EASY PISTOL MOD TUTORIAL How to turn a blue water gun into an epic pistol Okay so I forgot to take a picture of the gun before I primed it im so sorry, but it was origanly all bright blue.
Step 1 Get cheap gun at dollerstore! (This gun was 2$!!!) Step 2 Get your hands on metalic spray paint & some spray paint primer - I got mine at home depot, you can find it at any hardware store Step 3 This step will only work if your gun has a hole in the bottom like this one, stick it on a broom, This makes drying and spraying it alot easier! Step 4 Prime & dry Step 5 Paint & dry (2-3 coats) Step 5 Detail according to your character, ill be adding black to this soon after a few more coats
This will all, cost you under 20$ Under 5$ if you already have paint
This mod is fast and easy and a great start to prop making for new cosplayers.
IMPORTANT IF YOU PLAN ON TAKING YOUR PROP OUT IN PUBLIC/TO A CONVENTION:
PLEASE make sure when you’re painting it that you leave the tip of the gun its original plastic color. i’m pretty sure a lot of conventions ask that you do this for safety reasons. here’s a screencap of denver comic con’s weapon policy, as an example:
so just like…please be safe guys
^^^ Definitely this. You can also use a strip of orange tape if you want something you can remove for photoshoots, but be super careful if you’re in public with a realistic looking gun. Even if you have it orange-tipped, you should carry the prop in a bag when you’re outside of convention areas.
I use tape for my orange tips and you can use the Red Eye tool in most photo editors to strip the color out and make it look like a real gun post-prod. Always be safe with weapons at cons!
When are guys coming back to YouTube? please reply?
Soon we hope! We have a couple ideas but we plan on competing at Otakon's masquerade. It's more likely we'll update after July. <3
Heat Transfer Vinyl
Okay dudes I wanna teach you some magic today. I get a LOT of questions about what I use for designs on my Zelda costume as well as on my Matt Miller jacket. You can buy it on eBay pretty easily. I get mine here.
This stuff looks amazing and it’s SO CLEAN when you apply it. It also isn’t overly shiny, so it looks pretty great on most fabrics, which is why I prefer it to painting fabric. SO here is how the stuff works:
Heat transfer vinyl has two sides–a glossy and a matte side. You’re going to want to draw your design on the matte side, as that’s where it has the adhesive.
Draw your design and cut it out.
Place it matte side down, glossy side up on the fabric you’re using.
Iron! I put my iron on the highest setting just to be sure it sticks but some times this can warp the vinyl if you’re not careful. You’ll want to go over it a few times.
Peel off the glossy side and bam! You’re done and you have a kickass design on your fabric!
What are they doing, IDK. But BB!!
Have you ever needed to match your ribbed knit to your fabric but couldn’t find anything remotely similar?
Have you ever tried to dye your ribbed knit to match your fabric but realized it’s 70% polyester and it’s a pain in the ass?
Did you ever want to cosplay Final Fantasy and were reduced to tears because you couldn’t find chunky ribbed knit?
Don’t worry, you can fake your own.
All you need is a twin needle and two spools of thread, and you can sew your knit fabric to imitate ribbed knit.
When you sew with a twin needle it’ll make a sort of ‘pintuck’, raising the fabric. Leave a small gap between the two rows and it’ll create a pattern. This will work better with lighter knits, the one in the pictures is pretty heavy.
Once again, I set the instructions as captions on the photos.
