MHMMM. Fashion Week kick-off. Shall we start with the BCBGMAXAZRIA Full Spring 2013 Collection?
Check out Fleetwood Mac Tribute Album FT. The Kills, Best Coast, Tame Impala, Washed Out, MGMT and more.
"Key tracks: "Rhiannon," performed by female-fronted, garage-pop band Best Coast, reminds the listener of a young Stevie Nicks, but with a greater clarity. Bethany Cosentino's vocals imbue the track with a '60s girl-pop sound. The New Pornographers add a heavier, more uptempo edge to "Think About Me," while retaining the vocal harmonies of the original track. MGMT has the most re-imagined track on the album; its nine-minute, space-age electronic version of "Future Games" could only exist in 2012."

ABOUT KOAN SOUND
"Comprised of 19-year-olds Will Weeks and Jim Bastow, KOAN Sound has forged their own unique sound in the crowded field of today’s electronic music world. By consciously moving away from solely relying on the 140 bpm dubstep format and delving into a wider array of electronic genres, namely funky glitch hop as well as 80’s style synth and boogie, the twosome has garnered attention from major critics and artists alike, including Aphex Twin, who has played the duo’s music in his live set."
Interesting combo. Gerard Way has always embodied a high-energy realm of vocals, but a pairing with Deadmau5 would have been the last thing I would expect from either artist. Do you think it's a winning combo or a recipe for disaster?

Live Review: Tame Impala at Music Hall of Williamsburg
Tame Impala drew a wild audience to their sold out New York show at Music Hall of Williamsburg.
Music Hall of Williamsburg was a full house Tuesday night as Australian psych-rock band Tame Impala took the stage, mesmerizing everyone with dramatic dreamlike tracks back-dropped by flashing, pulsing and swirling neon green orbs.

Not bad.
I know this has been floating around for a few weeks but I would feel guilty not putting it on blast for everyone. The XX released their newest single entitled "Angels" on July 16th, which provides a solid backdrop for what to expect from Coexist in September.
It's nice to hear their progressive, yet consistent style of music doesn't stray too far from the lucid theme of their self-titled LP from 2009.
If I had actually gone into Flatstock at SXSW, I would have stopped at Frida Clements’ booth. I probably would have bought a few posters. But since I banned myself from the whole exhibition (keeping myself on a budget, even though its one of the things I look forward to the most at...
