🍏 - For something they secretly wish didn’t exist.

Birthdays. He rarely celebrates his own and never has, despite pressure from his parents to have big parties when he was younger. To be honest, that might be why he fucking hates them so much. They were never about him, they were always about his family showing off. Erik rarely tells people about it, and never makes a fuss. If he could get away with not celebrating at all, he would, but typically ends up just chilling at home with friends and food or something. He doesn’t actively tell people he hates it, because then he gets questions, so he just…avoids the topic altogether. Unless you sing. Then he’ll fucking drop you m8.

🐇 - For a secret item they keep (stuffed animal, comfort object, etc)

It’s only a secret because it’s so bloody sentimental, not because he’s embarrassed about it, but he keeps his daughter’s Christening bracelet on his work desk at all times. Zadie outgrew it, and Giulietta was kind enough to let him keep it after they divorced. It’s nice to have a reminder of her with him, even if he can’t have her around anymore.

Okay, obviously someone knows this already, but he is squeamish as hell when it comes to injuries and blood. Not so much on others–that he can deal with, and to an extent, help with–but if he hurts himself? Nope. The biggest fucking drama of this man’s life was finding out he was diabetic and had to stab himself with a needle multiple times a day for the rest of his life. Obviously, he’s over that now, but it took several breakdowns with his mother to get there.

Erik is fussy as fuck about who keeps him company, generally. Any talk of feelings aside (although that obvs helps) there’s a reason he goes to her when he feels like shit, and it’s because above everything else, she’s a good friend. I feel like that’d important because IMAGINE BEING STUCK WITH ONE PERSON WHO ENDED UP DRIVING YOU INSANE.
