"Probably the only good way to go, or a handsome man" he added with a shrug. Probably would be got him one day, but he didn't want to think too much about that. "Mmm, not sure that's a defence" still, whatever made people happy. He wasn't sure why that would admittedly. "Oh hardly, just don't fancy death just yet".
"Either or, I'm down. Something pretty to look at while you kick the bucket sounds real tempting." Dean whistled to emphasise his words, a small chuckle leaving him after. "I mean, I sorta just nod and agree with whatever she says, she's the kind of pretty that gets you distracted." He shrugged his shoulders lightly. "Me neither, I still got a few more things on my bucket list to tick off."
"makeout session?" emma scoffed at the phrase. she slid into the seat next to him, knowing it may cause him to get up, but she would just follow him. "i must have left such an impression you blacked out. because if i remember correctly, and i do, we did a lot more than make out," she said, smirking wickedly. "listen, you don't have to stand someone to have a good time. and i just know you enjoyed letting the beast out for once. not having to hold back. c'mon. you have to admit it was fun." @envicd
"Whatever." Alcide muttered out, trying to ignore how flustered he felt. He shifted awkwardly in his seat, not moving out of pure spite. He couldn't let her win everytime. His fingers drummed against the countertop, jaw clenched as he let out a heft huff. "I ain't admitting shit." He nearly almost growled, itching to crawl out his skin and run off. Being around her almost made him want V again. "...Maybe I did."
That was hardly the reaction she had been expecting, people of this world were truly strange. "That would be stealing" and at least that was one vice no one had ever accused her of. Unless it had been to help her love. "Surely if I had wanted it, I wouldn't have returned it" and there was that damned curiosity. She had to be better then that.
"Stealing is nothing." Evette scoffed slightly, perhaps slightly embarrassed by her shoplifting tendencies. "I don't know, maybe you can't handle guilt so your wants get swept aside." She shrugged her shoulders in retort. "Guilt will get you nowhere."
"Is he?" she might think that, but then she also knew that people tended to view the people they were close to differently than others. "This island isn't complicated" no, dealing with Hades' daddy issues had been complicated, this was just irritating. "What worries me, is him being led on".
"Of course he is." Safiye stated adamantly, albeit quietly. "W-Well it has been complicated for me." Her attempts to defend herself were rather meek. "What?" She could almost feel her skin grow pale. "Led on? No, I-I would never. That wasnt--It's not like that."
"I'll update you when I figure stuff out...who knows, maybe I have a mystery wife." He laughed a little, quietly confident that wasn't the case at all but he was doing his best to lighten the mood.
Spider looked at her for a long moment, weighing his words. "Your happiness is important Safiye. No matter where you are." He nodded a little before managing to give her a smile back. "Just wanted to make sure. You'll always be important to me too. But! Anyways. I am happy for you, remembering and all."
Safiye laughed softly, although his comment stung a little. It wasn't how she wanted things to turn out. Safiye even thought, for a moment, that she could of had a future with him. Before her memories came back. It felt so much simpler back then.
"I know, I just wish it were that easy." She smiled softly with a small shrug. She always put others above herself, in every timeline. "I'm glad I get to be important to you, even after everything." It meant a lot to her. Safiye just hoped that it wouldn't be something that upset Rhys. "Is it... is it wrong that sometimes I wish I didn't remember? It makes me feel like a terrible person."
"he's out. and he'd have your head for even insinuating i bother him," emma tutted. she couldn't help but smirk at his next comment, circling around him and lazily letting her finger trace from one shoulder to the other before sitting down on the stool next to him. "i may have been told that once or twice. but to keep on my good side, people usually give better compliments. stunning, beautiful, exquisite. more along those lines." @envicd
"Why don't you go out with him then?" Os grumbled under his breath, ignoring her other statement. He immediately shivered when she touched him, and not in a good way. More like a ghoul just touched him. Like he just ate something disgusting. "I know you're attractive," Oswald rolled his eyes, scooting his stool slightly away from her. "I'm not blind. Just..." He pulled a face, averting his gaze from her. "...Not my type."
“then you really do like me.” oberyn chuckled. his older brother had called him a man of “questionable character” more than once, oberyn had accepted it very easily. “i like that you like that. are you yourself such a person? one of ‘questionable character’?”
