Just to really quickly get this out, but i love LOVE how Orange actually enabled so many characters to interact with each other and give a brief impression of how their ideals influence or clash against each other. I'm kinda comparing this to what I remember of TriMax, feel free to correct me if i got something wrong!
Meryl and Wolfwood and their very different upbringings and demonstration of humanity? Checked also i love tristamp stryfewood
Wolfwood and Legato and their approach to "faith"? Checked
Meryl meeting Zazie early and learn about the dynamic between humans as the settler colony and worms as the planet itself? Checked
Vash's companions learning more about him as well as another part of humanity and their attempt to live more harmoniously with its environment (with different levels of hopefulness and cynicism) on Ship 5? Checked
Meryl learning about the extent that people could go and facing several ethics questions when interacting with Conrad? Checked
Everything going on with Knives tbh
Several other examples i cannot think of just yet
While i personally find the pacing of tristamp to be pretty heavy-handed, i suspect the reasoning behind it was to build up as much anticipation as possible to get the series green-lit for more (which it did, hooray). There are reasonable criticism towards how they handle some characters that may water down what Nightow established for them in trimax (notably how they handled Elendira, Vash and his relationship with July, how the twins were represented in their youth), i'd still argue that the network of relationships feels denser in tristamp, thus has the prospect to explore them with diffent dimensions.
I really have high hope for what they have in store
