alright everyone i made a side blog for my stupid ahh infection au

so essentially enphoso gets really pissed off after the glaggle gang beats up his 3 best warriors. he decides to genetically engineer a cordyceps type fungus capable of turning glaggles into zombies. these hiveminded glaggles don't just melt after a while like enfosi. instead, they mutate into gross beasts designed to kill the weak and infect everyone else

20 years after the enphungus is made, a new glaggle gang (including the modifier species) is tasked with figuring out how to cure the hiveminded, keep each other safe, and maybe even convince an old enemy to help out

(disclaimer: this au is kinda spooky and will have diseases, body horror, major character death, some psychological horror, and probably some other stuff)

HE/HIM - 3'0 - ENGINEER

he may be scrawny and mentally unstable, but he makes up for it with the devices he builds. among these are his chromatic goggles, which saturate the world around him to make up for his partial colorblindness.

i know i said glaggles soon and it's been a few weeks without any glaggles, but i promise glaggles soon for real this time. there was some stuff going on irl that prevented me from thinking of and drawing all the designs

how does the fungus affect things like unphosians? same as the others or more torment? less torment?

unphosians would experience less physical pain but more mental pain

well, because it's not entirely goo-based, it can infect non-glaggles like borgacks. even the enphosians who regularly work with it have to wear protective gear while doing so

to directly answer your question, risios can be infected. this might even be relevant canonically at some point

only if you don't mind getting the mushrooms directly from a dead body. they might poison you, but they won't infect you. they're fairly weak to high temperatures
