Hyper fixated for too long -

Working on a Sundrop Flele SSP (a music player Ghost/desktop buddy) do I remember how to code any of this-no, will Sun move his mouth like Flele’s are supposed to-no. But the idea of being able to have him decked out in stickers and other ‘costumes’ is too fun not to at least try.

Hi! I saw a video on tiktok of your very cute sun and moon shimejis, I don't have my own pc since I share it with my sister and I can't download the shimejis there, do the shimejis work on cell phones?

If you have an android phone you can download a shimeji app, however you have to manually upload each image file and change the frames and speed to your liking it’s a little tricky but works quite well. You can have them set to interact or be ‘ghost’ so they’ll just move around but you can’t grab them. I don’t think there’s any apps for iOS yet tho..

These plushes are a stolen design from Happymatchminiatures on Etsy.

Last October I reached out to her as there was another seller on Etsy who made her designs into plush and refused to take them down or acknowledge Maddy as the original designer. We eventually gotten them removed but now they are popping up here..please don’t support or purchase these…art theft is not ok!

The first two images being Maddy’s designs the second being the stolen copy on Etsy and now on moody minds.

Super weird question! (I love the shimeji's you released so much!) Would you ever think about releasing the sketch version? I really enjoy the pastel look. (But the final product is also fantastic, bravo!!)

hmmm, Initially I wasn't. But I may-just need to 'sketch' some of moons cloning frames, as he never had a full sketched complete demo like Sun. I do quite like the toned down pastel look too.

keep an eye out, they may be popping up for download by the end of the month.

Thank you for posting your Moon shimeji! He's being very creepy-cute on my desktop alongside his sunnier counterpart and causing a much-needed boost of serotonin! =^•ω•^=👍

One question though: do you happen to have posted the pictures you used to "advertize" your shimeji without the text floating around somewhere? If so, would you mind if I used them as desktop backgrounds?

Um.... when I hold Sun or Moon for long enough with my mouse, they either disappear and re-fall or just drop as if I let go..... Have you have that happen?

Yes, totally normal. Shimeji’s used to do all kinds of little buggy things back in the day. The coding is set to make them shimmy and shake until they break free. but sometimes they just pop in and out.

Back in the day shimejis would attack your mouse and hold on or throw it off the screen-for some reason they don’t anymore and a lot of the current ones don’t support it. I think along the way there was an update and they just stopped. But yes totally normal.

Hey! Sorry to bother you but I'm having trouble downloading the Moon shemeji while the Sun one gave me no problems. When I download the ZIP file it does it as a java file then won't run. I also can't unzip the files via google drive for some reason. Is there something I"m missing? Thank you for your time and sorry again for bugging you.

It takes a little for the download to start up. once its complete the zipped folder should appear in your download files, move it so somewhere else-then unzip. for some reason Google drive splits up the contents when you open the link so it can be a little tricky if you don't download it all as one folder like it should be.

I am loving the Shimejis very much. But they don't seem to be able to split into two. Is that meant to be? Unable to have multiple copies? And when just holding them in your mouse still, they go to standing facing the side pose?

Hi~!

I have the cloning turned off as they can get a little crazy and take over your screen quite quickly if left alone. To fix this: once the shimeji’s are running right click their icon a pop up box should appear with a list of options. Select ‘allowed behaviours’ then click on the box ‘breeding/cloning’ the boxes are marked with a check when activated and a black box when deactivated.

As for them defaulting to their shimeji 1 standing pose when holding them-it’s a coding thing that they always do-I’m not sure how to go in and change that. I don’t think I have a program that could. Usually a shimeji’s default pose if them facing forward so it doesn’t look odd, however I couldn’t figure out a way to 3/4 and or front on draw their walk cycles-so I opted to go side on. Sorry, I do admit it is quite funky. 😅

I do have an update coming soon~! As inspired by @galactic-drops little cuties where you’ll be able to ‘pet’ them and swing them upside down. However unlike theirs hugging (which is too precious) my bois will be leapfrogging over each other-or at least that’s the goal.

Drew these as a coloring page for my nephews and decided to give it a go myself. Rather rushed but still a fun piece I guess. I think this is the most genuine effort I’ve ever put towards a Pikachu oddly enough.
