I'm never parting with canonical romantic Sam/Aomaris. It's so special to me.

Aomaris who never used pursued anyone romantically or otherwise in the Abyssal Plains, his first love and kiss is the MC. He didn't even use his incubi side to get energy and instead relied on his brute genetics.

(Sidenote: We didn't really get an explanation for why Sam never tapped into his incubi enthrallment. We can assume that it's because he took a protective role over his brothers' safety especially with Damien's life being at constant risk. Sam is also a special case of being 50% Brute demon which means he has more of an affinity for his brute side and rage magic than his brothers leaving him the only one able to drain anger. We know he definitely got into fights so he was probably using his brute strength to his advantage so he never had to think about using his incubi abilities. Aomaris being more brute demon than his brothers could have made him feel too similar to his father and a disappointment for being too brutish. Sam was also essentially a robin hood for justice and giving to the poor. This also makes him a good future ruler, he as a royal sees how the lower class suffers)

Aomaris, who improved on his anger issues and became more vulnerable to connect to MC. Aomaris, who had a romantic proposal planned and swallowed any pride to ask his brothers for their support to make it perfect for MC. Aomaris, who learned to dance from James. Aomaris, who likely asked Erik to design or tailor that gorgeous green dress and his matching suit outfit because he canonically has no fashion sense. His hair also looked slightly more tamed than usual!

Aomaris, the only brother throughout the game to state his wedding preferences for a small intimate wedding but is willing to adjust for MC. Aomaris, the only brother that brings up demonic marriage. Aomaris, who is so in love and devoted that he wants to be connected to MC in life and death, to his share his culture. Aomaris, who learned from MC that he was never a monster. Aomaris, who wants to be tied to MC in all ways possible, that he found his soulmate.

As much as I love all of the incubi and I do find it difficult to stick to one main favourite, it makes complete sense that Aomaris is the canon route. The amount of depth in this man is amazing, he is a good example of a Tsundere not being reduced to a trope

Why Erik and Sam are like freaked out when MC initiated the Kiss to give them some of her energy? They were like okay when they stole her kiss (first kiss in Sam's case) at their first meeting

Think of it like a punished puppy: The puppy did something bad and you let the puppy know that it did something bad. Why would it think it could be rewarded for something it got in trouble for?

James - “The Prince” - A strict mirror image of his father, scorning James for abandoning his duty for his own selfish needs.

Erik - “The Shamed” - The true person behind Erik, ashamed of the persona he now wears when he simply doesn’t know better.

Sam - “The Brute” - The most dangerous of the shadows, locked by chains but doesn’t speak; only snarls and roars like a brute.

Matthew - “The Adult” - The real face of Matthew, who is just as much of an adult as James, but hates the childish bullshit Matthew pulls.

Damien - “The Mistake” - A self-depreciating shadow that makes Damien question why he was born and why he should continue on.

Who’s Really to Blame for the Destruction of Diana’s Kingdom?

Well, here I am! Ready to make this post. I wasn’t sure that people were actually going to see that post but I’m glad that some people liked it and agreed. It makes me happy to know that I’m not alone. I also hope I didn’t offend to many people. I digress.

Throughout the story we hear about what happened to Diana’s castle, which is what caused her to declare war upon the Demon Lord. Not only are we told this, it is indicated that we are to blame. If not us, then the boys.

What I don’t understand is why the Demon Lord is shifting SO MUCH to us. As said by Diana, we took care of people in need without any information about why they are in the human world or how they got there. Why should we be blamed because of it?

I know how we can be quick to assume that we had them in our care so clearly, we are to blame. But when looking at this more logically there is clearly a much better reason.

To start off, Diana came back to her castle in flames. Meaning she didn’t go back, tell the Demon Lord she failed, and be severely punished for it. She went back and it was in flames.

Some great evidence to support this is in the beginning of her route. You both enter the portal and find the castle in flames. We can only assume that this is true for the other routes. Now why would the Demon Lord just burn the castle while Diana was gone? Did he know she was going to fail? Or did her set this up from the start to get her to leave?

We know that Diana is a very powerful demon especially for her age. If the Demon Lord was planning on destroying the kingdom from the beginning getting through Diana would be his only obstacle for doing so.

So he uses the reason of marriage and power to get Diana to leave and get the boys so he can destroy the kingdom.

This now begs the question, why would he burn the kingdom down? Maybe because he’s a mad, abusive, waste of space who shouldn’t have been given any authority? Or maybe out of spite for his sons leaving?

