**On a side note, I'm disgusted and enraged about the execution that took place yesterday morning in Minneapolis and the kidnapping of people off the street in the past few weeks. I'm currently working on a fundraiser design to donate to help victims of these awful crimes, so be on the lookout for that in the next day or so - currently thinking the ACLU, but I'm welcoming any suggestions. ATTENTION, PLEASE! Emergency situation!

I have unexpectedly become temporary guardian for a child, who will be with me anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months. Which means I'm now a caretaker to three kids, including my own. I need to get them things like a mattress, bed sheets, a pillow, etc. Thankfully, I already have a spare bedroom, I just have NOTHING in it. They're sleeping on a camping cot right now, and I hate that.

Obviously I can't and won't give more details on the kid or their situation. But I want them to be as comfortable as they can possibly be here.

My husband and I are both in school full-time (he's getting his GED, I'm going to college) and only work part-time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Even if it's just reblogs.

The Skywalker Mothers - Emily Barksdale, 2024

Here's a mother's day illustration that I just finished - a tribute to the Skywalker Twins' mothers, Padmé, Breha and Beru 💙

I just finished my very intense first year of teaching, while simultaneously earning my teaching license. While art has had to take a backseat to that this year, I'm hoping this summer will bring some more illustration inspiration!
