My fire burns hot

Not sure how the nickname Bones came to be. It was so long ago but it's my name and personally it fits perfectly. ((Part of Kingdoms at odds rp group.))

Back Home {Flashback} || Bones and Eira

Eira let Bones pick her up, a bit confused as to what he was doing, but he accepted his jacket, finally feeling her body return to her normal temperature. “Bones, what are you doing?” She asked, watching him as he shifted, her head having to strain a little to look up at Bones completely now with his new powers. She watched him, worried, but she got up to her feet and moved away from the torch like statue, getting a bit of distance from the flames now that she was finally at a normal temperature.

"Lighting the beacon. The world can know that we are back." He said simply as he turned back into his human form. He looked exactly the same, sounded the same, and moved in the same way except he did look wiser. It was in his eyes. He went back to Eira, and rubbed her shoulders. "How do you feel? Warmed up a little?" He smiled softly.

Eira looked up at Bones, a little confused, wondering how people would see the light, and who exactly was he informing? “Oh- There are more dragons out there?” She asked, having for so long thought that her sister, Bones and herself were the only ones left. How many other dragons were around their home? Or in lands far away? But his question brought her out of her mind and focusing back on Bones. He looked so much older now, his eyes full of experiences he had just inherited not twenty minutes ago. “I’m okay. I think my body is back to normal.. I’m just tired..” She said, standing up slowly, her head spinning. “And dizzy…” Eira muttered as she fell into Bones, unable to stand fully.

Bones picked her up in his arms. He nodded slowly. "Yes, my little one. There are others. There aren't any other elders left but ones like you. Eira, this is big. We are coming back to the world. We will destroy the queen." He smiled at her, and kissed her forehead.  He started carrying her out of the elder city. "Good, I was worried about you there for a while. We'll have to train that new power you have." He let her stand on her own. "We'll head home, and you can rest." He was ready to go home. He wanted to see his house again, and get out of here.

Back Home {Flashback} || Bones and Eira

  He had a few tears in his eyes when she hugged him. He needed her right now, his darling daughter, she kept him from completely losing it. “I’ll get you home. There is just something I have to do first.” He picked her up, still keeping her close, hoping his body heat would warm her up. “I have to do this before I go.” In the middle of what used to be the courtyard, in the center there was a pillar with a giant bowl on the top (like a giant torch). He placed her on her feet and placed his jacket around her shoulders before he shifted into his new form. He was still blood red, but he had black and gold mixed into his scales. He was as tall as a castle now, and his eyes ice blue. “This may get hot.” He told her as he stared at the pillar.

Eira didn’t mind that Bones held her, leaning into him and shivered a little when he put her down, wrapping his jacket and her own cloak closer around herself. She wasn’t sure where he was going or what he was planning on doing, but she watched him as he shifted, her neck having to stretch back to look up at him completely. He was huge now, intimidating and well, terrifying if you didn’t who he was. But Eira knew exactly who Bones was, and she wasn’t even remotely scared of him, only fearing why she was taking so long to warm up and stop her shivering. “Hot is okay for once!” She called up to him, wondering how much he heard of her. “What are you doing?” Eira yelled again, studying Bones’ dragon face and new form, worried about whatever was going on in that head of his.

Bones smiled at her, and stood in front of the giant pillar. There were a few moments of silence before he raised his head, and blue flames came flying out of his jaw and caught the pillar. The fire was the hottest it had ever been coming from him. That had been his father's power, that he had passed on to Bones. 

After a moment or too the fire ceased and the bowl on the pillar was holding the blue flames, like a torch. 

"This flame, it has always been lit. It is a symbol of dragons being in the land. When the war ended the fire went out, now it is lit again because the dragons, we..." He turned his head towards Eira. "Are coming back, and this time we won't lose. This flame signifies hope in these dark times."

Back Home {Flashback} || Bones and Eira

  Bones immediately looked down at her when she spoke, the sorrow still clear in his light eyes that now seemed to be clouded over. “Not important…” he shook his head. “Are you alright? That’s the most important thing.” He continued to hold her in his arms, like she was a kid. He didn’t want to talk about losing his family again, after all that and now his family was gone permanently. Some still had a chance of getting their family back, but Bones, well Sigurd had just lost his family. TWICE!

