I immediately thought of youkai!natsume when i saw this prompt.......

Time passing / New beginning

Originally I only intended to have the lower picture where the book of friends represents time passing while simultaneously representing a new beginning for Natsume through all the friendships he makes because of it…

…but then I just had to do one with Reiko in fall because what is more appropriate to represent the passage of time as fall and what other colors scream Natsume yuujinchou as a fall palette!? 🎨

This illustration overlaps with many of the week's dichotomies.

It represents Time passing (Day 2) and a New beginning, as a chapter of his life closes. It's the Familiar (Day 3) turning into the Unknown, and it's undeniably a Goodbye (Day 5) to his past. The translucent figures of him and his father capture all of this in a single moment.

But I dedicated it to Day 1 because of Natsume's emotional journey in Season 4. Visiting this house before it's sold is a true experience of Loss. However, confronting the ghosts of his childhood allows him to finally let go. The hope here isn't about keeping the house—it's about finding peace within himself after accepting the loss.

days eater au but natsume was also transported to his childhood home..... they search everywhere but can't find him until they hear quiet muffled sobbing and they open the closet to reveal a crying baby Natsume...... and they're able to tell baby Natsume of all the things his bigger self gets up to!!!!!!

There is nothing that is more suitable to this prompt in my mind than Natsume Takashi.

The loss he experienced and the hope he found. How the youkai went from something terrifying to beings he cares for in moments of joy, hope… loss.

A moment where the two worlds of his overlap unintentionally always gets me; the lonely crow Touko-san though was alone, but Natsume saw its partner. It gets me every time. I’m emotional just thinking about it. Loss turned hope right there. Ough….

Siempre he tenido el head canon de que Nyanko-sensei es de raza Munchkin.

Digo, es un gato gordo, con mucho pelo, cabeza grande y de patas cortas.

Además las pocas veces que lo vemos actuar como gato en el anime y manga me parecen adorables!
