this is it. my phone is the only access to all my tumblr accounts and it’s so outdated it will no longer run this app soon. to all I’ve met and if you’re still around, it’s been fun.

had a dream it was 2011.

I just returned from class and was scrolling the dashboard. It was more of a faded blue back then, the red new posts bubble was always stuck on 20.

My blog was a grayish-white with black text and still titled TK-421 Do You Copy. We had a sense of community those days.

I was so full of hope and promise back then

End of The Sims.

If you haven’t heard, EA just fired most of The Sims team and silently killed the franchise (what was left after the closure of The Sims Studio at least) and moved the remaining team to the mobile division. This means that there probably won’t really be anymore Sims games for PC or Console other than maybe a few stuff/expansions for TS4. (and I have a strong impression that The Sims Mobile won’t last very long either.)

It seems like they’re trying to pass off what’s happening as just some layoffs for budget reasons and down play what’s happening.

I never really believed the Cubs were cursed. It makes for great drama and great narratives, but someone who has followed baseball and sports for most of my life, I’ve always understood that all the numbers and variations mean that a team theoretically and realistically can go 108 years without winning it all in a 30ish team league.

Think about it, 30 teams, 108 years; that means every team could win just over three times before the Cubs (or anyone) won it once in that span, and there are six teams yet to win it (and two that haven’t even made the World Series). Hell, I’m 26 years old and even if every team won once in my lifetime, there would still be a few teams that I have yet to see.

Curses, bad luck, futility; they make great storylines but the Cubs haven’t even been that historically bad. They choked in a few key moments but they still have the sixth highest winning percentage all time, are tied for 10th in World Series titles, and tied for eighth in World Series appearances.

Sure we are probably going to hear about the rain delay in game seven as the climatic chapter in a novel of goats, black cats, and Bartmans, while endlessly being compared to Curt Schilling’s bloody sock or Dave Roberts’ stolen base, but the Cubs were not a cursed team. They were a statistic reality in a game of numbers, probabilities and projections.
