âCome on buddy. I can help you. I donât understand why youâre not letting me-â I roll onto my side, facing away from him. Kael grumbles and lifts me into his large, gentle arms. âI donât understand you. You know that? Youâre sick and I can literally help you. I donât understand why you wonât.â I look away, refusing to meet his gaze.
âCause itâs gross and slimy.â I cringe and my own words. I can hear how childish I sound.
Kael frowns at me. âIt will get rid of your cold, I promise. Plus itâs warm and cozy in my bellyâŠâ I roll my eyes.
âI donât care how warm and cozy it is. Itâs still gross.â
He pauses for a moment. He knows Iâm not giving in anytime soon. He might have to persuade me into listening. His eyes start to glow a soft green. Heâs trying to hypnotize me. I immediately look away. Iâm not falling for it. Kaels eyes return back to normal as he gives up.
âI just donât understand why youâre being so difficult!â He says. At this point he doesnât care anymore. He just wants to help me feel better. He opens his mouth and shoves me inside without warning.
No matter how much I struggle, my efforts are fruitless as he casually gulps me down. I slide into his belly. Itâs half full of a warm, glowing orange liquid that illuminates the slimy chamber. The first thing I notice is the warmth. Itâs unbelievably warm, not uncomfortably so, but perfect. The stomach walls are slimy and cushiony, cradling me comfortably as I snuggle up.
The next thing I notice is that my stuffy nose is gone. My head feels like itâs cleared up. My sore throat is the next thing to disappear and then my headache. I feel good for the first time all week. I donât even notice as body grows heavier and my eyes slowly drift shutâŠ