"Perhaps. I'm still deciding." Cat deflects with a small, amused chuckle. She still refused to admit it outright, but she was certainly having fun. "Of course I am." She mused playfully. "Although, I suppose some would argue that questionable would be a nicer way of putting it when it comes to describing me."
violet went very still at that. she hated remembering it. knew he did too. but that was nothing compared to what she did to him. one of her hands moved to his jaw, guiding his face back toward her whether he wanted to look or not. her touch wasn't forceful, just firm enough that he couldn't disappear from the moment. "you think i forgot that?" she said quietly. "you think i just… erased it because things are good now?" she shook her head slowly. "i didn't forget. it hurt like hell." her voice was shaky, but honest. "when you left, it felt like the ground dropped out from under me. i thought i imagined everything between us. i thought maybe i just… meant less to you than you did to me." her thumb brushed lightly along the edge of his cheek. "but you came back. you came back and you fought for me. you owned what you did. you didn't pretend it never happened, you didn't run again. you stayed." her eyes softened as she looked at him, really looked at him. at the shame he still carried like a weight. "that's not something a heartless person does." vi needed him to know that she didn't hold that against him. that she loved him in spite of that. "but... but i think you should have stayed away. os, i killed you. you've been suffering all this weekend because of something i did. how can you even look at me? never mind loving me." maybe she needed to be more firm. maybe she just needed to rip this apart so he could have better. "that plus how messed up i am... you deserve someone better. and i don't deserve you." violet just couldn't understand how he could be with her. she was so emotionally demanding, it must have been draining for him. if he didn't resent her now, he would grow to, she was certain of it. because despite how safe oswald made her feel, the nightmares never stopped. no matter what she tried to do. and this weekend just proved it. violet was better off alone. it was fairer this way. @tclerateiit
"Christ, Violet, do you ever stop?" Os let pur a frustrated huff, his voice beginning to strain. "You're always rattling on about how horrible you are, how I shouldn't love you, and it's pissing me off." He didn't know how to go about this gently, how to be soft and patient. He couldn't stand anyone talking shit about Violet, not even when it was coming from her own mouth. "I don't care that you killed me. I would do it all over again, you did it to survive." His hands shook slightly as he spoke. He wouldn't admit that it horrified him to die the way he did, because his words were true. Os stopped caring about himself in that situation when he learned it was Violet all along. It started to hurt less, and gave him and odd sense of peace. "So quit fucking telling me how I should leave, or hate you, or how you're too much." His voice raised slightly, agitated by her words. "You do not get to talk about someone I love like that. You just don't." His hands shook, not knowing what to do with themselves as he tried to desperately express himself. "I'm selfish, Violet. I do not love easily." Os swallowed at his admission, knowing it didn't paint him in a good light. "If any part of you bothered me, I would call it quits. I have abandoned people for far less." Typically he didn't care to admit such a fact, but he almost couldn't stand the idea of Violet becoming disgusted by him. It was, however, the only way he knew how to get through to her. "Does that not tell you that I fucking want to be here? Can you not trust my own damn judgement and just...let me love you?"
"Dudettes is worse, probably correct but it doesn't sound nice. Neither does the word dude" no he'd stick to his own slang, even if several centuries out of date. "I know many, but not for long" usually only for the night, it worked for him. "Then they likely just want you dead, and if you know their objective, what's left to fear?"
"Oh c'mon, dude is like universal." Dean retorted with a small scoff. "Not for long, eh?" He raised a brow curiously, a grin tugging at his lips. "Look at you, tiger. Got a real romeo out here." He couldn't refrain from teasing. "You telling me you're not gonna be scared shitless staring in the face of some ungodly monstrosity?"
closed starter || vander and alcide
“hey, asshole!” vander called out before pulling sandwiches out of his pockets. he had seen alcide working on his walk and decided his day needed brightening. obviously the solution was lunch with his favorite brother. “are you on lunch break yet? i got the special from the shop around the corner. or are you too busy for your favorite brother?”
@envicd
Alcide glances over his shoulder, immediately recognising the voice before he caught a glimpse of him. Seeing his brother definitely upped his mood. "I take my lunch break whenever I damn want." He laughed, pulling off his gloves and tossing them to the ground. "I ain't ever too busy for ya, especially when ya got food."
sam had been bracing for nothing. for the continued blank stare. for polite confusion. for dean walking away like he meant nothing at all. but he had stopped and turned to him. at first there was that blankness. but then sam caught the flinch, instantly worrying about his brother. and then his name came out of dean's lips. "you know that because... because we're brothers, dean." there was clearly some recognition in him. it hadn't just been sam that was said. it was sammy. "you're my older brother. the one that's always been there for me." sam couldn't help but get choked up a bit. but at least dean was here. he was safe. sam's gaze flickered over dean's face, searching for recognition, for anything that stuck. there was fear in his chest, yeah, but beneath it, something stronger. because dean had said his name. and that meant he was still in there. "you're not crazy," sam continued, voice firmer now. "something's messing with your memories. this place, it's not what you think it is. and it's really me, dean. i don't know how i'm back, but i am." he would do every test just to prove it to him. @envicd
"Brother?" While it was phrased as a question, his tone lacked the infliction. It was if deep down, somewhere, he knew it to be true. He had to brush those feelings aside, because they didn't add up to his reality. "I have a sister, for the record." He shook his head, brows knitting in confusion. This was all just making his growing headache that much worse. "Oh, I know I'm not crazy." He scoffed but his words lacked the confidence to back it up. It was just his ego growing insecure. He detested that his mind was a sea of hazy, half realised memories. "Back from where, huh? I don't even--" His shoulders lifted in frustration, hands falling against his sides with a sharp thud. "So if you're really my brother, tell me something no one else would know." He rolled his eyes. "Ain't no way I'm getting conned by some punk."
