Hope Is What Keeps Us Alive — The Story of the Eman Houssin Family | Healing Words ProjectThis artwork was created at the request of the Ema
My wonderful friend Katherine made this beautiful video, i teared up watching it, to my dear friend, i don’t know how to thank you enough for everything you have done for us. Your beautiful painting is a message and a reminder that we are still here, and that there is still room in our hearts to dream despite everything.
She shared my story with the world, she was able to convey my pain, my strength, and my humanity in such a powerful and beautiful way. She helped people see beyond the news and the numbers, to see the heart and the soul.
Thank you Katherine for believing in me. Thank you for giving my story wings so it could be heard. Thank you for reminding me that art can be hope, and that friendship can become a small safe home when everything else feels heavy.
I appreciate you more than words can say, and I will always be grateful for you.
الأمل هوا الي بيخلينا نعيش.
To all of our friends who stood up for us and refused to forget about us, we are grateful for life.
I am deeply grateful for being given a second chance to dream after war stole almost everything from our lives. It took away our homes, our safety, our peace, and even the feeling of being truly alive. Our souls felt trapped inside our bodies, crushed by the horror and cruelty of everything we endured.
There was a time when I believed I had been deprived of the right to dream, because my greatest dream in life had become simply to survive, to stay alive, and to escape death. I thought the future was something I would never live to see.
But despite all its cruelty, life has given me a second chance. A chance to dream again. A chance to think about the future I once believed I would never be part of.
After everything my family and I have been through, I still choose to believe that humanity is still alive.
Even in the bitterness of these circumstances, life has blessed me with priceless friends. Friends who stood with us through the darkest moments, whose hearts were always with us, whose kindness carried light into our pain.
I feel immense gratitude because although something precious was taken from me, I was given something even greater in return. That is why I dream again. I look forward again.
Thank you for your love. Thank you for your humanity. Thank you for being the reason this hope grows stronger with each passing day.
Thank you for refusing to forget my family, for refusing to see us as just numbers. Thank you from the depths of my broken heart. You have given me back the life that was taken from me. Thank you for your love, your faith, your humanity, and your mercy.
From Eman, Tasneem, Taim and Tia.
A family of five is fighting to survive in Gaza right now not just the war, but hunger, fear, and uncertainty every single day.
Out of nowhere, she asked me in a quiet voice that carried more weight than her age should ever hold:
Mom, when will we live in a home with no sand everywhere? No insects biting us every day?
She paused for a moment, then continued as if she had been carrying this dream in her heart for a long time:
When will I have my own room just mine? I want it purple and pink too.
And then she said it so softly, almost like she was afraid the dream might disappear if spoken too loudly:
I want a little kitten… all for myself. I will name her Marshmallow.
Then she looked at me and said:
Don’t forget your promise, Mama.🥺
In that moment, I didn’t have the world I wanted to give her only my silence, my arms around her, and a heart trying to stay strong enough to carry all her dreams until they finally become real. 💔

Eman Houssin’s family is filled with nothing but wonderful people who built great lives for themselves in Northern Gaza. But in the midst of the Gaza genocide, their house was destroyed by Israeli bombardment, and they’ve been displaced and struggling to survive ever since. Now, they’re in urgent need of help.
Eman was a dedicated food blogger before the war began, and she’s still posting recipes now. She’s also the proud mother of Tia, Tasneem and Taim.
Tia is a cheerful 4-year-old girl who loves cats, wearing dresses and helping her mother cook her delicious recipes. Not to mention, her birthday was a couple of days ago!
Tasneem is an outgoing, friendly and responsible teenager who loves k-pop, k-dramas and dancing. She hopes to one day become a lawyer.
Taim is an intelligent young boy who aspires to become a pilot. He dreams of flying his family around the world.
All donations will also go to help Eman's other family members, namely her parents, sisters, brother and husband.
If their fundraising goal is met, the Alhaw and Albittar family will be able to rebuild a new life for themselves outside of Gaza.
Unfortunately, donations have been slow for Eman's family. On average, their GoFundMe only receives two donations per day. And it’s only reached 43% of its goal, despite starting almost a year ago, and the family working tirelessly- all while exposing the most vulnerable parts of their lives- online to promote it.
Don’t turn your backs on this incredible family, even just five dollars will go a long way in helping them.

Her father is still recovering from getting shot in the back.
They are hungry every day, food is rare and expensive.
They go days at a time with no donations.
Even as little as 5 Euros helps.
They need some hope. Please donate to them. They are verified, #12 on el-shab-hussein's list. I have also personally been in direct contact with Eman for months.
She’s still perfectly good. Donate her to charity!

Please donate to Eman’s family. They are #12 on el-shab-hussein’s list. They have barely received ANY donations over the past couple weeks. They need money to survive!
Donations have pretty much stalled out on the fundraiser. I know there is a lot to worry about right now, but please consider kicking in at least €5. Three generations of Eman’s family rely on these funds.

Yesterday all bakeries have closed due to lack of necessary resources of flour and gas, as the price of a bag of flour has risen to more than $100, in addition to the lack of the cooking gas which has been missing for weeks and its price has risen insanely, we are now cooking food using fire for the fourth week, the situation is getting worse day by day, food prices are rising each day, we are afraid of the crisis continuing and another famine occurring, not to mention the restless bombing and the horror we live in every single moment, the whole world has failed us, we are dying very slowly, do not stop talking about us, don’t stop spreading our news and stories, please do not ignore our voices and screams, all this injustice must stop immediately!! no more suffering, we are so exhausted and extremely tired, please do not be silent.
Please help us!
I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart and an urgent plea for a… Ramadan Alhaw needs your support for Help Us Safely Evacuate
