reasons why veronica would kiss jughead in a hot tub

1. “Oh you think there’s no such thing as a meaningless kiss?” [demonstrates]

2. she’s kissed 2 out of the 3 people in the hot tub and, well, she’s a completist

3. the Black Hood is standing offscreen with a gun in his hand screaming “NOW KISS”

4. he’s really hot, guys, does she NEED a reason?

the reasons why veronica is kissing jughead is probably not the right ones but who gives a fuck i’ve been waiting for this since this show started

this blog just literally reared its head from a century-long nap coincidentally to the news of a teased jeronica kiss (or almost-kiss, because i don’t believe ras these promos will actually come through) and off the top of my head i’m listing my thoughts about it as writing prompts/fic ideas (these aren’t necessarily predictions of what’s going to happen in the episode, they’re just really ideas that rose from the concept of veronica, in a pool, taking jughead’s face Like That™ in archie’s presence. a lot of them deviate from canon as i like to ignore canon most of the time)

concept: veronica kisses jughead to prove that kisses don’t always mean something (as a reference to how maturely she took the revelation that her boyfriend kissed her co-vixen.) but then later one of them (i’m still not sure whether it’s v or j) realizes that that specific kiss does. but they’re very confused and immediately dismiss the thought, considering how both of them are with other people. sometime in the future, it’s brought up again, when they’re both single and closer as friends. they talk about it in a nostalgic fashion, possibly on a roof (?) and have a good laugh about it. “we were quite the youngsters, weren’t we?” one of them says. “you still like to sound pretentious every now and then, don’t you?” the other replies, laughing. 

lbr though, the writers probably decided one of them would be petty enough to want to kiss to call it quits for archie and betty’s kiss 🙄 but okay, based on that, concept where veronica uses that moment to prove a kiss means nothing sometimes. before she closes the gap, jughead’s hands move up her wrists to stop her. “i get it,” he says, out of respect for archie. “i already believe you.” they stare at each other for awhile, her hands on his neck, and his on her wrists, and she says, “it’s been awhile since someone resisted my charms.” jughead chuckles but doesn’t let go until she takes her hands off him first. later, he does wonder what it would’ve been like to kiss veronica lodge. veronica does the same.  

this alternate concept exists to serve my jarchieronnie interests, but veronica almost kisses jughead as a teasing “demonstration” of sorts because she’s aware of jughead and archie’s bond and chemistry (and while she’s attracted to both of them, she ships them together as well). i.e. “let me show you—” she kisses him, “—how archie likes to be kissed.” she smugly shrugs at his surprised expression. “for future reference, just in case you want to.”

another alternate jarchieronnie concept: veronica’s teaching jughead how to sweep a girl off her feet with a kiss. “archie, will you show him or shall i?” the surprised silence between both boys is taking too long for her (they themselves haven’t even addressed their own chemistry, which has been building up for years, and here, veronica casually does), so she rolls her eyes, takes his face in her hands and almost kisses him, looking directly into his eyes before looking at his mouth, and he closes the gap

concept: truth or dare, because it’s riverdale. veronica does it to get it over with, and jughead surprises both of them when he kisses her back. it was just a dare, they tell themselves later.