Eira felt her head swimming and eyes kept going in and out of focus, her body still having a hard time keeping itself at her normal body temperature, (which was much colder than a normal persons) so she was glad for Bones’ body holding onto her. But he seemed upset and she realized that the rest of the elders had gone and it was just them, and it hit her. He had just watched his family fade away again. She used as much of her returning strength as she could to pull herself up and around his neck, hugging him. “I’m okay. I’m exhausted but I’ll be okay.” She told him after a minute, knowing he was worried about her as well.

More dragons || Bones & Eden

Bones flew slow enough so she could keep up. He enjoyed flying so much, and missed having a flying companion. As much as he loved Eira, he did wish she could fly better. “You’re welcome. Consider me family.” he smiled as best as a dragon could smile. 

"There are. My adoptive daughter is one, and there are a few families of dragons around. Ice dragons are rare, and shadow dragons are even more rare. Elders are extinct except for me…but mother nature told me that there were more out there, my father’s ghost did as well…" Bones sighed, eyes focused dead ahead.

She brought her wings down once more, propelling herself further. She could tell that that larger dragon was holding back so that she could keep up with him as they soared above the clouds. It had been so long since she had been able to fly like this, she had never truly met another dragon before, let alone flown with one and the experience was rather exciting to say the least.

A smile spread across her face upon hearing the word ‘family’ as a wave of happiness welled up inside of her. 

There were other dragons out there too. thoughts were racing through her head now at a mile a minute. She had never heard of ice dragons before but the thought intrigued her and shadow dragons were something that she certainly had never heard of, being completely blind that there were even other dragons in existence.

"Mother nature?" She questioned, looking towards Bones in confusion.

Bones kept his flight steady, just drifting through the clouds. It felt so nice to be up here, and it had been a long time since he flew with another dragon at his side. The last time was probably with his brother when they were flying back to the elder village to complete the spell. He could sense that she was happy, and it made him happy to have her here beside him. 

"Aye, she's around here. If you ask her nicely you might be able to see her. She's very good with advice, and she is very kind." Bones smiled at her. It was strange to know that she was around, but it was nice to know there was someone who was powerful and good, besides him, around these parts. 

"You will meet my daughter one day, soon probably. I'm sure more dragons will come. I can feel it in my bones."

Back Home {Flashback} || Bones and Eira

  Bones watched and noticed how cold she looked. She never got cold. Bones placed his hand on her shoulder, hoping the heat from his body would transfer to her. He was glad he was close to her when she toppled over. Without any hesitation he caught her, his reflexes getting even better thanks to the powers.Getting the powers hurt him a lot, so it must be terrible for her. He was sure she’d survive but he hated seeing her in pain. She was everything to him, his daughter, and his reason to carrying on.

He held her as Frig finished, and stumbled back. 

"She has Frig’s powers, and with that our business is done. We are no longer  welcome here." Bones’ father smiled and looked down at the two. "Take care of her, she’ll be stronger now. Help her control that power."

"Dad…" Bones’ eyes were wide as he continued to hold Eira, worried about her, but also panicking because his father was leaving for good.

"You know what you have to do, Sigurd. Guardian of Dragons." 

"Dad…Baldir! You can’t leave me…not again…please…" But he was talking to air now, the elder’s had vanished. Leaving Bones along with Eira. He couldn’t help but bite back the tears and hold her closer.

Eira felt herself fall and then someone caught her, who she eventually realized was Bones. He was warm and she still felt frozen, which wasn’t normal for her and it worried her. What if she never warmed up? But she heard some of what was going on, knowing eventually that her and Bones were the only ones left in the hall. After about ten minutes of shivering and stiffness, Eira sat up a little, dizzy and her mind a little foggy. “Bones?” She mumbled, looking over at him, her eyes having a hard time focusing on him but eventually she got a clear image of him in front of her. “What’s going on?”

  Bones, still exhausted, looked between Eira and the others. “What? Are you sure?” He didn’t go closer to her, knowing the heat radiating from him was too much for her. He looked at Frig before letting his gaze fall, he sighed, and nodded. “I’ll be right here for you, Eira. It will be okay. Trust me.” His voice was deeper than before, He continued to kneel on the floor, watching as Frig walked towards Eira. Baldir placed his hand on his brother’s shoulder. 

"Alright, Eira, you might feel a little pain when the power surges through your veins. It will pass, Sigurd is here." She placed her hand on Eira’s forehead before she let her power flow to her.

