I tell you I love you ten times a day because it is the simplest, shortest way to say this: When you are with me I feel at ease, as if all the tension has slipped right out of my body and morphed into the quiet tenderness that I feel in the air surrounding us. I look at you and you catch me but I don’t even look away because I don’t ever want to study another person’s face so closely ever again. Your life is important to me. You are important to me. Everything between us seems completely illogical and yet I still cannot help but love you - tenderly, violently, loudly, and irrationally. I touch you often, little connections of body to body, but not out of lust. I touch you because even when I am inches away from you, breathing in the air that you are breathing out, I still want to be closer. I want to reassure you that I am here, that I am always here, that I know you don’t need me but you are allowed to lean on me. And you do, so often. Your passion inspires me, and your simple kindness devours me. Your sleepy drooling, your toothy smile, your random singing, the fact that you never question it when I kiss you goodbye on the cheek every time. All things that make me smile. I tell you I love you ten times a day because I do, dammit. I love you. I love you at seven am and I love you at two pm and I love you at midnight. I love you intricately, irrationally, irrevocably. I love you endlessly.
