yoruEKI update 5.19.17

Been a long time since I did one of these, but here it goes.

I have been flipping between writing work and doodling. I am still on chapter...12/13 I believe in terms of writing. And my original plan has been altered A LOT to what I have now. I do have to plans to alter to prior points, but I like my new plans for this portion. It is the introduction for Makena and Shima, and recruitment of Makena into the main group. With the new plans Shima is taking a HUGE role. She’s come so far from the original inception of just wanting to do a cross-dressing character. Shima is my favorite character I have, so the more importance I give her the better. 

Other news: Shima now has a code name, Castiel. From the random idea of giving her a code name, rearranging the letters of her name to ‘Misha’, and from there my brain went to Misha Collins the actor of my favorite SPN character, Castiel.

My goal is to get a drawing tablet with a monitor. I feel that will make doing direct digital stuff easier for me. 

I haven’t posted art on here much, I am posting some of it onto my instagram account now. Still writing for BitCultures and working on Let’s Plays.

yoruEki Update

Just read my last one from 5 months ago! It has been so long and no much progress has been made. I got into chapter 12, I’ve edited some events of the chapter but nothing major. The main event is about to start in the chapter and like usual I am slow going with getting into writing out the fight scenes. But hopefully I can get a fire under my ass. School is officially finished, and I have 2 jobs(one part-time, the other volunteer). I will have more free time now to get some progress in this, even if it is just rough drafts I do want to get further into the first part. At least get the group to the climax point before the final battles by the end of this year. I really want to cement the first length of the story so I could start to cement the 2nd part.

Still need to get more into the doodling of character designs, but my practice has been off on that front so things have been slow going. Also lost the scanner software I was using to get my sketches on the comp, so need to find a solution for that. Or maybe just have to practice more with the tablet alone

OK, so I’ve been meaning to post some of my Maya headcannon for awhile. Not sure if meh LP has made any changes, but this doesn’t change much to the timeline as far as I know. Well the headcannon starts with Maya isn’t her birth name...Weird but I think Mayella chose to name Maya after herself. So Maya has a different name on her birth record, but since Mayella was able to influence her to the name more than Madame could counter it stuck with her. When Maya got old enough she started to answer to Maya and introduce herself as Maya. Thanks to Mayella’s mental presence within Maya, she was able to influence Maya a lot at a young age before Maya start to become more aware of Mayella’s darker and more sinister side. Finally I see Maya as bi-sexual. [I already have proclaimed my OTP/bromance as Maya/TK]

OK, been around a month since my last update, or exactly a month. I have not made much more progress in the writing. I am finishing up chapter 11, I have gotten rid of one sequence and am replacing it with another. Which is basically me just changing who injuries members of the group before they progress to the next area. There has been one major change, Anjiru is no longer main in Black Rebellion...Something I decided I wanted to do for the angels is have a bit of reflection to the state of the world in their element. For Anjiru and considering the world is coming off of a war on one continent, but still deep in one in the other the light of the world is dim so she appears as a tiny fairy like being. Because I don’t want to make her a Navi and guide the group around after meeting. I instead switched her into a recurring support character. In ripple effect to this, I am thinking of keeping Makena alive instead of dying. He will sacrifice but not to the same degree as dying. She will still be introduced at the same time and will appear when dealing with god related towns or situations, also at times with the Chess Pieces. I am working on a new appearance for this. I have really fallen out of practice with my drawings so that might take me awhile. I am also looking to revamp Nozomi, but other than those two everyone else is set in stone...for now.

Ayuta!

So the new back story for the character who was perviously only had the label of ‘group flirt/perv’ is now the first member[and only from the first 13] that has nori descendent. He is half-human and was raised in human territory. He was left by his human mother at the church of a worshipping town, whether she lived in the village or stayed after words was unknown. One of the priest became a pseudo father to him and his protector. Eventually Zero’s growing group comes to the village looking for shelter from the rain. Ayuta takes an interest in them seeing as they are not the usual travels they would see come through.

Incident happens[too lazy to type it all] and Ayuta decides to leave the village. Shortly after leaving he encounters Zero and co. asking he would like to join them. Ayuta agrees. So like I said in a text post, I previously had thought to kill Ayuta’s character off a great part in that being his lack of development that I had. But with finally getting a concrete backstory for his recruitment into the Chess Pieces all makes me want to keep him around. I can also see some events in Black Rebellion that I can use to develop him further with the time skip. My only horror about deciding this is that now I need to do a time-skip design for him!