Eira looked back at Bones when he seemed to be more reserved about her taking Frig’s powers, and she gave him a small smile. “I’m sure Bones. I’ll be fine.” She said, her heart pounding and hands shaking but she felt like she might as well get it over with before she changed her mind and backed away from the opportunity. Eira looked up at Frig and nodded when she said there’d be a little pain. She was thought she was prepared for the amount pain that she would feel, but she was wrong. It was more painful than she had ever imagined, her brain and entire body really felt like it was freezing over. She enjoyed the cold but the feeling of her entire body being frozen over wasn’t one she could handle, and Eira felt herself double over, her legs locked in placed before she fell over.

  Baldir smiled “If anyone could do this Bones could. That boy was always the strongest. He just didn’t know it.” Baldir watched the scene, and smiled when the elder offered her powers to Eira. “Just wait until Bones has the powers, he’ll probably want to be with Eira. Knowing Bones…” Baldir sighed. The elder nodded “Of course I will wait. I needed her permission though since she’s not an elder.”  Both refocused on Bones who was gripping his father’s arm as the other elder’s gave their powers to him, his eyes were glowing bright blue. The heat in the room was just getting worse and worse until all at once it stopped, Bones’ eyes were still glowing and so was the rest of his body. He looked the same otherwise, maybe a little stronger but everything else. Slowly the glow faded from his eyes and skin. 

"It is done." Bones’ father smiled at his son before turning to the elders standing beside Eira. "Frig, you wanted to give a gift to Eira?" he smiled softly and Frig nodded. "She should have more power than a regular dragon, Bones needs family close to him."

Eira nodded, knowing she couldn’t take the powers without giving her permission and honestly, she was scared about taking them. But she was also intrigued and excited to be gaining some of the power of an Elder. Although it wouldn’t be much, most of it had to go to Bones. She looked over at Bones’ father once he spoke, and smiled a little at Bones. And she almost forgot about the Elders around them, before moving over to Bones’ side. “Hey. You did it.” She said, kneeling next to him, ready to help him if necessary. She was proud of him, having been able to come back home and take on all this power, but as much as she wanted to help him, the heat he was still generating was making it hard for her to stay too close to him, so she moved back a bit, still smiling at him though. 

But she turned back to the other Elders as they continued to speak, before standing back up and offering a hand to Bones to help him up. She was still nervous about having Frig give her power, and she let out a shaky breath, a couple snowflakes falling to the ground. “I think I’m ready..”

  Baldir smiled softly at her. It was a soft smile for such a large man. “It shouldn’t be. Without knowing he has been training himself for this. Each elder was, trained to get all the power by strengthening their heart. If he was younger you could worry but the power will not harm him physically.” He looked between his little brother and Eira. “I don’t know that part. Hopefully…” 

Bones could feel the fire, ice, wind, earth and even darkness flowing through his veins. The fire was the strongest, and sweat began to make his forehead shine. One by one the elder’s placed their hands on Bones’ head, all but one. An older ice elder looked at Eira. 

"I would like to give my power, or at least part of it to Eira." She smiled and looked at the other Elder’s then at Eira. "Do I have your permission?"

Eira nodded, looking up at Bones’ brother. “I hope he’s still him..” She said, sighing a little before turning her attention back to Bones. He looked like he was extremely hot, his face sweating and she could almost feel a difference in the air, it becoming slightly warmer. Eira didn’t mention it, but just took off her cloak, wanting so badly to blow snowflakes on her hands like she did when Bones kept the fire at home too large. 

But her attention was drawn to the elder dragon in front of her. She was a little surprised and taken aback by the offer. Eira wasn’t really sure how to respond, she’d never thought of taking on someone else’s powers. Maybe it would help her be better at, well, being a dragon sooner. So after a few minutes of just stunned silence, Eira smiled a little at the woman and nodded. “Yes, I’d be honored.”

  Bones was tired of hiding. It was time the world knew he existed and he would save Knighton, when the time came he would make sure the evil queen was destroyed. When she followed her took off into the clouds, flying up above them so they couldn’t be seen by anyone above the white fluff clouds.

"You don’t ever have to be worrying about flying with me. If you ever just want to go for a flight just let me know. No one will notice you, or if they do I will protect you." He chuckled as they continued to fly. He loved flying, he felt free and he got stronger each time he flew. "I am here to protect you." He looked back at her, and slowed his flight so they could fly side by side.

