Writing their Kalmar story made me really sad so I needed an age regression moment
Podfic is the ultimate portmanteau btw
Joy Sullivan, from “Move to Oregon in July”, Instructions for Traveling West
explained to an 8 year old that once a fruit is ripe you only have so much time until it rots so you have to eat it soon and she said so i'll never be able to keep it perfect like this forever? no and there are about a million pieces of art for you unrelatedly
Drew Light Yagami for a friend!
📜 ✶ some redrawable moments from season 1 !! wanted to capture one of merthur's first big encounters as well as experiment with the way i could draw them^^
The problem with studying the deep ocean is that humans need light to look at things, the depths of the ocean are extremely dark, and what lives there is accustomed to spending most of its time in that darkness. So when we go down there with submersibles and turn on Big Lights to see, we invariably and dramatically alter what's going on, in the same way that it's generally difficult to observe the natural behaviors of terrestrial animals if you whip out a megaphone and shout HEY GUYS WHAT ARE YOU DOING at them first.
A humble snubnose eelpout on its way to the whale fall buffet when some nearby humans give it a quick, unintrusive study:
I put this in the comments but feel it needs a reblog- Check out some of Dr Edith Widder’s work on light in the deep sea! Among other things, she used the bioluminescence of stoplight fish to deduce wavelengths which most deep sea animals can’t perceive and used that to create light filters to be able to film with minimal disturbance! And that’s how we got 25 minutes of giant squid footage!!!!
Light vs L
bbc merlin has a lot of faults but i do think the way they blithely ignored the existence of christianity was very funny of them
"#'old religion' they said. and then simply said nothing of a new religion" yeah Uther Pendragon, noted athiest. Entirely agnostic court. It's crazy that there's no belief system backing anything up. Like, we're going to get by on vague prophecies but also prophecies are magic which is evil. Divine right of kings but no divinity. Mirrors and mirrors but no windows.

I finally watched death note all the way through after refusing to finish it after episode 25.. I’m still salty 6 years later

Just some quick merthur sketches. What if Arthur had known sooner...
starting to think some of us are too good at “do it alone”. maybe we should try “do it with someone we’re not already 100% sure we’d be really great friends with just to build a potential towards that friendship”
have you reopened the wound? will you reopen the wound? when will you reopen the wound?
my excessive use of commas and my love of run on sentences is alluring and attractive to my readers
