RIP Magia Record. Hope Exedra will be good

((I may come back here relatively soon. This is the one canon muse I’ve ever been able to keep all of these years.

I have also come back to Magia Reco JP and my account is flourishing compared to what I had on NA (I have been blessed with a 4 slotted Sasame (and then ANOTHER dupe) while I haven’t seen her story stuff yet I do love using her) I also have my Baby Kyubey that I use all the time and is also one slotted. One day I hope it will be four slotted but I do need to also get Madokami when they both come back in August. With the second half of season two coming soon I’m sure my focus will be on Madoka Magica in the near future. So expect some activity of some kind.))

every time i see someone characterizing kyubey as Evil Bad Guy i am owed another $10

like. yeah. to us the things kyubey does are cruel and hurtful. but to kyubey, we are the strange ones! they say multiple times that they don’t experience emotions, and it’s clear that death as a concept means little to them too (see: when one kyubey is killed, another quickly takes its place). and kyubey and their species’ ultimate goal is preventing heat death via entropy. technically (and this is a HUGE technically, because again, kyubey’s morals are different) this would lead to far more lives saved in the long run.

but we’re humans, and we care about the here and now. we care about the quality of our lives and the happiness of those around us. what kyubey sees as a method of holding off entropy, we see as torment of an innocent soul until it falls into the depths of despair. it is these very emotions that help stave off entropy, at least according to kyubey. and kyubey isn’t strictly dishonest, but instead a liar by omission: when characters get mad at them for not telling them the whole truth, their reply is “you never asked.”

kyubey is not a positive force for our characters, and in terms of madoka magica’s narrative they are an antagonist for sure. but in the grand scheme of things, kyubey’s species just doesn’t comprehend emotions, mortality, and the like in the same way we do.

Help, clicking the link to save my magical girls isn't doing anything! Is it because I'm clicking it from my browser instead of my phone? All I see it a picture of meguca and mami and the witch font.

((You need to use your computer, but the server is closed now so there’s not much you can do about that. Sorry :( You can still enjoy the game through the JP server and the Kamihama-io translation project if you want.))

((On a side note. I might come back here after Kamihama-io updates with Arc2 translations or I watch some subbed videos of it. I’ve been finishing some event stories in EN as well and I saw a few Kyubey bits that got my muse for him going again~))
