do you have any advice on making hnk/rock ocs? are there are any specific characteristics of the particular gem that you implement into the design or personality?
I have a potassium feldspar character I'm struggling with 😔

Well for their design, besides the obvious (like, color) I try to see how I can incorporate any patterns or shapes the mineral may have if that makes sense? Like for example take pyrite, you could use it's cubic shapes to shape the hair and so! If the mineral doesn't have a specific strong look to it I just design the character based on their personality/story and my own tastes though lol (which is what i do 90% of the time tbh...)
Other factors like hardness also play a role in gem design in general and this is actually seen in the series, with higher hardness gems using longer stocking and gloves to avoid cracking the rest (see the diamonds) or Rutile covering their entire body as they are in constant touch with gems. If your character has a specific role that could also influence their design as well
I've seen some people use the gem's spiritual properties/uses as a way to define their character's personalities so maybe, even if it doesn't personally align with your beliefs, that could also be a guide on how to characterize them!
