tvN ‘Hotel Del Luna’ transforms into ghost story, a fantasy which put consolation to the cynical and gloomy society

Talking about ‘poetic justice’, we often think of a story where the villain eventually fall and the good lived happily. From this point of view, the poetic justice in tvN drama <Hotel Del Luna> is a little unusual.

<Hotel Del Luna> begins with the unjust death of good people, it is a story that releases the soul that can not leave this world even after his/ her death. It does not end with ‘I lived happily,’ instead it unravels the unrighteousness and ends with ‘leave this world well.’

The structure is similar with <Home of the Legendary>. In <Home of the Legendary> at first the ghosts appeared as objects of fear but after we know about it, they are victims of unjust death. The ghosts who want to unravel the unrighteousness are saved by someone then they leave the world.

<Hotel Del Luna> brought a typical ghost stories and created a unique place called Del Luna Hotel. The hotel is listed in the actual ward office but it is also a fantasy place that is visible only to the eyes of the dead and extraordinary people. In this moderately mixed reality and fantasy, the ghosts who hold grudges go to ‘that’ world. It is a setting that shows Buddhist philosophy.

If you look at this philosophy the other way, it also tells that you can’t find any way out in depression and despair of reality. Happiness does not exist in reality but only in the other side of the world, the origin.

That’s why the character of Hotel Del Luna’s owner, Jang Man Wol (Lee Ji Eun), is awfully cynical. Like a divine punishment, she’s been living for more than a thousand years, trapped inside the old tree, working to send the ghosts who died unjustly to ‘that’ world.

She does not have much compassion/ sympathy towards people and the world, also indifferent when it comes to healing the ghosts. She handles things as if they are business, working to make a large quantity of money. Her hopeless state resembles the old tree in front of the hotel that seems alive but dead.

The place which filled with the aura of the death is getting warmer gradually as Goo Chan Sung (Yeo Jin Goo), a human that seems to be weak, came in to that place. Even though Goo Chan Sung would make ghastly distorted expression, get flustered and run away when he saw the ghosts at first, he is a warm-hearted person who understands the ghosts’ unfortunate stories.

He is going to be gradually immersed in the ghosts’ situation, helping them whole-heartedly. Seeing this side of Chan Sung, Jang Man Wol who used to look at the world (whether it is the real world or the world of ghosts) cynically, will start to change little by little. She worries about him getting in dangerous situations because he always give his best to help the ghosts. The moment she helps him, the leaves begin to grow in her old-tree-like heart.

<Hotel Del Luna> seems to be a strange melodrama between Jang Man Wol and Go Chan Sung. It also provides comfort in cynical and gloomy world since the truth of those who have been killed unjustly is revealed. Even though it’s true that the ‘poetic justice’ outcome is comforting, there is even bigger thing than that, it’s that there is someone who listen to their unjust stories. The space called Del Luna Hotel sometimes frightening, sometimes comical, but it is a place where consolation energy is filled little by little.

Goo Chan Sung who was startled and ran away when he saw the ghosts’ gruesome appearances in the beginning, as his fear gradually disappear and he starts to feel sympathy, Del Luna Hotel begins to warm up. Perhaps the viewers will be addicted to Jang Man Wol and Goo Chan Sung’s sweet melodrama and will gradually fall into their warm conscience.

The world does not change anyway. Leaves may grow in your heart if you do not close the door of your heart firmly. That’s why the public is falling for <Hotel Del Luna>’s fantasy.

[TRANS] 190814 1000 Years Old Woman, Jang Man Wol, Worth The 6-Year Wait

Hong Sisters created ‘Hotel Del Luna’ while making 'My Girlfriend is a Gumiho’ in 2010. In 2013, they tried to showcase Hotel Del Luna but they gave up in the end because the drama production conditions at that time did not allow them to visualize the hotel. In the end, the two writers presented 'Master’s Sun'instead of 'Hotel Del Luna’.

Hotel Del Luna’s fantasy saw the light trough picturesque CG and art work. On the online page, there are a lot of articles that praise the visual effects and put tiger’s and hotel’s CG images under the title of “Hotel DeLuna’s CG level”. It was a higher level than the tvN drama 'Asdal Chronicles’, which cost 40 billion won.

They put in a lot of effort “to give a more realistic fantasy feel than drama 'Goblin’ ” (Park Sung-jin, CEO of Digital Ideas). It took them 3 months to make space station CG work for the scene where actor Lee Si Eon and IU face-to-face. The five-storey hotel in the scenario has grown to multi-storey building after meeting to add mystery.