“Then wouldn’t that make it the boy’s fault for leaving their dad to cause chaos to the region?” Well whoever asked that to answer that question, probably not?

When you look at it in one way, yes they should be blamed. Because of them leaving they caused their father to do stuff like this. But in another way, no why would they stay there if their father would do stuff like that.

Honestly to god, would you want to stay in a world where your father is a tyrant and he basically kills you mom and sets you up with someone you have no idea who they are? I wouldn’t.

You have to understand that the boys didn’t just leave to enjoy human life, they also left to get away from their father.

That’s just deep and sad. Why would blame them for that?

This is exactly why I don’t blame the boys or myself for stuff in the Demon World. We’re not in the Demon World. We were for a week, but we don’t live there (unless you count Diana or Sam’s route)

We were only trying to take care of people who were trying to escape an abusive situation. Why would we be called the bad guys for that?

So who is to blame? Frankly I don’t want to blame anyone. It’s such a situation so dire that passing the blame around the circle just seems immature. “Isn’t that what the whole point of this post was about?” Probably, but if we had to blame someone, I would just keep it simple and say the Demon Lord.

In conclusion, the Demon Lord is a dick and I want to give the boys and Diana a big hug :3 oh yeah and we’re also not to blame.

I feel like most of the posts I have for this fandom is kind of just me complaining about stuff and voicing my opinion. It’s kind of dark. If you have any suggestions about what to talk about please let me know. My box is open. I also make art so I’ll try to post that, and I’m also apart of other fandoms. So I’ll make stuff about that.

I honestly agree.

Throughout the series we are told and shown that the Demon Lord was a ruthless tyrant that had no moral compass and was driven by his own insanity and need for power. He 100% was going to burn down Diana's kingdom whether or not she returned with one of the boys. The only reason the Mc and the incubi are blamed for the burning of her kingdom and deaths of her family is because Diana, in her state of grief, blames them for not cooperating. She believes that if it wasn't for the boys leaving and if it wasn't for the Mc being stubborn and not giving the boys up, that, this all could've been prevented. She mostly blames the boys for leaving in the first place, for giving up their duty as princes and nobles. The one time the Demon Lord wanted to handle things diplomatically by agreeing to marry James to Diana was the time that the boys decided to up and leave. In Diana's eyes, this could've been prevented if the boys had stayed. But they didn't.

And in Sam's route we see that she mostly blames him cause she thought that Sam, out of all his brothers, would have the most sense in coming back home to the Demon world. The only time she doesn't blame the incubi, is in her route, where she blames herself for failing to get the incubi back and for staying in the human realm for so long with the Mc. That is the one time where she believes that the fault is on her. When in reality, the fault is on none of them.

It feels like a classic case of victims blaming each other because it's easier to blame someone of your level that you can see and talk to without things escalating to violence than it is to come to terms with that fact that nothing could have been done or the person that is at fault being someone you'll never get closure from.

I agree with all of this wholeheartedly. The Demon Lord is ruthless, bloodthirsty and power hungry. He has no moral compass, not even empathy for his children, not even his heir is granted kindness. He is simply evil just because he has the power to do so and no one could stop his rise to power.

All of the brothers had visible confusion and dread when they recieved the news of an arranged marriage in exchange for a neighboring kingdom not being massacred. Maybe they thought it was a trap? Erik's immediate response was "But that's uncharacteristic of him... usually he'd just attack with the army."

So I would take this a step further, The Demon Lord never intended to give Diana's kingdom mercy. He only "agreed" to the marriage arrangement once he learned that Diana was a progeny. So my theory is that, if the sons stayed, Diana would have been married to one of them (probably James, though Damien does state that the Demon Lord is undecided) and her kingdom would have still been irreparably destroyed. He wanted to break her spirit so he could use her gifts as a tool because she can control armies effortlessly. Who knows, maybe Diana would have been able to save some of her people as this time, she's in the same realm while the massacre is happening.

This is also why I feel doubt about Diana and James supposedly falling in love... How could she love someone whose father murdered her family? Maybe I could see it for a different character but Diana's characterisation even in the second game, isn't forgivable about her kingdom and family's tragic end.

If they loved her, no. Demons are possessive about love and would rather die protecting their partner before even thinking about leaving them. Imagine it to be like finally finding your soul mate and becoming forever tied to them. Even if the thought crossed their mind, it would only last for less than a second before they say no to that idea.

Erik - Bringing you to a lavish club (noble club not rave club) for dinner and dancing