cassie took the glass with a grateful smile, taking a big sip to begin with. "i've noticed," she admitted, having already been texting him late at night. "it's nice to have someone on my schedule for once." she'd always been a night owl, preferring the dark and stars to the day. his comforting words sent a pleasant jolt down her. like she'd heard them before. and the thought of not being alone was comforting. even more so since it would be with him. "uhh. it's just these wierd shadowing things everyone's been seeing," she admitted, feeling safe to do so. but she took another sip of her drink. "what i keep seeing i don't... i don't understand them. don't know the people in them." and not only did she seek west out for comfort, but maybe he knew these people. since he knew her. @envicd
"Oh? You notice me?" It was instinctive to tease her, to fall back into old routines. West cleared his throat, suddenly embarrassed. "Yeah, I like having someone on mine too." He hummed quietly as he took a sip of his drink. They were both always awake at all hours of the night, it felt comforting to have her with him like this. "Yeah, shit is creepy as hell." He laughed slightly in an attempt to seem unbothered. "You might know them." He added with a small shrug. He sure as hell knew who his were, at least. "You could try describing them to me, maybe?"
"That depends on how many guys you know... and doesn't tend to include women... guyets?" no that didn't sound right, usually he was better at modern slang then that. "I have, used to dive. But the things down there only want to kill you, humans are far more terrifying".
"Pretty sure it's dudettes. I'd bet money on it." He states a little soo smugly. "And I know a lot of people. Pretty popular guy, y'know." Perhaps not the entire truth, but that wasn't important. "I mean, I can think of things that or more terrifying. They usually have way too many teeth."
This place... there were so many things that Laideronnette wanted to know, but she knew that she mustn't. Curiosity never did anyone any good, and it was simply better to accept things as they were, and to keep her head down. Unfortunately that hadn't really helped her find anyone from home, but wasn't it better to simply accept things as they were?
That also was not overly easy when she saw someone ahead drop something. Trying to avoid looking she bent to pick it up. "Excuse me, I believe you dropped this" she said once she had finally caught up with them.
@ivycovestarters
Evette had a lot on her mind, not exactly paying attention and simply moving along. She had just bought herself a coffee, probably one too many for the day already, far too preoccupied with her own thoughts to notice she had fumbled putting away her cash into her bag, dropping a few dollars as she left.
She was silent when someone tried to grab her attention, her face remaining emotionless. She reached forward to take the cash, looking down at it like it was garbage. "You could have kept it." She states, as if it should be obvious. "Do you want it?"
“maybe. but it’s not quite hope. hope suggest there’s a possibility it may not be. but we both know what this is.” the dornish prince smirked. “you think me something of a charlatan. it’s ok, most do. but you’re still talking to me, so something about that must be at least alluring to you.”
"You speak with such certainty." Cat retorts with a playful chuckle, still carefully dodging admitting or acknowledging anything. It was the game she liked to play. "You say charlatan like it's a bad thing." Her grin never quite fading, enjoying their conversation. "I do find people of questionable character to be rather...enticing."
cordelia's teasing fell away completely at his whisper. she didn't push, didn't pry. instead, she shifted closer, slow and careful, until their foreheads brushed and her hands slid up to cradle his face, thumbs warm against his cheeks. "hey," she murmured, grounding, steady. "okay. then we won't." her voice softened even more, like she was afraid a louder word might crack him open. "you don't have to remember tonight. or tomorrow. or ever, if that's what you need." she pressed a gentle kiss to the corner of his mouth, lingering there. "i'm not here to drag things out of you. i'm here to… keep you here. with me." she rested her forehead against his, breathing him in, anchoring them both. "whatever those nightmares are, whatever you've seen, they don't get to take this from you." her hand slid into his hair, fingers combing through slowly. "you're safe right now. you're in my bed. i've got you." @envicd
Dean felt something settle in his chest, something he couldn't quite describe. Feelings like this were uncommon for him, especially ones that were developing so deeply and quickly. He never quite met someone so understanding like Cordelia. Someone so certain and determined, yet incredibly soft. He couldn't answer her, words caught up in his throat. All he could muster up was a small noise of agreement, his arms tightening around her waist. He just breathed in harshly, as if all the fear he was holding in was finally released as he exhaled. His arms shook ever so slightly, pulling her in closer until their bodies were fully flushed up against eachother. "We can talk...in the morning." He mumbled out quietly, hesitation lingering in his voice. "Right now I just--" He paused, wondering if his ego could withstand his next words. "I just want you...I just want to hold you so I can forget for a moment. Because you're the only thing keeping me sane right now." And for the first time, he felt safe.
