Reese isn’t terrible with crowds. Sure, he sticks out like a sore thumb at his height of six-foot-four, but his group members are always good about making sure he somehow fits in, whether via his clothing or the youngest member ducking down to somewhat fit in photos, to even carrying members on his back. And this company goes the farthest to dress their idols as expensively as possible as well. Vetements, Supreme, Gucci. There’s some combo of those from their performance of Naughty Boy. And when he’s done and they’re taking this lineup picture, he’s just greeting everyone. He’s the youngest, the moodmaker, the sunshine maknae. It’s expected.
And he’d just honestly been looking around, being his bright and cheerful self when their eyes met. The feeling was like nothing he ever felt. A click, maybe? But it was more than that. More than just the puzzle pieces clicking together. He’d only heard of this, hadn’t really expected that he’d ever feel this feeling. The wolfier side of him was practically reeling, wanting to run straight to the other boy and give him the tightest hug. There you are, I’ve been waiting what seems like forever for you.
The idea of soulmates was so unknown, but only because he’d never actually felt it. At least till now. Was this what soulmates felt like? And then added that his wolf had chosen him as well so quickly? It was taking everything in him not to beeline to him. A bright smile dances over his lips, Reese lifting one hand and waving brightly. Hi, he mouthed.
When the other boy smiled at him, it felt like a punch to the gut..but good? He wasn’t very outgoing, but his response was immediate. A smile appeared on his face, and he waved back like he’d known the stranger forever. Hi. He mouthed a second later. Usually he wouldn’t have the courage to interact with the idols, being they were outsides in the world, even if their company marketed them as an ‘idol band’, so why did he want to rush over there and tell him everything? Bohyun had been rather reclusive as a kid, but part of him imagines this feeling is like when you see your childhood best friend? A comfort and safety net. A ray of light. All those things he felt with someone he didn’t even know.
He barely registered when their leader started guiding him backstage, feeling panic seize up at him. “But..” He muttered, realizing they were being filed back. His eyes kept going back to the boy in the crowd, trying to keep track as he begrudgingly followed his group backstage, but eventually he lost sight. His stomach felt unwell, like he wasn’t safe anymore. He was surrounded by groups of people trying to find their waiting area, and he just stood there, members probably not realizing he didn’t keep following them. He made himself walk to a spot in the long hallway, where he tried to process what he was feeling and wondered if he’d be able to see the mystery idol again. That thought worried him. What if he wasn’t able to?
