Presentation day/Last day

The presentation day was interesting. I was able to observe different ways of presenting a project. In addition, our group presentation was perfect. We had fun preparing it while remaining convincing. In addtion, I would say that I am proud of us keeping our seriousness throughout this presentation. I would say to conclude that this day is a great end for our group and our quarter we were able to be faithful to our subject by playing the game with our costumes and our interpretation.

Final Step: The box is ready

Last friday, With my group we have completed the last step of the construction. We decided to leave spaces on each side of the box by cutting the textile into squares so that people could see the prototype inside with the QR code that provides the information for the project. In addition, we have completed our content on our site with several photos taken in the studio photo with Valérie as a model wearing the prototype clothing inspired by the manga universe, cosplay under more « casual » aesthetic, to make it more accessible to everyone.

Prototype Test

Last friday with our « One piece » group we tested our prototype including the metal box with the QR code of Mick and I and the jacket of Chai and Valérie in different places in the street to interact with pedestrians. Most people didn’t pay attention but some people like an old lady shared with us her opinion about the jacket inside. We asked her about her opinion about the box and the jacket, she told us she wouldn’t wear that and then she left. But finally, we had the visit of two young girls who are manga fans and who were kind enough to live the « One piece » experience and loved the jacket. To conclude, I would say that this test was enriching for us because we know what to modify for the future to make our object more attractive.

The return of One piece

“One piece” has been reformed. When we talked to Peter with Mick about the fact that it would be possible to reform "One piece"(Chai and Valérie) to unite our ideas to create a common project, I was quite surprised but at the same time I found it interesting and enriching to be able to join our project and those of Chai and Valérie. In addition, we had spoken with Chai and Valérie and we quickly understood that we had a lot in common and so why not reform “One piece” in order to combine our projects to make one. At the process level, it is very interesting to see a lot of content now and therefore a lot of choices for the rest of the final project. Honestly, I am happy with the way our group process went because we put the group back as it was at the beginning, after a few weeks of dividing it into two groups without sharing ideas. Make our working method more productive with more concrete and new ideas to make a project a success.

Mystery Box

Some drawings to explain the meaning of his own project and how it works for the test session. we will put our metal and black textile box in the street near our location and attract people's curiosity by this mysterious presence that can disturb people on this street and allow them to be more curious and know more about this object like people in cosplay because of their extravagant clothes through the QR code on each side of the box.

Work in progress

Last friday Mick and I worked in the metal workshop to build the main structure of own final object that will support QR codes.

After the interview we reunited with the group to share our new found knowledge. We discovered that we had a different view on the direction of our end product. We peacefully decided to Split the group “One Piece” in two pieces. We will still be friends and share information and thoughts in the future.

Two weeks ago we had an interview with Auri.

After offering him a coffee on the street we took him to a coffee place where we had a great interview for 40 minutes! I wil post parts of the interview later on.

Auri is studying at TU and knows a great deal about technology, lucky for us he also loves anime! We learned a lot about the possibilities of technology and he gave us some great anima recomandations. His favorite character was soma shogeki, a character from a cooking anime.

The interview gave us some great insight and inspiration. It was a bit scary to ask people on the street to talk with us but having done it made us more confident for the future.

IRIS DESIGN

Last Friday, I and Mick worked on a prototype scanner glasses in relation to a printed QR code. We wanted to live the digital experience because our subject aims at cybernetics and the futuristic universe. In addition, we have created a website that can show our prototype online thanks to the QR code. After that we did the test with people from the design academy. It was fun to seeing people’s reactions when they saw me with the QR code shirt, they all wanted to scan me. That’s why this day allowed us to find our content, the name and especiallythe next prototype.

Last week we designed different elements that allow us to work on a single element and accessories. This work allowed us to focus on a more precise element and reduce our field of work. In addition, we were able to discover that everyone in the group had different opinions on the subject, so we split the group in two to work better on our side.

With Mick we’re going to focus on the cybernetic world of manga.

Analysis of the location through the drawing

During the morning, I and my group had positioned themselves in different places in the location and analyzed what each person was doing, and we were able to see similar cycles in some people through their movements in the whole store. I think that analyzing a location through a drawing is more powerful than through a text. But I used both to make my analysis more representative like the manga drawings.

Camera Try out in the comic book store

This session was very interesting, we talked a lot with a group of Manga lovers and Japanese culture. These tests helped us a lot to know how to engage in a discussion before filming them to get to know and understand the people in front of us. I thought it was more complicated than that because before most people I asked for pictures in the street refused because they were afraid of the camera. But we took the time to talk and listen to people in the same universe as us and it was easier.

Two articles on two different designers: Between Streetwear and luxury. These two environments are currently working together like Louis Vuitton - supreme and Ralph Lauren -Palace That's why I’ve been interested in these two personalities to better understand our current fashion trends through Japanese culture.

The world of football inspires me all the more through the evolution of jersey technologies and its presence in the “fashion world” through its graphic codes and the color of each team.

Maharishi is one of the brands that inspire me, It has always included strong natural fiber hemp and recycled military clothing in their collection. Traditional Japanese culture is the trademark that blends with innovation, new material technologies, and identity color code.