Also I got lazy in the color it it wasn’t obvious, I totally forgot to color in his eye, which is suppose to be a green/yellow coloring.

YoruEKI-Progress

I did one of these not that long ago so there isn’t much. I am part way done with the new design for Ayuta coloring wise. So happy with the changes that have been made. His hair does have some similarity to Aito, but I find that somewhat OK because there are 4 sort of leagues/types within the nori race and Aito’s mother and Ayuta’s father are from that same type(which is characterized by having lighter hair members). So that should be up either later tonight if I get the energy to or maybe not till next week since I have a paper to do for one class and the PPV this Sunday.[Also work XP] Other than that I have entered into Chapter 11, which gives some more development and break events before Makena and SHIMA! get thrown into the mix. Though I know Makena entrance is his own chapter and Shima gets introduced afterwords, some of the events may change in those. I still think I’ll be keeping them split into 2 just cause Shima is an important character, even if she isn’t in the main picture of the series. So I want to have that chapter there to give her a bit of focus, plus it is going to be lighter in terms of combat I believe and will probably give some world/character building there especially in regards to view on gender and sexuality on some level. Another comment I just wanna make is I REALLY want to read the Game of Thrones book AKA The Song of Ice and Fire series. I have gotten more obsessed with the show these season and while the show is diverging from the books more and more I want see what was left out and how things went in them in them, as well as the thoughts of the characters that is left more to inference in the show. Plus looking more into the show and the book series has given me more of the drive to work more on yoruEKI.

Design for Eiko’s and Mamoru’s Bio-Parents. 

I won’t get into details on how Eiko and Mamoru are made, but in basics of it Lojza, their father, and Lace, their mother, donate their DNA to the experiments that made Eiko and Mamoru. They however never meet official, they had some shared friends and knew of each other but never got to know one another. Lojza is short, but a suppieor fighter. He rose in ranks quickly and was a commander before he died in battle. His preferred weapon was a broad sword. Lace is taller and clumsy. She is not skill in combat much, she is able to use pistols well, but past that she is almost useless. She did not rise in ranks until her death when they granted her title of lieutenant for her actions in the last battles. I love how their designs came out. It feels a little easier to design children from the charries I have. Plus when I have Eiko and Mamoru to get points of them that came from their parents and trying to incorporate both of them. It is probably fairly obvious that Eiko leans toward their father while Mamoru leans toward their mother. Both get more of their father’s combat abilities just with Mamoru taking on his mother’s weapon. I do have a bit of a side story set in for Eiko and Mamoru, also where I threw Enjyu. That could reveal to them more about who their parents were. But there might be some hints to it within the series. I already have Nozomi being the daughter of Leiko who Yuuhiro’s father knew so there will be some confrontation that she will have with his father about that. Eiko and Mamoru’s might not be as obvious or might be a last minute realization by Yuuhiro’s parents and the group is gone before they can talk about it.

I haven't put up a story update in awhile. Here at least I might have done some on my main blog with other ramblings I think. I have made it into the 10th chapter which is the arrival of Mamoru and almost done. The fight is over so just leaves the resolution of him joining. My main issue was figuring out how I wanted Mamoru to speak. Next they will be moving to the place where they will meet Makena (previously Shouichi) and most importantly SHIMA! I love her character so much. Also I did some changes to ayuta. I made him half-nori. Because he is half he will also have tan skin. He doesn't have sickness that nori get from sunlight because he is half human. I had thought to kill him off but I am thinking of keeping him now. Instead I may kill Izumi's adopted children, they won't really be introduced more of previous deaths that will impact Izumi. I was hoping to get some doodles up. Specifically of kanaye, aiden, and the newest adopted, Thane. I plan on posting them in one image or at least 3 posts at one time. But Aiden clothes need to be redone and I thought I was satisfied with Thane's but I am rethinking it. Thane will be adopted by Aiden in the Final Frontier span of the timeline. Aiden still acts somewhat naive but he takes on Thane as a way of passing on the kindness that Mamoru showed him. I also plan to make one of what was going to be Kanaye's biological heir into either his adopted child or child of his adopted. I wanted to have that continuation of what Eiko and Mamoru had done. Also more recently I decided to removed Enjyu from my main plot line, I do have a bit of a side timeline or sort of break from the main plot to do with him, but he doesn't play a huge role in the main plot currently so it just felt like some thing to have to the side. I might have hints of references that he exists in the main still.