She smiled at Bones’ comment. It wasn’t everyday that she was told she didn’t need to be afraid. She flapped her wings again, bringing herself higher into the air, giggling when she passed straight through a cloud, the mist wetting her scales and washing her over with a pleasant coolness.

As he slowed himself to fly closer to her, Eden looked towards him happily. It was nice to not have to worry about being seen. To be protected by one of her own. “Thank you.” She said to him. “It means a lot to me.”

She furrowed her brow slightly staring down towards the world below them thoughtfully. “So do you think there are others out there?” She asked. “I mean up until now, I thought I was the only one, and now you’re here.”

  Bones couldn’t hear anyone all he could feel was an extraordinary amount of power surging through his veins, his blood pounding in his ears. He felt no pain, only power, eyes shining blue as he fell to his knees. Bones was basically glowing golden with his father’s hand still placed on Bones’ forehead. 

Bones’ father didn’t acknowledge Eira but someone else did. Baldir as a ghost placed his hand on Eira’s shoulder. “It’s okay. Father is giving Bones all of his power. I will do the same and every other elder here. Normally the power is passed on to all of the children of the elders but this time since little brother is the last elder he gets it all.” Baldir smiled softly. His voice was kind, and welcoming.

Eira watched Bones, worried. She hadn’t seen his eyes that bright before, and then he started to almost glow. “Bones..” She mumbled, before looking back at the hand on her shoulder. “He’s getting all of the rest of the power? Isn’t that going to.. I don’t know, be too much?” She asked, worried about Bones. She didn’t know how he would be after this. “Is he still going to be the same?”

  Bones’ gaze snapped back to Eira. “Let her in. She deserves to know what is going on.” He looked back at the elder council. They were about to retort but Bones’ father flicked his hand and the magic faded, allowing Eira to come in to the hall. 

"Sigurd…you don’t have a choice. I am sorry, Baldir should have taught you the consequences for the spell. I know it’s a lot to place on your shoulders, my boy." He placed his hand on Bones’ shoulder. "I can give you one thing from me that will make this journey easier." 

"But dad, this…" He couldn’t finish his sentence when his father placed his hand on Bones’ head.

Eira was a little surprised when Bones finally remembered she was there, and smiled a bit as she stepped into the room, looking around completely lost in seeing everything that remained of the Hall. It must’ve been gorgeous years ago. But her attention was brought back to Bones when he continued protesting, worried. “What’re you doing to him?” Eira said quickly, watching Bones’ face when his father’s hand went over his head.

More dragons || Bones & Eden

  "Good. Less work for me." He chuckled and also spread his giant wings after admiring how strong hers seemed. "Keep up. Let’s see how well you can fly, Eden." He stood up to his full height. 

Bones roared once into the sky. The ground rumbled and crows flew from the trees all around them. Bones no longer cared if anyone heard his roar, he was growing more and more powerful by the day. After the roar he shot into the sky, his wings causing leaves and dust to be picked up of the ground and trees like a whirlwind. He just hoovering in the clouds as he waited for her to follow.

She felt excitement bubble up inside her as adrenaline began to rush through her veins. She watched in pure awe when her new found friend spread his massive wings, surprised that he hadn’t taken out any trees in his movements.

She smiled in delight as he let out a loud roar, causing the ground to shake beneath her. She couldn’t help but worry that someone from the nearby village would hear them, but shook the feeling off instantly, trusting that Bones knew what he was doing. She shut her eyes tightly when a sudden gust of wind tore through the clearing and loose dirt and leave swirled around her as the elder dragon took off to the skies.

She stared up in surprise, again afraid someone may somehow spot the two dragons, but was soon lifting herself off the ground, taking off after the larger of the two into the clouds. She smiled as the cool wind arched over her spine, and even found herself laughing upon the pure freedom she suddenly felt as she broke through the clouds. “I haven’t flown like this in years.” She said giddily, staring down at the forest below them.

Bones was tired of hiding. It was time the world knew he existed and he would save Knighton, when the time came he would make sure the evil queen was destroyed. When she followed her took off into the clouds, flying up above them so they couldn't be seen by anyone above the white fluff clouds.

