This is Michelle & Chris who are one of the endless couples out there who had their wedding plans upended by covid, lockdowns, restrictions etc. Instead of drowning in the funk, these guys stayed positive and adapted to the things that were out of their control. In the end we shot this gorgeous elopement earlier in the year and I could not be more excited to photograph their big party early next year with all of their favourite people. What a radical way to do it, perhaps working out for the better by having one day with energy focused on each other and the other focused on everyone they love. In the deepest, darkest moments of lockdown, what started as an idea for a weekend away with mates soon escalated (rather drastically) to the bold ambition of pulling together a workshop / retreat / hoedown… thing. After a few false starts (thank you covid 😐), we’re chuffed to exit #lockdownlyfe like Ace Ventura from the rhino bottom to announce that we’re having a SNAP HOEDOWN 🦏💩 🕺🏻 👏🥂 Listen up, @olisansom and I have had the pleasure of attending, running and presenting at a few things. We knew if we were going to do this thing we needed to do it our way, flipping all the norms of keynotes, inspirational clips and ‘content creation’ on their head and simply just make something that we ourselves would want to attend. So it’s going to be different, engaging, interactive, informative and straight up fun. Lord knows we need that 🤞🙄🤞 While we’re going to share with y’all soon some of the details of what makes Hoedown special, some things you just need to be there in the sanitised flesh to experience for yourself. Kind of weird trying to organise a multi-day event for photographers while in lockdown… But @oli.sansom @madelinekatephotography & @mirandastokkel know this is exactly the pick-me-up we all need, and we need it soon.
