It's a bit of a mess and there isn't much organization so I'm making this greeting to help you out a little! There's quite a bit of fandom stuff and my hyperfixations change regularly so don't be surprised if I suddenly change what I'm posting about. It's also not uncommon for me to have several posts about one fandom then randomly post about a different fandom before immediately getting back on track with the other.

Some fandoms I may post about include Tolkien, Baldur's Gate 3, Legend of Zelda, and many others which I don't feel like typing out at the moment.

Denying that men can get pregnant is something which has been and will continue to be used against trans men who need care for that pregnancy, or, crucially, abortion care, to deny that they could require that care in the first place. The same men who do not want to be pregnant are harmed by the denial that men can even be pregnant in the first place.

Your dysphoria and the terror you feel thinking about a trans man being pregnant because that would be a nightmare for you feels really bad, and I get that. Denying the reality that trans men do, indeed, get pregnant is not the way to solve that. It only makes things worse for trans men as a whole, including people like yourself if ever you did manage to have pregnancy forced onto you. You aren’t helping anyone vulnerable, even though it may feel like it because you’re trying to rid yourself of dysphoria and fear.

I’m not stupid. I understood that just fine. Hell, my kids would have understood that just fine. But no one bothered to tell us.

i did know this before having kids (i have six). we have a kid that's needed multiple procedures requiring anesthesia. and every single time, i am asked multiple times if i'm sure he was not given any food or water after a certain point.

every single time i have had to say, "i understand that if he had food or water, he could aspirate it into his lungs under anesthesia. i am not lying to you." THEN someone would make a little note and i would stop being repeatedly asked.

not a single time was that risk explained to me. the only reason it came up was because i already knew. i still don't understand why it isn't standard pre-op counseling or pre-op check information, when me as a parent acknowledging the actual risk also put THE MEDICAL STAFF at ease because i conveyed that i had informed understanding as reason to not lie about giving my kid food.

"maybe some people will get nervous and refuse surgery" okay so they need more counseling about risks and anxiety, not less information in a way that actually does endanger their child or themselves!

Really tired of ignorant ass people talking about how “only transfems are seen as predatory and transmascs are seen as little girls who just need help” bc even ignoring everything else wrong with that idea, I literally can’t even smile, wave, and say “hi” back to little kids that say hi to me in public without their parents acting visibly upset by it. Because they see me, a visibly trans(masc), very gender ambiguous looking person, and assume ill intent automatically.

I don’t think that ever happened to me pre transition, and I’m not saying it happens *every* time, but since I started transitioning it’s happened enough times that at this point, if a kid says hi to me in the grocery store I usually just pretend I didn’t hear them, and as someone who believes in treating kids like the people they are, it breaks my heart that I feel the need to do that
