Wow es ist voll lange seit ich gepostet habe. ugh well Heute bin ich um ungefähr 11 aufgestanden. Ich musste heute mein final essay zum Education fertig schreiben. Das habe ich tatsächlich in der Hängematte gemacht uhh sonst hatten wir M + M zur Besuch und viel angehängt. Ich will noch was schauen heute und LinAl machen. :)

The seventeenth session of the United Nations Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (UNPFII) is taking place in New York from 16 to 27 April 2018. In this context, UNESCO is presenting the 2019 International Year of Indigenous Languages (IY2019) as the United Nations leading organization for its implementation.
On 21 October 2016 the United Nations General Assembly proclaimed 2019 the International Year of Indigenous Languages, beginning on 1 January 2019.
The International Year is an important international cooperation mechanism and a year-long celebration, involving a range of different stakeholders, dedicated to preserve, revitalize, and promote indigenous languages; as languages matter for social, economic and political development, peace building and reconciliation.
Indigenous languages are essential to sustainable development; they constitute the vast majority of the world’s linguistic diversity, and are an expression of cultural identity, diversity and a unique understanding of the world. The disappearance of indigenous languages has a negative impact on areas directly affecting lives of indigenous peoples such as, politics, health, justice, education and access to ICTs among other things. Therefore, UNPFII is the appropriate setting to present the Action Plan for the organization of IY2019 to the indigenous peoples representatives and organizations.
One of the key principles of the Action Plan itself is the centrality of indigenous peoples “nothing for us without us”. During 2019, multiple actions and events are expected to be organized by indigenous peoples and organizations around the world.
Hi everyone! I love languages so much!! Some languages are like we don’t need a word for ‘the’! And other languages are like you are completely right!! We actually need 24 words for ‘the’! Everything is so dumb and I love it!!!
05.11.18 - day 5
Ich hatte Schule um 8 noch mal (kms). Ich hatte Englisch. Unser Thema ist Kanada und wir hatten ein Diskussion um Multikulturalismus. Ich fand es voll ärgerlich weil jeder nur seine eigene Meinung erklärt hat und Sie reden gar nicht mit einander. ughh. In der Pause habe ich Kaffee gekauft und das hilft. Ich hatte Deutsch auch aber ich kann fast nichts verstehen und finde das Thema jedenfalls uninterresant also ich habe bei dieser Unterricht meine mathe Hausaufgaben gemacht. Ich bin nachhause gekommen und habe was gegessen. Ich habe dann gewählt! oder eigentlich nur mein Ballot fertig gemacht. Ich habe Mittagsschlaf gemacht und Abendbrot gegessen.

AGH Ich hatte Geo um 8 (booo). Es war richtig lagweilig. Unser Thema ist Boden also :/ Ich habe meine Bio und Mathe Hausaufgabe gemacht. (Ab den nächsten Tag bin ich richtig krank geworden)

Ich war spät für mein Englisch Klausur weil ich nicht wusste wo wir sie schreiben würden. Sie war nur ok. Ich habe ganz wenig geschrieben aber es ist mir vollig egal. Ich hatte auch Geschichte und ich finde die Lehererin richtig cool. Sie ist die einzige, die ihre Leidenschaft für das Fach zeigt. Sie hat für vielleicht 30 Minuten über Waffen verkaufen, Flüchtlinge, und wählen gesprochen / ge-ranted. Ich fand es sehr interessant. Ich hatte Deutsch danach. Es gefällt mir nicht so gut weil ich so wenig verstehe und finde Gedicht analysieren jedenfalls schwerig und langweiling. Ich bin dann mit C*******e, A****a, und noch zwei Mädchen zur Chor gegangen. Wir haben 30 Minuten gewartet und die Lehrerin hat viel mal gesagt, dass sie schelchte Laune hatte. Komisch. Es war eigentlich ganz schön. Wir singen “Royals” von Lorde. Ich bin dann kurz nach Harburg gafahren aber habe da gar nichts gemacht. Ich habe Abendbrot bei der G********n gegessen und wir sind dann zusammen nachhause gelaufen.

