The sweetest sound in the world is the sound of the battery dying on my childâs toy.
What about once the kid starts crying about it?
âif you have a bit of stress then you can use this, but if you have a lot of stress use this oneâ
oh god I just lost it laughing

Fires in large, open spaces like aircraft hangers can be difficult to fight with conventional methods, so many industrial spaces use foam-based fire suppression systems. These animations show such a system being tested at NASA Armstrong Research Center. When jet fuel ignites, foam and water are pumped in from above, quickly generating a spreading foam that floats on the liquid fuel and separates it from the flames. Since the foam-covered liquid fuel cannot evaporate to generate flammable vapors, this puts out the fire.Â
The shape of the falling foam is pretty fascinating, too. Notice the increasing waviness along the foam jet as it falls. Like water from your faucet, the foam jet is starting to break up as disturbances in its shape grow larger and larger. For the most part, though, the flow rate is high enough that the jet reaches the floor before it completely breaks up. (Image credit: NASA Armstrong, source)

my friend is studying for the mcat and was just trying to explain to me about heat transfer and she said âyou know, like the reason you get cold when you go outside on a freezing day is that your tiny human body is trying to warm up the entire universeâ and i think thatâs the best thing i have ever heard
I kind of needed this today. Thank you.

My story telling skills in 3 panels
FUCK ANYONE WHO CONSCIOUSLY DOES THIS
IF YOUâRE HAVING A CONVERSATION WITH SOMEONE AND THEIR EYES ARE LIGHTING UP WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT WHAT THEYâRE TALKING ABOUT
YOU LISTEN YOUR ASS OFF, DONâT DEFEAT THE LIGHT, KEEP IT GOING OR FUCK YOU
For the people with no attention spans that might be anxious about doing this: be honest about it- if your attention span is dwindling, speak up and just tell them âgimme a sec, attention spanâ then take a breather until you can focus again.
I do this a lot. I donât feel good about it but I also want my friends to understand that I need to scroll my phone every few minutes so I can refocus and give them as much of my attention as possible.
Omg thank you. My ADHD ass was spiraling down the #guiltslide until I scrolled through the notes.
Iâd illustrate it if I could but the ADHD thing usually goes something like this -Â
person on right: ââŠand then we walk by this flock of geese that all start hissing at us -â
person on left (thinking, over course of 10 seconds):Â [geese -> goose with prosthetic beak (a show recently watched) -> animal prosthetics -> elephant with prosthetic leg, tail -> class I took on elephants -> boy in that class with me -> boy went into animation for his major -> a friend of mine is an animator -> project that friend of mine is working on -> helping friend with project by bringing snacks -> got snacks from work -> exciting story about work]
person on left: âholy shit so this thing happened at work the other dayâ
person on left (thinking):Â [fuck i did the thing again why the fuck do i do this]
yes!!!! thank you!!
ADHDers tend to be the left-hand person (more often than not) - not only can we genuinely not help it, but weâll beat ourselves up over it just as much as the other person, when we know how it impacts them. We know it can be taken as rude or hurtful; but we donât do it on purpose, in fact, we sometimes donât  notice weâre doing it.
donât hate us for being like this.
and please, please donât think that our doing this is any fault of yours. we genuinely love and care about you, but our brains have the tendency to go off the rails & out of control. if it bothers you enough, politely let us know! weâll try our best. this habit is not entirely within our control. please donât hold it against us, or take it hard. weâre trying.
Weâre definitely gonna have to try that for the ADHD side - but that trick works for the other side, too. One of the most useful skills Iâve learned as an autie is, when Iâm starting to fumble or have issues, saying âSorry. Words. One moment.â and shutting up long enough to script the next part of what Iâm saying.
i keep doing this to my boyfriend and i feel bad about it
In our group chats we often cycle back to the original story if we can. A lot of people in our chats have various issues be it ADHD, anxiety, autism, etc that can change the way we hold a conversation so we try to get back around to a story or topic if someone wanted to say it. We also encourage interruption if someone is talking for way long because some of us, once we get going, canât stop and require interruption.