"You don't ever have to be worrying about flying with me. If you ever just want to go for a flight just let me know. No one will notice you, or if they do I will protect you." He chuckled as they continued to fly. He loved flying, he felt free and he got stronger each time he flew. "I am here to protect you." He looked back at her, and slowed his flight so they could fly side by side.

Back Home {Flashback} || Bones and Eira

  Bones just stood watched as the elders circled him., as if they were judging him.

"We need to make sure you are ready to take on your duties as the last elder dragon." The older woman chuckled and stood in front of them. They all ignored Eira, Bones because he couldn’t hear her and the others because they were just uninterested by her presence. 

"You are their leader now, Sigurd. You most protect the rest of the dragons and lead them so that our kind can strive once again." Bones father took a step forward. "That is the burden of the spell. The one who does it must learn how to restore that which has been broken. It’s your turn to lead." Bones father put his hand on Bones’ shoulder.

"NO! I can’t! I am not a leader…I can’t do this! You ask to much of me…" The panic in Bones’ voice was clear.

Eira watched, a bit annoyed that no one was hearing her, but she was also scared for Bones. He seemed terrified of whatever they were telling him. She could hear him yell ‘No’ and then she took a step forward, attempting to move into the Elder Hall, but she couldn’t move past the door. It was like they were blocking her out and she glared. That annoyed her more than being ignored, being locked out while the man who had taken her in when she had no one was looking as though he were terrified and panicked about what ever they were telling him. She huffed, snowflakes forming as she did, watching without being able to help.

Bones' gaze snapped back to Eira. "Let her in. She deserves to know what is going on." He looked back at the elder council. They were about to retort but Bones' father flicked his hand and the magic faded, allowing Eira to come in to the hall. 

"Sigurd...you don't have a choice. I am sorry, Baldir should have taught you the consequences for the spell. I know it's a lot to place on your shoulders, my boy." He placed his hand on Bones' shoulder. "I can give you one thing from me that will make this journey easier." 

"But dad, this..." He couldn't finish his sentence when his father placed his hand on Bones' head.

Back Home {Flashback} || Bones and Eira

Bones walked straight, and walked up the stairs to a round building with pillars all the way around it. You could look through one pillar and look out the otherside, well now they were crumbling and the roof was basically non-existent. In the center there was a round table and on a balcony, overlooking Eira’s home was a giant dragon statue and on the top there was a bowl that could be set alight. 

He still didn’t hear Eira and continued walking into the temple. There in the middle of the temple at the round table he saw all of the old elders. His father, his mother, his brother, the alpha of alphas, all of them as ghost like images of themselves.

"Finally the boy has arrived." The alpha of alphas said and stood up. "He’s gotten big and strong, do you believe he is ready?’ she asked with curiosity.

"I do. He’s been ready to take on my powers for a long time." Bones father said and smiled. It seemed like they had never really died even though they weren’t there.

"What am I supposedly ready for?"

Eira watched him move into a temple, where the Elders used to meet. She had always wanted to go into it, always seeing it from her window, wondering what the Elders talked about in there, or why other dragons weren’t allowed. She walked over to the door of the temple, looking in to see ghosts all surrounding Bones. She was wondering what they were talking about, not able to hear anyone clearly. “Bones? Are you okay?” She asked, wondering if he heard her at all either.

Back Home {Flashback} || Bones and Eira

  Bones didn’t notice Eira talking, all he heard was his father leading him on. Slowly the last Elder walked into the destroyed city, stepping over rubble, and other things before he came to the skeleton of an Elder. “Baldir…” Bones mumbled his older brother’s name. This was his older brother, the brother who had died so Bones could go through with the spell. 

You can bury him later. You will have the power to bury all of us but you have to come to me first. Sigurd, have faith in me.  

His father’s voice sounded in his head, and Bones nodded. “I will make sure you rest in peace brother.” Bones mumbled and ran his hand over the top of the skeleton’s head, before continuing through the city to the other end.

Eira was a little annoyed that Bones didn’t seem to hear or anything, as he continued to walk through the city. Eira followed, worried about him, especially as he stopped over a skeleton. Eira decided to keep her distance, but didn’t want to completely leave Bones on his own. He might need her help. She walked past it herself, wondering who it was, but didn’t spend much time, wanting to keep up with him. But he was much faster and seemed to make it to the other end of the city quickly, so Eira had to jog a bit to catch up. “Bones… What is going on?” She mumbled, knowing he didn’t her hear anyways.