23.10.18 - day 2
Ich bin früh für Bio-Unterricht aufgestanden (8 Uhr). Wir lernen weiter über Nahrungsnetz aber ich war voll müde. Ich habe mit F****i gearbeitet und wir waren verwirrt aber egal. Ich bin dann schnell nachhause gefahren. Das Wetter war furchtbar, kalt und Regen. Ich hatte einen großen Mittagsschlaf und danach bin ich durch das Regnen gefahren und total nass geworden. Mathe war schön. Wir wiederholen linear und exponentielle Funktionen und ich habe ein paar anderen Schülern damit geholfen. Zuhause habe ich einfach rumgehangen. Ich habe aber Mittagessen mit U gegessen und auch ein bisschen Deutsch mit ihm gesprochen. Abend war total unmerkbar.

Ich bin um 09:30 aufgewacht und habe mich beeilen für meine erste Unterricht, die Deutsch war. Wir haben eine Klausur geschrieben darin müssten wir ein Gedicht interpretieren. Es dauerte fast 2,5 Stunde aber Ich habe früher fertig gemacht. Was ich geschrieben habe war richtig Scheiss aber egal. Ich habe dann ein bisschen mit einem Freund rumgehangen und hatte auch Religion, die ziemlich langweilig war. Ich bin nachhause gekommen und habe Nudeln gekocht. Ich hatte eine lange Mittagspause und die kinder sind auch nachhause gekommen. Abend hatte ich Chorprobe :) Wir haben Man in the Mirror und Pompeii gesungen. Ich will früh ins Bett gehen (23:00 bitte) weil ich so müde von dem Konzert gestern Abend bin.

Local Staff Share Their Best Strategies For Learning German
Though we often highlight the diplomats who work at the German Embassy, the unsung heroes of the Embassy world are its local staff members. All Embassies, regardless of nationality, tend to hire locals who speak the language of both countries. These staff aren’t translators, although that comes hand in hand with the job, but rather work in all departments from politics to press. They’re diplomats of sorts–providing insight, in our case, into the American perspective and cultural norms.
Many of these local staff members are German born and have either naturalized or married Americans. Some, however, are Americans who learned German the good ol’ fashioned way—from scratch. They now work day to day in German, but their German wasn’t always that good! Since they can best be able to speak to the language learning curve, we asked them for language tips for learning German. Here’s what they said!
Great tips, right? The common threads are consistency and familiarity. If you already like to cook, try getting a German cookbook. If you like to sing, listen to and learn the lyrics of German songs. You know yourself best so think of what you like or are good at and see how you can incorporate the German language into it.

Feeling like you haven’t made progress, then looking back on your previous work and realising you’ve actually come a long way
When you start to use prepositions, interjections and grammatical elements that don’t exist in your native language correctly without thinking because they just feel right
Being able to get your point across most of the time, even if it’s in a slightly awkward roundabout way sometimes
Natives telling you you’re good at the language
Being able to watch TV shows, read books and listen to the radio and actually understand enough to get the gist, even if you don’t understand everything
Developing an understanding of the culture through the language and feeling yourself grow as a person as a result
Listening to songs in your TL that you haven’t heard for a while and realising you can actually understand a lot of the lyrics now
Starting to understand puns, double-meanings and innuendos you missed previously and going :O :O :O
Discovering a wealth of idioms, many of which are funny, insightful or just plain cute
When you stop translating words in your head and start just understanding
When people mention that you speak your target language, and instead of saying “I really don’t” you can say “well yes, kind of”

Have you ever thought it was hard to find foreign language podcasts?
This may be just a me-thing but I have never been able to find good podcasts at an appropriate level on the podcast app, no matter how hard I tried. BUT ACTUALLY I have been able to find a lot of pretty good ones on Spotify. About things I am interested in and by people with nice and clear voices. I know it is a very specific problem but if you’ve had it too check Spotify. ;)
