Emira Osman came into the world smiling and was curious as can be. Ever since she could talk, she was asking questions about the world and life and how everything worked. She grew up in a traditional Turkish family and her parents immigrated to the United States ten years before she was born. 

Emira wasn’t an only child, she had an older brother who got everything that he wanted. Did she care? Sometimes, but she was determined to live her life how she wanted to, while still following her parents rules, of course. Her father couldn’t stop talking about San Francisco, California so when her mom and him immigrated to the U.S, their first stop was San Francisco. 

They lived there up until Emira was two years old and then found Half Moon Bay, just a 45 minute drive outside of San Francisco and have been living there ever since. With her father working as an high end lawyer and her mother a top real estate agent, they grew up in Ocean Colony and were residents at the Colony Club. 

Everyone knew the Osman’s were well off, but their family never acted like it. Her parents taught her and her brother to be kind, humble and treat everyone with care and that’s how she was going to live her life. Being a happy kid, Emira didn’t have any trouble making friends and both her and her brother were competitive when it came to sports and schooling.

At an early age, Emira found herself interested in writing, journaling moreof. She journaled about her life, and what she noticed and eventually carried her journal everywhere she went. In high school, she kept her head down in the books as she wanted to get into a great university while her brother was the popular jock. He kept his head in the books as well so everyone loved him. He was smart, kind and athletic and Emira was the nerdy one.

When her brother went off to college, she was excited to have more time to herself and while she did have more fun, she continued to study hard. She graduated a year later and went off to study at University of California, Berkley, staying close to home. 

While at Berkley, she studied her ass off but also made sure to have a lot of fun. She drank, tried some drugs and slept around all while keeping her appearance and attitude innocent for her parents, not wanting to disappoint the family. She dated a few guys, nothing serious as she wanted to focus on herself and her goals.

Emira always had an eye for fashion so after she graduated from Berkley, she traveled over to New York City and lived there for five years, studying fashion and what it took to always look chic. Emira always had great style and felt confident by wearing designer clothing. 

As wealthy as this all seemed to be, Emira was missing the simplicity of her home. Moving back to Half Moon Bay wasn’t easy as she was going to miss New York, but she missed her family and couldn’t wait to be home. Once arriving home, she quickly opened up her own boutique, calling it Cove Boutique and it became popular. 

She got her own house in South Coast and while visiting her parents often, she made sure to keep living her life the way she wanted to. Now at 31 years old, Emira has been back home for 4 years and is living each day to the most. She still journals everyday and even though she has never had a long, serious relationship, she is ready to settle down and have a family of her own.

Lale sat on the floor a bundle of kittens in her lap, swatting at a feather she had plucked from the basket of toys. She was wondering if she could convince Ben to get a cat while holding a fluffy one such light grey it was almost white. She only stopped the cuddling when she felt someone else sit down, and she delicately placed one of the kittens in their lap. "This one is spoken for." She said playfully, brushing her finger down its nose. "At least for now."

Emira had always loved both cats and dogs growing up but never had her own. She would've loved to take one home for herself and as it was tempting, she just couldn't see it happening quite yet. Finding herself sitting down with the kittens surrounding her, she saw Lale placing one in her lap and she grinned. "They are all just so cute!" She exclaimed, immediately petting the one snuggled up on her lap. "What would you name this one?" She asked with a chuckle, hearing the kitten purr as she stroked its back.

“Valentine’s Day is just a capitalistic money grabbing industry. It was created by the greeting card companies, and it’s doing nothing but boosting chocolate sales. It’s the worst holiday.” Malakai said shaking his head “but for all these cute animals, you best believe I’ll show up and show out.”

Emira turned her head at his words and a soft chuckle escaped her lips. "So you've been single for that long, huh?" Emira raised a brow though she teased him with a smirk forming on her lips before looking at the animals that were being played with and adopted by others. "Are you hoping to take one home for yourself?"

Even though Emira didn't have a pet of her own, this didn't stop her from attending the annual event that came around close to Valentine's Day. Making her way to the bar first, she ordered herself a glass of wine to start and turned around to people watch. Of course she was smiling at the sight of everyone with their pets as well as the ones waiting to be adopted. It wasn't until she saw a familiar blonde come up beside her and she raised her drink in a greeting. "Owen," his name rolled off her tongue smoothly, "It's good to see you. How are you doing?"

