DROWN

This is still one of my favorite OC Animatics/comics-set-to-music I've ever made 🥲

My OC Boreas gets put through the freakin wringer. An accident that killed Boreas' best friends, a terrible relationship with his divorced father, the proceeding alcoholic antisocial downspiral that leads him to ruin all his relationships, and getting involved with a gang that ends up turning on him and nearly killing him. His life seems destined for awful, until one fateful encounter with the ghost of his late friend Xenon and a puppy on the side of the road forces Boreas to turn his life around.

Eventually Boreas ends up cleaning up his act, rekindling a lot of his relationships, and even finds love. I hope his story will spark hope in people. 🥹

When I heard Caleb Hyles' cover of Addict, I thought it really fit my characters Xenon, Boreas, and Ferris ^^

(Since they aren't technically humans from Earth, it's normal for my OCs to have polyamorous relationships :V )

…this is very rushed/sketchy (especially the first half, yeesh), but I just really wanted to get my ideas to paper as quickly as possible ^^;

A cute little moment between Boreas and Xenon that I wanted to illustrate~ 🥹💕 (2022)

Based on this snippet I wrote in 2021:

[The middle of the night… Xenon's van…] Boreas sits up in bed, clutching his pillow… his face is cold, brow furrowed… His behavior awakens Xenon next to him… Xenon: (sleepily) "Bori… whatsup…?" Boreas: (muffled into pillow) "N-nothing…" Xenon rubs his eyes. Even half-awake he can tell that's a lie. Xenon: "Nightmare?" Boreas: "….y-yeah… sorta…" Xenon sits up next to Boreas, "…you thinking about the fire again…?" Boreas looks down, trying to hide his embarrassment, "Yeah…" Xenon smiles consolingly and lays an arm over Boreas's shoulders, "Hey- it's okay." Xenon: "You're here, Bori. You're safe." Boreas flashes a faint smile at that… but it quickly fades. Xenon can tell he said something wrong. All he wants to do is comfort his boyfriend, but something is still making Boreas tense. ……..finally, he realizes. "Boreas." Boreas feels Xenon grab his arms. He's confused, but reluctantly lets the pillow go. Xenon puppets Boreas' arms around him, into a somewhat awkward hug. Xenon looked Boreas straight in the eyes-- "I'M here. I'M safe." As soon as Xenon said that, tears began to well in Boreas' eyes. 'Oh no--' Xenon was freaked out-! But, as the tears streaked down his face, Boreas smiled with relief. Boreas' hug tightened-!! He buried his face into Xenon's chest and sobbed, "Yes…! Yes- you are-!! Y-you… you're here…!" Xenon's heart warmed a bit as he returned the hug, just as tightly, "And I'm not going anywhere."

Daphne Blue🩵👖🦋

My OCs Xenon and Boreas were in a band together, but it isn't until after a lot of plot stuff happens that they finally realize they have feelings for each other.

Man... To think if it weren't for this song, my most prolific OC ship would have never manifested... I heard Daphne Blue by The Band CAMINO back in 2020 and thought 'Huh, this song could describe Xenon falling for Boreas...' and now here we are, lol. These two have become a major part of the plot because of this. (Although they don't actually fall in love until the epilogue).

I like to imagine Xenon literally writes a song about his crush on Boreas, and it takes Boreas a while to realize it lol

My OC Boreas has so much trauma that his eventual relationship with Ferris ends up being a very slow burn... Even after they start dating, Boreas still gets surprised whenever Ferris shows him genuine love and care.

Missing His Dead Friends...

When he was in high school, Boreas was in a rock band with his two best friends Xenon and Bismuth. But then, a terrible on-stage accident led to both of them dying and Boreas barely hanging on with terrible survivors guilt.

The trauma still weighs on him, haunting him every day. Literally. Boreas doesn't realize it, but his late friend Xenon is now undead spirit… and feels awful that he can't help his old friend.

…so I was listening to Our Last Night's rock cover of Drivers' License and my brain was like-- "I'm going to choose to ignore the fact that this is a breakup song", lol

THE WORST PART OF YOU... IS ME.

My OC Boreas is a washed-up rock star who joins a local gang known as The Colds. Generally speaking his new friends are a terrible influence on him, but one redeeming quality is that they encourage him to make music with them... just not in the genre Boreas is used to.

My OC Boreas lost his two best freinds (and his sanity) in a terrible accident; ever since then he's downspiraled into a terribly antisocial, violent, alcoholic insomniac who pushed away anyone that could have helped him.

When he finally finds new friends… it's in some bad influences from a local street gang. Egging on Boreas' desire to let out his stress through the destruction of private property.

Frozen Crossover Shenanigans ❄️

When I was in high school, I was absolutely obsessed with Disney's Frozen, to the point of drawing an entire comic of my OC dressed up as Elsa and singing Let It Go.

So... when Frozen 2 came out... I couldn't help myself...
