In this project, EF Grantee, Olga Kravets, along with Maria Morina and Oksana Yuksho, explore the aftermath of war in a nation that has tried to break free from Moscowās control by considering nine levels of existence within one city.

The Hamiltonian Gallery
Eric Gottesman's latest work, 'One Needs To Listen To The Characters One Creates' explores and reinterprets the controversial Amharic novel 'Oromaye', by Baalu Girma. Gottesman's work is on display at the Hamiltonian Gallery in Washington D.C until January 4th and the Contemporary Arts Center in New Orleans until January 19th. NPR and EN FOCO Exhibition
Pete Pin, our first Emergency Fund Fellow in 2011,Ā was featured on the NPR Pictures Show for his project "Cambodian Diaspora." Read the whole interview here.
"One thing that I learned ... is that a lot of people felt really traumatized during their stay in refugee camps," says Pin. He adds that violence and rape were common.
Pin will also be showing at EN FOCO from April 29-July 19, 2013. The exhibition will take place at Moteflore Family Health Center at 360 E. 193 Street in Bronx NY. For more information visit the EN FOCO site.

Tomas van Houtryve, 2011 EF photographer, was featured in Foreign Policy for his photo essay "The Void Next Door" on April 9, 2013. The essay explores the barren border between North Korea and China. Alexis Lambrou, 2012 Emergency Fund Fellow, was published in New York Times Sunday Metropolitan section and featured on NYT Lens blog for her work "Teaching for Life." Lambrou followed Ferrin Bujan, a young teacher at Brooklyn Community Arts and Media High School and was curious to explore how new young teachers fared in the public school system.