In life, Alycia had a few guilty pleasures. One of them being junk food, something her husband didn't care to keep in the house. He was a health nut, but she was a sugar addict. The only thing Aly loved more than sweet treats was Taco Bell, and the brunette helped herself to some of the beautifully decorated Valentines cookies.

Emira had been staring down the Valentine's themed cookies for a while so when she got a chance, she made her way over to the table and started to eat one. It was then she heard a voice beside her and she chuckled at her words. "It's not, but if it was, it's a damn good dog treat," she joked with a smile as she finished the cookie, very happy that it was a human treat. "I'm Emira by the way," she greeted, picking up another cookie as she did so.

"after you..." vince held the door open for the female behind him before walking in to the bakery himself. with a soft sigh he looked around before speaking. "who knew everyone in the city felt like getting pastries today." he joked to emira in front of him. "wouldnt happen to want to skip out on the pastries and just hit up the diner for some real breakfast would you?"

"Thank you," Emira smiled at him as he opened the door for her to enter the bakery. Her eyes instantly closed as she took in the wonderful smell, enjoying it only for a moment to be bothered by someone bumping into her to get to their table. Sighing, she opened her eyes and looked over her shoulder at Vince and nodded. "That sounds great to me," she smiled. "Come on, let's go." Turning around, she walked past him back outside and started towards the diner. "So, you were telling me about your work? How's that been going for you?"

“Your turn, huh?” A hint of amusement tugged on his lips, almost surprised at the boldness of her words. Even if she was teasing, Eren took it upon himself to stare at her intently, having multiple thoughts dance across his mind that weren’t exactly as innocent as Emira’s had been. “If we’re sticking with your Greek theme, nymph is the first that comes to mind. Physique, cheekbones, jawline, smile.” He made it a point to stare at each as he brought highlight to them, before returning to their normal conversation. He wasn’t used to smaller towns, but it seemed a common theme for people to return because it was their home and they knew everyone there still. “I suppose that’s how New York is for me.” He agreed simply. Gazing down at her, he returned the question with his own. “If you’re one hell of a tour guide, what would your starting point be? You’ve put yourself on a pedestal now, let’s see if you impress me and sell me on this place.”

When Eren started to compliment her, it didn't take long for Emira to bite down on her lower lip as she watched him stare at each part of her that he pointed out. Her heart rate started to pick up and she knew that she was blushing. He was so hot and of course she was going to feel nervous, but more excited. It also didn't take her long for her to think about what his hands would feel like against her body, or what his body looked like underneath his clothes.

"We're a hot pair," she said confidently with a grin as they continued their walk together. "What brought you to Half Moon Bay?" She asked, looking back up at him again and meeting his gaze, a smile still formed on her lips. Her smile quickly turned into a smirk when he asked where her starting point would be for the tour and she ran her fingers through her long hair. "For starters, I can impress you in more ways than one," she flirted with a purr, keeping her eyes on his for a long moment before looking away. It wasn't too cloudy quite yet so this was perfect. "I'm taking you to one of my favorite views and where I spend most of my summer at, Mavericks beach," she told him and looked at the time on her watch. "It's almost sunset time so it'll be gorgeous."

Half Moon Bay always seemed to have the perfect weather whenever she was visiting. Staying--she often had to correct herself. Half Moon Bay was her home away from home, a second-base, somewhere she could embrace her independence from her parents. Not that she didn't love them, but being able to have somewhere else to decompress and unwind was a blessing. Having Connery in her life was a blessing. And yet...

A splash of color caught her eye causing Alara to stop in her tracks, staring at an art piece displayed in the window of the gallery. Obnoxiously large, just the way Alara would've liked it had she had her own place. Colorful, but not blinding. Almost like a Monet but not quite. She could think of several places it could've fit on the large walls of Connery's--her--home. "Sorry," She uttered, not taking her eyes off the piece but managing to somehow make more space for the person that had been walking along the sidewalk. "I was just picturing this piece in my home. It's beautiful."

