her dad reminds him a lot of his own parents : ruthless and willing to meddle themselves into their children’s affairs for the sake of reputation or out of sheer need to control every aspect of a life that isn’t theirs. he’s begun to tune out the sound of her father’s voice after the threat of contacting his parents ( a cherished talent he’s developed over the years ), but ears are piqued at the mention of some family wanting aria to meet their son. and the fact that her dad wants that when hosuh is already playing the role of her boyfriend. he can’t lie that it makes his blood boil the tiniest bit, the grip on her hand tightening minutely ——— sure, he hates the idea that he’s so disposable to her father. and even more than that, he hates the possibility that this lee family’s son could actually be an upgrade from him. probably is. at least the other male won’t be in the midst of an engagement. hosuh hardly has time to register her father’s goodbye and haribo being substituted for his name, disbelieving scoff leaving him ——— the guy is the textbook definition of an asshole. hosuh had always known that, too, but their extended time apart made him prone to forgetting just how intense her father was. ❛ yeah. he’s a dick. ❜ he’ll exhale, hands placing themselves in the pockets of his pants as he stares off in the direction the older man had just gone. ❛ are you gonna meet that guy ? ❜ does his best to sound casual and not like he’s bothered by the idea of her meeting someone else, head tilted in question.
she sighs heavily, slender fingers running through her brown locks while anxiously tugging on the roots. the brunette looks over at him curiously with a brow raised slightly. ❛ i mean, i don’t really have much of a choice ?? i doubt he’ll let me get out of that one. ❜ his genuine concern going completely over her head mainly because she simply thinks hosuh’s only worried about this guy interrupting their plan not that he’d potentially steal her away. ❛ i’m sure it’ll just be some formal introduction, ❜ or so she hopes, ❛ it’ll be quick, besides, you can always step in the middle of the conversation and introduce yourself as my boyfriend to ruin things. ❜ however, there was a tiny part of her that was actually interested in meeting this mystery guy. despite it being exactly what her father wanted, he could potentially help aria move on when the time came since she couldn’t keep hosuh on her arm forever. ❛ let’s worry about that later, okay ?? ❜ for now, she just wanted to be a girl wandering around an extravagant hotel with her boyfriend even if it all was a lie. ❛ c’mon, ❜ she urges before pulling one of his hands out of his pocket and lacing their fingers together almost naturally.
