The aim of this research was to investigate whether there is a correlation between sperm head morphology, DNA status and morphometry (CASA- computer-aided Sperm Analysis) in epididymal spermatozoa of cats.

The functional role of reactive species and the cytoprotective properties of melatonin on the ovary from oxidative damage are summarized in this brief review.
"Because of the different intrinsic characteristics of the classic IVF and intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) techniques, the timing of zygote development can be influenced by the method of fertilization. However, there is no information about the relevance of the insemination procedure on embryo-quality parameters as measured through their developmental dynamics. The aim of this work was to determine if the insemination technique, IVF or ICSI, influences embryo developmental kinetics by examining 1203 embryos from 178 couples undergoing oocyte donation with IVF or ICSI."

Genomic DNA was found in the blastocoelic fluid of 90% of the samples collected from human blastocysts. Genetic analysis of this DNA may offer an alternative strategy to gather information about the embryo.

Both the quality and quantity of sperm start to decline earlier than was thought, and older men become more likely to have girls

This remarkable film record of marsupial birth shows mating, the female’s preparation for the birth of her young and, finally, the birth itself. One birth sequence shows the natural behaviour of the mother as the young makes its way, unaided, to the pouch. A second sequence, with the anaesthetised female, shows the moment of birth more clearly and follows the embryo”s long journey up over the fur to the pouch, where it develops as an externalised foetus. The significance of the oestrous cycle and gestation period, egg fertilisation, and the development of the embryo in the uterus, is shown in animated diagrams. A puppy has been born from a frozen embryo for the first time in the Western hemisphere, Cornell University announced on Monday (February 4). The puppy’s successful birth is a hopeful sign for endangered canids, like red wolves and African wild dogs, for which conservation efforts may be aided by similar reproductive technologies.
California has cut it’s teen birth rate in half, thanks to mandatory comprehensive sex education.
Male Infertility
Male-factor infertility is a common condition, and etiology is unknown for a high proportion of cases. Abnormal epigenetic programming of the germline is proposed as a possible mechanism compromising spermatogenesis of some men currently diagnosed with idiopathic infertility.

"The development of the technique of in vitro fertilization (IVF) helped to make it possible for a couple to reproduce, to have a child, without normal sexual intercourse. Indeed this is the main point of the procedure: for there are many couples, about one in seven, who encounter difficulties in having children through normal sexual intercourse. For them, IVF provides an alternative way of creating an embryo from their gametes, with the hope that after the replacement of the embryo in the woman's uterus, a normal pregnancy follows, leading to the birth of a child.
