Jonna Mannion on Endurance 1

Jonna, on the first season of a children's reality TV show with no expectations on what to do, took the initiative and made a list of who should be partnered with whom. That says a lot about Jonna as a contestant; despite being amongst the youngest, she still took charge and wanted to see harmony amongst the group. Ironically, she ended up partnered with Aaron, who was one of four people who turned against the List (for unknown reasons).

And yet, they became a dream team, something really rare amongst shows like this. They won six missions, never went up to the Temple of Fate once, and had the strongest alliance on the show. Despite switching alliances at the beginning (rip the Brotherhood), they remained loyal to their new allies, which carried them all to the final three.

But what's more important than these successes was Jonna's integrity throughout the show. When discussing about her time on The Challenge, an interviewer suggested that it was the embodiment of "good things happening to good people", which Jonna showed signs of on Endurance. She refused to betray her alliance even when they seemed to have her own motives. She knew who to call out and did so. And even when Jonna made hard decisions, she took it hard when somebody was hurt because of it.

I'm not sure about her Challenge gameplay, but at least on Endurance, she's a firmly lawful good character. She plays the strategic and social games with aplomb, and is basically a master at puzzles. Basically, a worthy start for such a spunky, spirited, and determined contestant.

Jeszie Geronimo on Endurance: Tehachapi

If there's one thing which stands out about Jeszie, it's her outspoken personality.

In her intro when all 20 contestants first appeared, Jeszie asserted that people follow her, not the other way around. This played quite a bit when she first partnered up with Isaac, in which people thought Jeszie controlled Isaac in what they wanted to strategize on. However, they frequently want on different tangents, which would blow up in "Hang 5" on whom to give the Samadhi to.

While Isaac was more chill and willing to get along with everybody, Jeszie was spunkier, to the point where she said that everybody got along better "now that Julie was gone". She played the game in a way which could put people off, but I never considered Jeszie as a proper "villain", so to speak. She only stood out in a more relaxed season, with contestants who want to be friends with each other.

And Jeszie showed she cared about everybody inthe end. While deciding who would give the Samadhi, Erika whispered to her to give the Samadhi to Red while Amelia was talking, which ultimately caused her to break down. It was a sudden dash of emotion from somebody who didn't want to express them, and revealed that Jeszie had a heart underneath it all.

When the Green Team got eliminated in "Circle of Trust", J.D. had this to say to Jeszie before they left:

"...Jeszie, to see you in the beginning, and how tough you were, and how you didn't want to let anyone in the inside. And to see you now, makes me see how great of a connection, how great of a friend, you made in Isaac."

I frequently think about it, as a fitting description of one of the more complicated contestants on Endurance, on one of the more complicated teams. But oh man, Jeszie was still so special, and E4 would be completely different without her.

Taylor Sico-McNulty on e5

Something about Taylor made me want to root for her more than anybody else on the show. She was indeed the girl who cried a lot, to the point where both the other contestants and some of the audience were put off by it. It translated to a less than stellar social game, which put the Blue Team through quite a lot (including getting her partner switched!)

Despite the obvious flaws, Taylor still holds her own as a strong competitor.

She won two different missions with two different partners, showing how well she could work throughout it all. She also had a spindly tongue and a good sense of banter, which surprised me in how she can interject some quotes from time to time! And with Connor, Taylor managed the impossible on endurance--surviving three trips to the Temple of Fate.

Overall, Taylor (especially in contrast with Bryanah from season 3) is more anti-heroic, as she had a more abrasive personality and wanted to fit in with the main clique. Nevertheless, she was resilient and delivered when the competition demanded it, which against the popular group this season, has to mean a lot.

And she made it to the final three when nobody believed she would, on a team which took all the blows and kept on going.

(Blue getting eliminated in All Tied Up will never not be sad. I was only able to rewatch that episode recently.)

Taylor Sico-McNulty (e5) in "It's a Drag"

I was inspired to do a gif set after seeing Taylor grab for Connor's hand while J.D was discussing how it takes teamwork and trust to complete the mission. That was a good trick of the editing.

And the overall snark Taylor brought to Orange was just funny.

the google drive links for seasons 3-6 seem to not be open to the public... is it possible to share them again? Ty for hosting them at all, since they seemed to have otherwise disappeared off the internet and my sisters and I really want to go back and watch :)

Heya! Was a huge fan of show and loved watching when I was younger and even tried out(unsuccessfully). I was wondering, had anybody ever traveled to the Tehachapi Mountains to see the team poles that were decorated? Id love to take a trip there some day and see them but I doubt if anyones ever found them. Thanks!

Not that I know of! I know the treehouses they painted in E5 were torn down shortly after production ended :( so I’m not sure if the Tehachapi poles are still there, but if they are it would be sooo cool to see them in person!

Okay, yank you! I wonder if we ever played with each other then lol. Thanks for running this account! Crazy to me that Endurance has been off the air for almost 10 years and that there are still people like myself obsessed with it ... wish I had access to High Sierras' episodes! (I'm the one who converted Tehachapi. If you know who provided us with Hawaii, please send them my most sincere thanks!!)

Aw, you’re welcome and thank you! And thank you again for your time in converting Tehachapi for us 😁 trust me, I am right there with you on High Sierras haha. It is my favorite season. Most of the episodes have been recovered, though! If you check the drive I think there are only 2 or 3 in total that are still missing 😉