Sipping the coffee she just bought from the café close to her boutique, Emira smiled to the taste and warmth of it as she walked back. Her boutique was in the heart of this beautiful coastal town and she loved all of the neighboring shops. Not being able to walk without working, Emira's head was down to her phone as she was responding back to an email when she heard a voice. Glancing up to see a woman looking somewhere, she followed her eyes to see the art piece she was talking about and stopped in her tracks. "Yeah, it's gorgeous," she said, moving towards the woman's direction to get out of the way of the sidewalk. "Are you thinking about buying it?" She asked, a smile forming on her lips as she finally turned her head to look at the woman beside her. "I'm Emira by the way," she greeted with a smile, hoping to make a friend.

“You’re mad at me, I get it. Get in line.” Last he checked though, not picking up a phone wasn’t exactly a crime. Knocking someone up however? Should’ve been. In other words, he had bigger fish to fry. Tiptoeing around someone’s feelings wasn’t exactly on his bucket list this week. Regardless if they were close or not. “Or rain check. I could really use your help.”

"Mad at you?" Emira questioned, more to herself really as she thought about why she would be mad at Ryan. The last time she checked, they were friends and she didn't remember him making her upset about anything. Shaking off the question, she looked at him with interest when he asked for her help, always wanting to help no matter how she felt towards him. "What do you need help with?"

Emira was just closing up at the boutique and she was excited to be getting dinner with Jay and getting caught up. It's been a while since the two got together and gossiped and had some fun. Right as she was finishing up the last part of closing up on her computer at the front desk, she popped her head up to see Jay walking inside. "Hey, Jay! I'm just finishing closing up here and will just be a few minutes more," she told him with a smile.

“How could I not recognize you? You look like you were sculpted by the Greek gods themselves,” Emira pointed out with a soft chuckle, making it known that she was attracted to him and was sure he had gotten that same comment a lot. Noticing he kept his words short, she nodded as they walked together. “Yeah, my holidays were great, thanks,” she smiled. “I’m from here. I was born in San Francisco and my family and I moved here when I was two so Half Moon Bay has been home ever since.” She wouldn’t have it any other way, she loved living here. “I lived in New York City for five years after college and moved back to open up my own boutique.”

“I do?” Said as though surprised, but the flattery of the words was appreciated, evident in the shit-eating grin that formed. Shameless to say he was used to it with the world he lived in, born with a silver spoon in his mouth and people desperate to climb the social ladder into the good graces of the Demirci name. Emira didn’t seem that way–at the moment, at least. Eren was naturally guarded around others, keeping them at an arm’s length, making them work for whatever it was they needed, wanting them to get to the point. “You could’ve opened your boutique in New York, why did you come back here?” The question was presented as an opportunity to elaborate, perhaps even questioning her sanity for leaving New York in the first place what with her having lived there for five years after college. “I guess this could be a tour opportunity, if you want to show me what you’ve got.”

When Emira watched as Eren grin to her compliment, she nodded, a similar grin forming on her lips as well. "You do, yeah," she said, though added with more of a smirk now, "now it's your turn to compliment me," she teased with a chuckle. When he brought up New York where they first met, she bit down on her lower lip gently and shrugged. "As much as I loved New York, Half Moon Bay is my home and everyone that I love is here," she simply said, not needing to explain herself any further. The same grin appeared back on her lips when he mentioned a tour. "Well Eren, you're in luck because I'm one hell of a tour guide. Anywhere specific you want to start off at or been meaning to see?"

drew gave the female a bright smile when she had said his name. it had been nice to be back in a town where people had known him as drew and not andrew. it reminded him of who he truly was, the fun carefree man before all everything had suddenly mattered to him. "it has been a while, oh i'm alright, back in town.. hopefully for good but we will see.. how are you? how have you been? i feel like it has been far too long since i have gotten to catchup." he confessed as he took another drink from his cup. "catch me up, fill me in.. tell me everything i have missed." he chuckled sitting the cup down in front of him.

Emira nodded along to his words, happy to see an old friend. "Hopefully for good? What's holding you back?" She questioned with a raised brow before adding on, "or who?" She wiggled her eyebrows teasingly though genuinely wanted to know how he was doing. "I agree, it has been too long," she chuckled with a smile. "I've been well, thanks. Just been working and spending time with family and friends, nothing too special," she replied simply with a smile and sipped on her drink. "You're still looking as handsome as ever," she added with more of a grin this time.

