and sadness. "Y-Your keeping something else from me?" She wrapped her arms around herself. Anna still didn't trust her enough to not keep secrets. First the fire and now whatever this was.
