Erbacea LAB is an artistic project of Ceramics and Cyanotype with a Botanical Theme.

Our small artisan workshop is located in Italy, in Santarcangelo di Romagna.

We use real plants on soft clay, and then hand paint in cobalt blue the impression left by the flower or leaf, which is always different and unique.

We produce everyday objects such as cups, plates, vases, etc., perfect for decorating your home, or to be purchased as gift items.

Our obstinate passions are botany, the blue color, unique and unrepeatable things made with our hands!

Imprinting rosemary on clay

This is the process of imprinting a real leaf of rosemary on soft clay, to produce our botanical ceramics.

In each piece you can see the imprint of a plant from our garden or found on our walks.

Each ceramic is handmade, which means no two will ever be identical, adding to its uniqueness and exclusivity.

Botanical Ceramics: pressing flowers and leaves on Clay

Together with this photo we would like you to also be able to smell the scent that aromatic herbs release when we crush them under our fingers.

Sage, thyme, rosemary envelop us in a synesthesia of sensations, the leaves soft to the touch, pungent to the smell, perfect to look at.

The moment of imprinting the leaves and flowers on the soft clay is definitely our favorite of the whole long process that goes from the shapeless piece of clay to the finished product.

Every time it is magic to lift the plant and see that it has left its imprint behind it, its indelible mark.