Dom walked in easy step alongside Emira. Sometimes, it was as simple as being near someone and knowing they were comfortable it was his sweet spot, the place he most liked to exist. He looked down the bridge of his nose at her, “Love is blind-” He teased her choice of trash tv. “I like my reality tv with a little more trash.” He admitted honestly, “If it’s not Snooki getting belligerent with the beach cops while smashed on the shore is it even good?” Dom gave her a heavy eyed look, “I don’t like to kiss and tell, Emira.” He said smoothly and shrugged his shoulder. “Whats the next acceptable, needed holiday kiss, Valentines right?” He asked shifting from one subject to another. “Do you have plans for Cupid’s holiday?

"Oh come on, it's so bad that it's so good that you have to keep watching," Emira said with a laugh as they walked together, feeling at ease with him and not thinking about the stressors of work...or even her dating life for that matter. "You make a good point though," she said with a chuckle. When he brought up Valentine's Day, she shook her head. "I'm a single pringle, so no, I do not have any plans yet. Hopefully I do when the time comes but we'll see," she shrugged. "What about you?" She asked though nudged her shoulder into his arm gently. "I'm sure you'll have plans that night with you being your handsome self and all."

It had become increasingly easy for Connery to entirely forget the person he used to be. He went whole days now, weeks sometimes, on autopilot. Just going through the motions of his monochromatic little life, never thinking of the way things were at all. It was preferable, most of the time, because remembering was almost always akin to being stabbed in the heart. But the part of the past that he'd shared with Emira was separate enough from the painful parts that he felt something almost like happiness walking here with her.

"Me too. I missed you and your dorky little hats," he teased, pulling her beanie over her eyes like he'd done when they were kids. They used to get into all sorts of trouble together while their parents were in business meetings, making fun of the men in stuffy suits that weren't unlike the one Connery was wearing now. Everything had changed, but maybe not everything had to.

"I spent the holidays in Jamaica, actually, with my girlfriend. It was pretty cloudy the whole time, but it was good. How were your holidays?"

"Wait, wha-" Emira couldn't even finish her question as her beanie was pulled down from Connery jokingly and she laughed. "Shut up," she responded, teasingly nudging him with her shoulder, "my dorky hats and I have missed you too," she grinned. Although there was an age difference between them, Emira had always felt close to Connery ever since they were kids. She loved hearing how his holidays went and her ears especially perked up when she heard him say 'girlfriend'. "Jamaica and girlfriend? Tell me more!" She exclaimed and happily shrugged. "My holidays were fantastic, thank you. I just spent it with my family and relaxed a lot."

As much as Emira loved shopping for work and shopping in general, she loved walking the streets of the city in downtown just a little bit more. She enjoyed exploring just as much as getting her steps in so why not do both at the same time. “I’m glad we could finally get together and get caught up,” she said to the person beside her who chose to walk with her. “How have you been? Did you have a good time over the holidays?”

“Surprised you recognized me,” Eren said, having found the years flown by since they’d met at a show in New York. A blip on his radar, life continued moving for him, whether he liked it or not. “Holidays were fine,” With a chaotic family, what more could someone want? He’d blessed them with an entire week before jetting off to somewhere else to occupy his time and ring in the New Year. “You? Are you living here now?”

With her having requested him to flirt with her Elijah was already wearing interest and amusement on his features. The boldness, as much as it made her silly, was very attractive. "Then maybe we should hangout again, just with more purpose this time," he suggested, his shoulder gently nudging into her. "How about dinner Thursday night? If you like theater, the opera, or the symphony maybe we could head into the city." If he was going to do a date with her then he wanted to really make it so, as it wasn't often he got to show his flirty or romantic side. In all actuality he was often too focused on everything else to remember that there was that side to him. "How's the family," Elijah asked of genuine curiosity. "And what's this trashy TV show you're into?"

"I do, yeah." When Emira met his eyes as they walked together, she found herself smiling just a little bit more, now feeling more comfortable with the talk of seeing each other again. Chuckling to his nudge, she bit down on her lower lip for a moment and grinned. "Dinner and either the theater or opera sounds great to me," she said and added, "I'd say yes to symphony, although I feel like I'd fall asleep during the performance," she admitted with a soft laugh, knowing well that was embarrassing. The idea of a date with Elijah sounded great and she was already excited for it. "My family is doing well, thank you," she said before chuckling to the trashy TV question. "Right now, I'm watching Love Island and Love is Blind. What about you? What kind of TV do you watch at home to relax?"
