Entropy Zines is a team of people with a love for developing and creating fanzines, and we are looking forward to get into lots of new projects that will change our artistic lives and expectations.

But we created this project for a reason, and Entropy Zines is slightly different than any other zine-dedicated team. We, as artists, have known the struggles of being practically unknown in a sea of talented people with a wider reach, especially in some big fandoms. These people definetely deserve it, of course! But we know how exhausting it can be for little artists to feel like the chance of participating in a zine is extremely small while comparing it to that of some popular people.

That’s why we compromise ourselves to choose AT LEAST a 50% participation of smaller artists (generally counting smaller artists as people with <1000 followers on social media, might vary depending on the fandom of the zine in question). The purpose of this is to give smaller creators visibility and, hopefully, a reward for their well-deserved creativity and skills.

Of course, this isn’t as easy as it sounds. Maybe the smaller artist quota doesn’t have enough quality, or there aren’t as many as we expect. That’s why we want to have maximum transparency with our choices as moderators: everything that happens, will be communicated.

What will our projects be focused in? We are interested in any kind of zine, especially anime/videogame and pop culture related and anything that will give visibility to the LGBT+ community. But that’s not the only thing you will hear about!. Entering this team will mean that you will also have a voice in what projects we will launch, do you like Magical Girls and are interested in launching a zine but don’t know what people to trust? Join Entropy Zines and make it an easier and less troubled work. Every zine idea will be discussed and anyone who suggested it (and is willing to) will be the Main Mod for that zine, and we will all work together.

We also plan on launching, at least, one project a year.

Right now, we are seeking for people who might be interested in joining our team: anything from people experienced in the zine scene, graphic designers, finance and shipping mods, and generally speaking, anyone who wants to get work done and join us in this initiative of creating projects that are friendlier for smaller creators.

how many applications have you received? and what kind of applications are you looking for?

we have received a total of 37 applications so far, and we are looking for people with experience in the zine scene as:

- art&writing moderators

-graphics moderators

-formatting moderators

-finance moderators

-shipping moderators

those are the essentials! but if you have any thoughts that you could potentially work hard and have ideas as a general mod or even an intern, you should apply too!

we will look at all the applications and send you an email asking you some questions about your expectations and your experience!

Lesbian Game ‘A Summer’s End - Hong Kong 1986′ Released

Studio Oracle and Bone’s new Yuri visual novel, A Summer’s End - Hong Kong 1986, is now available for PC, Mac, and Linux.

Set in Hong Kong during the 1980s, A Summer’s End follows a young office worker, Michelle, who has a chance encounter with Sam, a free-spirited woman. Their meeting quickly evolves into a deeper romantic relationship. The game is an original story above love, family, and culture.

A Summer’s End is inspired by classic Hong Kong cinema, 80s anime, and city pop music. It features over 400 hand-drawn pieces of art with a vibrant and retro style.

The developers spent time researching period fashion, culture, and LGBT history as they created the game. It addresses issues including homophobia, one’s devotion to family and tradition, and Hong Kong’s delicate political situation with grace and care.

An optional adult patch is available to download for free. This patch adds six adult CGs and sexual content. The game can be enjoyed with or without the patch, and adult scenes can be toggled on or off.

A Summer’s End - Hong Kong 1986 is available for purchase on Steam and itch.io for $14.99 today.

Are the mod apps rolling or will they close at a certain date?

we are waiting to see how many people apply and are interested, but they will close in a month or so. we will keep you updated!

This is art only right? Or do you include writers as well?

we of course include writers!! when saying artists we mean merch artists, illustrators and writers! we think no zine is 100% complete without you all and we will support you as much as any artist 💞 also, we are searching for writing mods!

how many mods do you plan on having on your team? I’m personally wary of large mod teams. However, this is a lovely idea and I’m excited to see it!!! Good luck!

we plan on having around 5-6 mods, but we are keeping up on the app forms to see how people are interested in collaborating
