The minute I met you, I was fairly sure i’d never encountered someone so incredible. You sent me such a simple message on Tumblr, and despite it being so short I couldn’t help but reply, and hope i’d hear from you again as soon as possible. A month after that, a month filled with long calls and endless texting, I sat nervously on a train with butterflies in my stomach, realising i’d be able to kiss you for the first time. Fuck. And everything went so perfectly from the get go, didn’t it? I laughed so much on our first date, my cheeks hurt. We spent all night talking and…well…so that I fell asleep on the train home the next day because i’d been awake for such a wonderful 24 hours. And we fell in love so fast and so confidently and it didn’t matter that the coach journeys took seven hours each way and it didn’t matter that we were 260 miles apart...it didn’t matter. But then one day you called me and you were on your way down and you’d left you job and that was that- we didn’t look back. Three months after that, we went to the lake district and I told you I couldn’t imagine life without you. Would you marry me? Fuck yes, you would! We kept it quiet for six more months, finally telling everyone on our anniversary, and it’s been so wonderful ever since. We have such wonderful families, such support, and now we are saving up for a mortgage and a house in six months, when i’ve finished university. 

I am so glad you sent me that message.
