The initial spell knocks her back, and fazes her momentarily; the sheer holy, magical aura of the spell Emeralda cast exuded a pressure that made the beast shudder, but an animal out for blood could not be dissuaded or be made to reconsider so easily.
The second wave of magical energy was even more intense than the first one, so much so that the beast had to dig her claws into the ground to keep herself from blowing away. The intensity of the magical aura charged numerous chemicals that been spilled, and mixed together during their skirmish. the spilled concoctions began to boil as the half-demon began to release her own stored up energy.
Something inside her knew the same thing Emeralda did. The next few seconds were going to decide the outcome of the battle.
And so, as her whole form was set ablaze, and bathed in demonic flames, Iris charged towards Emeralda. The flames that she generated ignited a pool of chemicals just between the two, as sparks of flames leapt from her body.
As Iris threw herself into the air, towards the emerald haired magician, she let loose one last banshee cry, and just like that… there was silence.
The blade easily sliced through the demon’s tail, which had been aimed to pierce her chest, and made a fairly large cut in the half-demon’s abdomen. The tail lands in the puddle of chemicals, flailing around, as the ignited chemicals began to bubble more, and a magically charged, chemical reaction began.
But Iris stood.
She was barely conscious, panting, and in pain. She stood over Emeralda, blood dripping down her form, onto the magician. Her right arm clutching her wound, as she let out shallow breath after shallow breath.
There’s something in her eyes… Something…tired. Perhaps the potion was wearing off, from all the effort Iris had been exerting… Regardless, Iris raised a hand, and was about to bring her claws down on Emeralda, in one last, feeble attack, when the that had been falling towards them light hits.
A sick crack sounds, as the light connects with Iris’ head, breaking both of her horns off. A second passes before she weakly falls to her knees, collapsing forward, onto Emeralda.
It was over.
She had lost.
Iris had been beaten again. Emeralda had claimed victory over her old friend once more.
And that was it. Both of them were drained, exhausted. They’d given their all, and neither even had the strength to stand anymore. Collapsing onto the warehouse floor, the magician couldn’t really form thoughts. Her awareness was dimming, fading as she felt the tired, aching feeling of fatigue setting into her body. She was so, so tired- All she wanted was some tranquility, some peace.
Hopefully, she’d find it in sleep.
As her consciousness slipped, there was another one breaking through- Forming, coming into existence at that very moment. The creation of something new. As the fight had drawn to a close, the pair’s skills and powers had come together as a piece of Iris’ demonic form was sliced off by the magical blade Emeralda had summoned. Doused in her own elixirs and charged by the Mage’s power, the slice of the Half-demon’s tail began to take it’s own form.
The new life’s form quickly began taking shape, modeling itself after the two who’d created it. A tiny, frail and small person-shaped entity. It’s growth far exceed the rate of a normal human’s, however, fueled by the magic power and potent chemicals it’d been steeped in. It’s body grew and changed, shaping out and tapering down into a form more fitting that of a slightly older child, with none of the baby fat or pudginess that a newborn or toddler would possess.
As the reaction stopped, the little thing lie curled up on the floor - Vulnerable and unaware to chaos surrounding it. The sound of it’s breathing was louder, less steady than the magician and the demon’s, and the sound soon came to awaken Emeralda.
Slowly, agonizingly managing to get onto her feet, Eme paused to take in her surroundings. Grabbing onto a nearby pole, the mage steadied herself and looked around, doing a double take as she realized there was something else here. Walking towards it cautiously, Eme’s breath was bated as she approached. It could be something Iris had made in case of her defeat- But in that case, it didn’t seem to be doing very well. Stopping a few feet away, the Ente Islan looked concernedly up and down at the Iris lookalike. As she did, the little thing moved, looking directly up at her.
Well...Whatev...No, whoever this was, Eme could tell- She wasn’t any threat here. Thinking for just a minute, the mage sighed before nodding to herself, knowing what she needed to do. This girl was a mere child- So, for now, it was Emeralda’s responsibility to care for her.
