I found → Edmond & Elsie
Brown eyes flickered open as the sun streaming through the crack of her curtain made her wince, a soft sigh leaving Elsie’s lips as she brought the back of her hand to rub at her eyes. The events from yesterday flashed in front of her mind, which in turn made her smile. It was funny, really, how last week she’d been mopping around thinking that Edmond didn’t want her, that he didn’t feel the same craving that she did. She had gone to the gathering for her aunt’s and father’s sake, a way to distract herself even though she knew he would be there. Thankfully she had gone, because it had put a lot of things in perspective for the brunette and the Frenchman.
Carefully she turned so that her back wasn’t to his chest and simply looked at him for a few second while he slept, an arm draped over her waist as she carefully brought her fingertips to brush his cheek. He looked a lot younger like this, she realized. She knew that most people her age wouldn’t be as attracted to someone so much older, but it wasn’t something she had a choice in. The attraction to him was different than with other men, it was like she needed him one way or another; it was a scary feeling but wonderful at the same time. With a small grin, she reached up to give him a soft peck on the cheek before slowly removing his arm from her body as she got out of bed and tried not to wake him.
Now nude, she walked over to her dresser and silently pulled out a pair of underwear and put them on. Realizing that they’d brought most of their clothes with them that they’d shed in the living room to her room, she picked up his wrinkled t-shirt from the ground and pulled it over head before taking out the hair that was in the way. It was baggy on her small form, but she liked the way that it smelled like him, like he still wrapped around her. It was then realized that maybe she liked him a lot more than she thought she did. She didn’t want to think about that now, though. With one last look at the man in her bed, she walked out of her bedroom and in search for some food.
Considering that she hadn’t left her house much in the last week, she was running low on things to eat and definitely had to go do groceries sooner rather than later. Thankfully, she still had some coffee, tea and a few bagels for them to digest this morning. Her kitchen wasn’t the biggest, but it was perfect size for someone living alone and she quickly heated up the water for both their drinks and placed the bagels into the toaster. A few minutes later, everything was put onto a tray and she walked back to her bedroom while making sure nothing spilled over.
Elsie could only hope that things wouldn’t be awkward this morning, that he wouldn’t want to leave immediately after eating and would spend a little bit of time with her before his day started at the shop. It was only eight and since it was the weekend, the shop only opened in a few hours. Standing in the doorway of her bedroom, she bit her lip before speaking up. “Morning,” she walked to the bed, carefully sitting down next to him and placing the tray in front of both of them. “I made you some tea and a bagel… Sorry it’s not much, I need to go to the market today to buy more food.”
Taking her mug with both hands, she brought it to her lips and took a sip from her coffee. It wasn’t the best thing ever considering it was instant but she’d take any help of waking up right now. As the liquid warmed her up, she turned to Edmond with a sheepish smile on her face. “So last night was… great.” She pulled a loose piece of hair behind her ear before looking down and continuing. “Really great, actually.”
