EREN: If someone was coming back with me it'd be the same person who has had a knack of breaking into the flat recently. So it wouldn't be anyone new.

“Yup,” she nodded. “Why would I break in here? I’ve got way more food in my place and it also doesn’t smell like boy,” the brunette commented. “I feel great about all of those things, especially cookie dough. Gimme,” Thea said, making grabby hands at the bags.

Eren continued to glare at the other, “Well I know I didn’t leave it unlocked, so either you’re spinning some bullshit or the door magically unlocked itself.” He commented, rolling his eyes at the other before handing over the cookie dough. “Here you heathen. Would you like a spoon or are you going to scoop it out the tub with your hands like the wild animal that you are?”

“Because then it’s harder when I disappoint her,” Aysun commented. Aysun sighed. “Nevermind, you’d think it’s stupid anyway.” Aysun ran her hands through her hair, taking a seat on one of the patio chairs. Her eyes wandering to look at the stars above them. “I just, I need a second to not feel like I’m going to ruin my life again, or prepare myself for her to eventually bring it up.” Maybe it was true, maybe it was Aysun zoning in on the biggest regret behind leaving to America she had. She knew how much she disappointing their mother that day, and there was still a part of Aysun that thought that her mother was still upset she had been expelled all those years ago.

“But even if you pretend like you don’t know, it’s not like you’re doing yourself any favors. It’s not like deep down you don’t know it’s true.” Eren explained to the other, because he didn’t understand why his sister would put herself through her own torment of tricking herself then just coming to terms with her reality. “It’s not stupid, it’s just hard to understand.” He shrugged. “You know you do a very good job of making her out to be a villain.” Eren frowned, knowing his mother was anything but. She was hardworking and maybe got a little distracted by her work that she forgot dinners and sports games when they were younger, but she cared and loved deeply for them.

“I’m not grumpy.” He began to frown, “I think this might just be my natural resting face, that or you caught me when I was reading something on my phone to do with work. Then I probably did look a little pissed off.” He commented, knowing that he got a little too caught up in some of his cases and felt a lot of emotions when dealing with them. “You say that like the sun is going to disappear and then never come back, you do know it rises and sets everyday, right?” He couldn’t help but tease.

“Your door was unlocked– I may be a little disturbed in the head but I’m not that weird,” she told him from where she was sat on the couch, her feet up on the coffee table, reading a book waiting for the other to come home as if she lived there when in actual fact she’d been there maybe two times. “Get me anything nice from the grocery store?” Thea asked.

Eren narrowed his eyes at the other, “It was unlocked?” He asked, looking to his keys in his hand as though they would tell him the reasoning as to why he didn’t lock the door on the way out this morning. “I wouldn’t put it past you breaking and entering, not going to lie.” He told the other, “I don’t know, that depends on how you feel about enchiladas? Or beer. Or cookie dough.”

Sam: I mean, I'm from Mexico, but my Mom is American, and there's still people who get my last name screwed up in America and it's just about the most basic Spanish name you can have, so I kind of get it.

Sam: It's Sam Delgado by the way, my name, I don't believe I said that.

Eren: So you speak Spanish? Just know if you try to curse me out in it, I'll understand given my step-father is latino and taught me the language.

Eren: You didn't. But nice to virtually meet you Sam Delgado.

“Yeah, I know, but honestly, knowing that makes it so much worse for me,” she said. Aysun thought about telling him about how much pressure she felt from it, that the pressure led her to a breaking point. Aysun knew she was to blame for her mistakes, that she was the one that cheated, but the background to that was the pressure and the need for control that came from feeling all of it. She thought about it, but no words came out to tell him. She figured that he would just think she’s blaming their mother. “Oh, uh, sorry for interrupting then,” she replied. “I wasn’t interrupting, was I?” 

“It makes it worse knowing that your own mother cares, loves and supports you? Not sure I understand where you’re coming from there.” Eren commented, frowning ever so slightly at his sister. Eren shook his head at his sisters words, “You weren’t interrupting, I finished up and decided to stay out here for a little longer. Get some fresh air and send off a few texts before I put my phone away and returned.”

Eren stood in the doorway of his kitchen staring at the other, “Did you make yourself a key or did you just simply break in?” He couldn’t help but ask, setting his groceries down on the counter and crossing his arms over his chest. “I’m not sure which answer would disturb me more.”

Aysun knew that this was her home, but it didn’t feel like home, it didn’t even when she did live there. “I just needed a minute,” she replied, running a hand through her hair. “Mom was going on about the Daily Prophet and my job, and I really just need a second. What are you doing out here?”

“You know she only goes on about it like that because she cares, right? All she’s ever done is care about us, maybe a little too much but I have a feeling that’s because of other things that were factoring into her life.” Eren told his sister, being a big advocate for him Mom because he knew she was just doing her best for them, even if sometimes she made mistakes. “A client called me so I came out here to take the call so it could remain private.”

Eren: It's alright, a lot of people miss it out or are surprised when I tell them I'm Turkish American. I won't hold it against you.

EREN: I'm hoping the damage will be less substantial compared to Pride.

EREN: You've got to trust that she knew what she was doing, it's her job after all. Unfortunately he's probably going to be in that situation quite a lot if these attacks keep happening.

He and his best friend gave everything to their jobs–… so if they’re anything like that, then I trust they know what they’re doing.” Thea hoped that she’d be with Caleb in a situation like this, knowing she’d never feel more safe than with him. “Yes, you probably are a little more than a stranger.” That and she’d seen inside his mind way more than he’d realised to know that he wasn’t a creep, to know that his intentions were good. “You don’t want me to leave so you won’t be alone here,” she pointed out to him. “But I’m not going anywhere. I’m staying here with you,” she reaffirmed out loud, more to herself than to him as she sunk into his arms, a wave of comfort falling over her. “Can I stay here tonight?”

“I trust the Aurors doing all they can to help, I just don’t trust the Ministry.” He shrugged, especially since he had been on the inside before and he knew when it came down to it, they’d shift their priorities to themselves rather then the people on the street. “An acquaintance at least.” He teased. “I don’t want you to leave because I don’t want you to get hurt.” He stated, because he cared more about her staying safe then he did for not being alone. “Of course you can stay here tonight, you’re crazy if you think I was going to let you leave.”

“Oh please– how could I possibly be useful to him? Actually, maybe don’t answer that. I don’t want to feel worse about myself by being reminded about all the things I’m incapable of,” she backtracked on herself with a light snort. “Maybe he was just nice? Or lactose intolerant?” Sam shrugged in response, not having initially considered why such a random act of kindness could be perceived as shady but now she was forced to think it over. “Let’s hope this coupon isn’t expired then, hmm? That would put a real wrench in your plans,” she teased as they began walking in the direction opposite from the odd stranger.

“I wasn’t going to list the things you were incapable of, more like state the fact that a lot of men are creeps and you’re an attractive woman. I’m sure he could have some sick, ulterior motives up his sleeve.” Eren pointed out, knowing that there were people in their world who were gross and sometimes he couldn’t help but think about the worst things people could do rather then the good things. “Maybe he was, I can’t remember the last time I met such a selfless person though.” He shrugged, though the other could be correct and this guy could simply be doing a good deed. “That’d be a really terrible prank, get us to go to the ice cream parlor, just for him to throw in a Uno reverse. I’m just hoping he’s not going to beat us there and like try and rob us or something.” Eren commented, frowning for a moment before looking at the other. “I’m being a real pessimist about this, aren’t I?”
