Some things.
My final year film at university is finished! It’s a fairly simple little piece that I made with the intention of it being calming to watch. Please enjoy!
Some backgrounds for my (in-progress) final year film.
I finally got to a scanner so here are Thursday’s hourlies.
Hourly Comic Day is the Best and the Worst in equal measure and I cannot for the life of me draw well on February 1sts for some reason.
I had to do an Innovations project at university recently and I chose to study how character design might be approached differently when designing for British Sign Language. It was a really fun and challenging project and I’m really pleased with how the designs turned out.
My concept was for a little girl who explores the woods behind her house and meets lots of fantastical creatures there who use sign language just like she does.
Bits from a character design assignment I just finished at uni. I’m not the hugest fan of steampunk these days as it can be kinda overdone, so I picked the steampunk brief as it was an interesting challenge to try and do a steampunk design that I didn’t get annoyed with. The key turned out to be not making everything the same shade of brown.
Huzzah! Brace yourself! Episode 2 is on it’s way!

Currently working on background art for this! Episode 2 of the punderful Bertram Fiddle :)
Moose Kid Comics Issue #3 is out tomorrow and I am very happy to have illustrated a new page of ‘The Storymaker’ (episode 1 can be found in Moose Kid Comics #2)!
Moose Kid Comics is a great anthology of all-ages stories and is free to read online, with print issues in hospitals for kids to read there too! It’s something I’m extremely proud to be involved in and if you enjoy the comics please spread the word.
It’s gone up! You can read Issue #3 here! I think possibly Superhero Dinosaur Princess is my favourite one.

Super messy pink and blue sketching
spent my evening listening to Josh Ritter and fixing up old sketches to look nice.

Finally got time to finish my self-portrait. Lady Emmeline Kemble, if you please.
I really want to do more of these of other people and other art periods. It’s so, so much fun.
Hi all you lovely people, I literally have never posted anything like this so I’m a bit nervous. But please read this gofundme, it was created by my brother in order to help raise funds for my uncle’s hospital bill in Kenya. More information is on the gofundme profile :). I would really and truly appreciate if you could even just give a little bit towards it as everything counts. Thank you!! Message me if you want more information or anything!! Much love!
Painting this while listening to rainymood.com has been the most relaxing thing.
A bit of the finalised work I did for our second-year group film at uni. I did mainly design and matte painting work, and some small drawings for the credits.
It’s called Baby Owl’s Bad Day and you can watch it here!
Time for a quick art dump! I’ve been working nonstop for the last couple of months and I still can’t show much of it but here’s a bit of pre-production from a university assignment. He’s an angry boy-king made of smashed pottery repaired with gold.
I was trying to make him look really weak and breakable hence the giant unliftable scepters and big heavy cloaks but they didn’t work in the end so I shelved those designs. I like the final character! He’s sort of a mixture of Colin Craven from The Secret Garden and Joffrey from Game of Thrones.
