Recipe: Slow-Cooked Brisket and Onions — Slow Cooker Recipes from The Kitchn

If you ask me about comfort food, I will answer promptly: slow-cooked brisket. This old-fashioned pot roast, cooked quietly in the slow cooker all day with just a handful of ingredients and a mess of caramelized onions, makes a rich broth and meat that melts in your mouth. Sunday dinner, weeknight supper — whenever you eat it, this is a classic dish both convenient and comforting.

Brilliant event happening this Thursday at Warwick Market Hall Museum! Tickets are only £12 and will be a very interesting insight not only to taxidermy but to the life and work of Peter Spicer, the famous taxidermist of Warwick! Fun fact - The Punchbowl Pizza Express in Warwick was where Peter Spicer’s shop used to reside! There will also be a live demonstration by ethical taxidermist Jazmine Miles-Long, definitely worth a watch!!

Really interesting video about the potential collaboration exhibition of the Horniman Museum’s collection and painter Mark Fairnington’s taxidermy paintings. For anyone who have never seen museum stores, this is very very fascinating and portrays ‘behind the scenes’ at a museum in a whole new light. Volunteering at the Herbert Museum and Warwick Museum, I am privileged enough to see these amazing collections, and I think for anyone who is interested in taxidermy or museums, this is a really worthwhile exhibition to attend - the phrase child in a sweet shop comes to mind!
