As a freelance content writer, my journey began while still navigating the halls of university life. Although one might expect a plethora of published articles in my portfolio, I find myself hesitating, unsure of which piece truly encapsulates my evolving style and knowledge. 

Upon revisiting my past creations, the urge to rewrite them with my newfound skills and perspectives is irresistible.

In crafting this recent sample article for your consideration, I faced a challenging task. Initially, I found myself frozen, staring blankly at the computer screen as thoughts on how to impress flooded my mind. After a few minutes of contemplation, a realization struck me— 

is presenting a sample the best way to showcase my abilities?

Employers, each with their unique writing preferences and styles, likely have an "ideal writer" in mind. Sharing this sample may risk alienating myself from the position by not aligning with their expectations.

However, amidst these thoughts, I reminded myself to breathe ...

and take a moment of respite. 

Inhaling deeply, I filled myself with fresh, positive vibrations. As cliché as it sounds, I firmly believe that what you manifest in your thoughts manifests in your life.

This sample article is a testament to my motivation, determination, confidence, and passion. Perfection may elude me, but I am open to molding myself into the precise writer you envision. My arsenal of skills and talents has propelled me successfully through various tasks and projects. 

Past encounters with failure and rejection have become stepping stones to learning, accepted with grace.

Despite obtaining degrees in Commerce and Arts, pressure from my Asian parents led me down the path of a routine administrative job in a cubicle. However, the monotony of spending most of my life feeling bored in such a setting prompted me to reassess my priorities. 

Life, I believe, should be lived immersed in what you love. 

Thus, I am determined to write, imagine, and embark on adventures, even if confined to the safety of my room.

Given the opportunity, I commit to maximizing every writing endeavor—infusing creativity and utility not only for my benefit but also for the enhancement of your projects. 

I am unequivocally the writer you are searching for, so I invite you to make the decision to hire me.

Courtship in the Philippines

Courtship in this context is the act of gentle persuasion to make someone like you and become your romantic partner or better become your spouse. 

Generally, it is the man who's to show effort and sincere thoughtful actions towards the woman of his desires. During this period, he should be showing off his best qualities to get the acceptance from the apple of his eye.

Unlike any other country, Philippines have a unique style of courtship. Traditionally, one couldn’t get a sweetheart without having to court first. Although ‘millennials’ now have a different perspective with romanticism, courtship is still quite an experience. Today, girls will feel envious of other girls being courted. 

Why? Let me give you an idea.

In the Philippines, when a guy likes a girl and wants her to become his darling, all he have to do is follow these steps: First, get a total makeover – get a clean, neat haircut, wear that expensive cologne that’s been hiding for special occasions, and put on that polo, pants and shoes that’s only been reserved for Sundays. 

Second, buy impressive gifts – although bouquet and chocolates will do.

Third, muster all the courage to go and knock on their door. When it opens, the boy is considered lucky to even meet the parents. They will let him in their “sala” and they will interrogate him until they’re satisfied with his answers. 

It’s another way to say that he needs to court the folks before he actually get to court her. Supposedly, he needs to be coming from a decent and well-off family and is studying in a decent school with an expensive curriculum. Or else.

That leads him to fourth, finally sitting down with her in the same room, in person. They will be sitting in opposite benches with the girl in between her parents. It is a must to keep smiling and calm despite the loud drumming in one’s chest. When she smiles back and her parents keep their cool – not to mention that huge sharp bolo hiding ready just under the sofa, the boy is granted to continue the courtship the following days until he gets victory. 

And the effort doesn’t end there, apparently.

One common courtship picture is the guy standing outside the house of his love interest at night. Usually, he does a serenade by playing a guitar while singing. He does this until the girl hears him and opens up her window for him. 

If she’s fallen for his singing she’ll continue to listen and if not she’ll pour him piss from an “arinola.” You mostly see that on local movies. Sometimes effort doesn’t really guarantee, but your patience and persistence does.

It’s easy right? Well, if she says no after a year or so at least he did try. 

It’s not that unfortunate as it may sound. 

Filipinos are popular for being intimate and family-oriented because courtship actually made it so. During those times of romantic pursuit you get to know and criticize who you’re going to spend the rest of your life with. It doesn’t matter looking like an idiot so long as you get to show effort and sincerity with your feelings for someone you love and that impression lasts a lifetime.

Years ago, I began with basic lettering, and now, look where I am. 

It's amazing how things flourish when you invest your sincere effort and unwavering belief into something you're truly passionate about. \

There was a time when I believed these beautiful creations were beyond my reach, but 

I successfully shifted my mindset. 

Undoubtedly, the power of our minds and its motivating tricks are remarkable.

So, for anyone who loves calligraphy and dreams of creating their own, remember this:

"Train your mind to see the good in everything." 

Whether you realize it or not, life operates on the principle that whatever you think, you attract. 

I've been a steadfast believer in the Law of Attraction for years, yet I'll admit mastering the art of easily manifesting my desires remains a work in progress. 

However, this mantra serves as my daily note-to-self: practice is progress. 

My current situation is a direct reflection of my past thoughts, but it's crucial not to accept it as my defining reality. 

Instead, believe that you are the best version of yourself and are already living it, even if the evidence isn't immediately apparent. Much like my journey into calligraphy 

– a belief turned into reality. 

Acknowledge the existence of negativity in the world, but recognize that you inherently deserve the good. 

Train yourself to embrace positivity a little more each day.

You type 'beginning' into your search engine, and what mostly pops up is a seed planted or one that's just starting to sprout. 

It's interesting how everything seems to commence with something you've sown 

– a notion I've only recently grasped. 

My initial intention was to convey that I'm essentially starting from scratch. I've forgotten my old social media account names and passwords, prompting me to plant anew for the promise of a blossoming timeline.

There's a certain joy in writing and creating posts. 

When I express myself, it's not just about personal fulfillment; it's about seeking recognition, connection, and above all, appreciation for my endeavors. After all, isn't appreciation the essence of creation? 

And in acknowledging this, 

there's a sense of gratitude – for everything. 

Despite losing my old posts and creations, I'm thankful that I can still craft something that might evolve into an inspiration.

The gratitude extends to the fact that I have a computer, allowing me to share this message with the world. Consider that slice of the pie chart representing those who are yet to realize the full potential of technology 

– a reminder of the privilege we possess.

In the face of doubt, I encourage you to start doing something, anything that brings you comfort. 

Embrace the idea that even if you fail, there's joy in the attempt. 

So, here I am.
