I guess Lasallians are pretty much aware of this in gate 1 because it’s kinda famous along with the buko juice stall, kwek kwek, chicken skin and more. But I know, too bad for 2014 batch - up to now because the said stall are already demolished.
When I was in college, me and my friends used to eat outside the campus. We didn’t say that food in food square is not good but we just prefer to eat outside the campus and I strongly believe most of the students does it also.
After class we usually went straight up to gate 1 to have some merienda. You want merienda? Name it, nasa gate 1 lahat. That’s why everyone feels so bad when we heard the news that the stores in gate 1 will be demolished soon and that’s what happened. It’s so depressing to see the gate 1 is so silent and no students passing by to buy some food like it used to be. Everyone missed the old Gate 1. The students passing by and eating, the food, the noise from everyone’s chikkahan and the Takoyaki. HAHA
Takoyaki is my boyfriend’s favorite. He’s one of the students who got so sad when the stores in gate 1 got demolished. He tried every takoyaki in malls but sadly he didn’t like it. He was like, “mas masarap pa rin yung takoyaki sa gate 1.” So we try to find it in the vicinity of La Salle - every Barangay and every Subdivision. And at last, we find it. If you guys have no idea what I’m talking about and curious what’s so special in this Takoyaki, here, i’ll give you a hint ;)
It’s a ball-shaped Japanese food made of flour filled with octopus inside, covered with mayonnaise and takoyaki sauce and sprinkled with onion leaves. It maybe doesn’t look similar to Japan’s takoyaki but the taste is legit! Pretty sure about that. Kuya and Ate, the sellers of this Takoyaki work in Japan so they learn the recipe in Japan and bring it here. I consider myself lucky cause they decided to put it in La Salle Dasma. Hahaha. If you wonder how much it cost, here:
Not so pricey, right? And they also sell other Japanese food like Yakisoba and this Tebasaki (It’s a Japanese style - deep fried chicken wings) with rice worth P78.00 only.
They also sell other various Japanese Food which guaranteed the authenticity and legit taste with affordable prices. Like Butadon (Pork bowl) and Korokke Balls (Japanese deep fried mashed potato with a mixed of meat) for only P35.00 for 3 pieces, Shoyu Ramen for only P55.00 and more.
So guys, if you want to try and really miss Takoyaki, you can find them in Brgy, Fatima I-K. Walking distance from Gate 1.
try and enjoy it, guys! :P
