Fatherland (Paweł Pawlikowski, 2026) It's a high-contrast, black & white film right up my alley. Although it co-won Best Director at this year's Cannes Film Festival, it's a must-watch regardless of any awards, purely for the combination of Thomas Mann's life story and Sandra Hüller's Erika Mann. I heard the 'Challan Film Company' is bringing it to South Korea. (Yay!) It looks like I’ll just have to wait until this fall to watch it, though.

Something was glistening across the river, so I crossed the bridge to get a closer look. It was a hoop house. The afternoon sunlight was pouring down like rain upon it.

Park Young Sook (1941~10. 2025) As a first-generation feminist photographer in Korea, she gained attention for the works containing feminist narratives, such as the 'Mad Women Project'.
"Where were those feelings of alienation and depression built up inside me coming from?"
"What's wrong with you?" " What are you doing right now?" "Are you out of your mind?" "Are you insane?"
"People call them 'crazy bitches.' Yes, they are mad. They are not merely living; they are driven mad. Only through madness could they be free. At last, they sever the cords that bound them. It was healing. It was the hour of liberation."