The interior of the Hotel Del Luna is set in a drama studio on a 6,600 m2 (2000 pyeong) neighborhood near Yangji Interchange (IC) in Yongin, Gyeonggi-do. They also made the 'living’-tree from scratch, “The big old tree that symbolizing IU, the pillars were built with cement then we individually attached the bark, moss and flowers on its surface” (Choi Ki Ho, Art Director).

‘Hotel Del Luna’ Style Director, Hong Soo Hee, said “we don’t recycle clothing… even if the shoes look the same, the heels are different. IU is also painstakingly trying on the outfits for more than 10 times a day.”

“Let’s not restrict the costumes for a God-like character like Jang Man Wol.” Hong Style Director took Hotel Del Luna script, started working and spoke with her team. Jang Man Wol’s fashion is made by the Style Director, drama costume team, and personal stylist (Lee Ji Eun’s stylist). The Producer (Oh Choong Hwan) and Style Director work on the concept based on the script they received, then Lee Ji Eun and her personal stylist make the final decision. An extravagant, eccentric but warm-hearted hotel owner, Jang Man Wol, who has lived and transcends through time and space for 1,300 years, presents a variety of styles, from historical costumes to fancy dresses.

Hong Style Director said, “3 weeks before the drama production has started, everyone was worried about what kind of costume will be suitable for the opening (first scene). We adjusted the fabric (material), the drapability even the length to match with the hotel atmosphere. The golden gown thus created, succeeded in capturing Jang Man Wol’s alluring image by choosing heavy fabric and lengthened it. Lee Ji Eun also participated in discussing the idea of the purple dress that appeared in Episode 1.

Lee Ji Eun could recycle clothes from her previous historical drama, but due to Hong Style Director and Oh Choong Hwan PD desire of wanting to keep Jang Man Wol’s character to the fullest, all the clothes in the historical scenes are newly made. Hong Style Director said, "I consulted with the director to create/produce a new one in order to keep the character to the fullest. I made a costume using detailed design that only appeared on screen for 3 seconds. For the shoes, we prepared low heels for action scene and high heels for close-ups.”

Hong Style Director said, “the more frequent the actor does the fitting (tries on the costume), the more complete the costume. Lee Ji Eun did it enthusiastically despite her busy schedule”. 1 cm alteration on the lower end of the clothes can change the perception, that’s why Lee Ji Eun tried on the costumes more than 10 times per day.”

hotel del luna & its superior lunacy

can’t believe i’m writing a serious post on a hong sisters drama in the year of our lord 2019 but here goes (even though the approaching second half doesn’t have my faith. like. at all). in any case, reasons as to why it’s superior (not that i have much room to talk, since i’ve seen only two others):

first of all, jang man wol and goo chan sung have no dependency on each other which forces them to be together nor have they been bound together by a supernatural object of some sort.

did chan sung’s dad sell him to man wol? yes. but was he given a choice to leave in the very beginning by man wol? also yes. 

point is, they stay together and there’s nothing forcing them to do so. chan sung sees ghosts and that’s why? lol no he’s used to it now (and eventually would’ve been even if he didn’t take up the manager position in the end) they willingly seek out each other’s company and supernatural stuff steers them but never forces them to remain together. “you can lead a man to water but you can’t make him drink” is what’s going on, personally. 

there’s no hiding that they like being around each other! they like taking care of each other and they never lie to themselves about it! they think of each other when they see things and them eating together is a Thing, there’s nothing of the whirlwind-romance/oh fuck it’s fate guess we’ll just go along with it going on. even if chan sung is chong myung’s reincarnated persona, man wol’s getting the opportunity to fall for chan sung first and foremost & that’s v v important to me. she’s not looking at a ghost when she looks at this neurotic carebear and that narrative choice is such a good one imo

they’re actually very earnest about how they want good things for each other and even support one another in achieving their goals. also their teasing isn’t one sided! (also the jokes are never made at only one person’s expense) & nothing about their relationship is passive in the least! most importantly there’s no waiting for the other shoe to drop

for a show primarily centered around ghosts there are no jump scares. having headphones on doesn’t fill you with dread

the styling department, man. that’s pretty self explanatory lol (tho i wish they’d fix yeo jin goo’s hair. i still think it looks weird on him)

also jang man wol is like *headlining* headlining here. in master’s sun, if gong hyo jin hadn’t met so ji sub she would’ve been at a disadvantage with how she saw ghosts all the time. in a korean odyssey had jin sun mi not tricked son oh gong into wearing the bracelet she would’ve literally been eaten by evil spirits. but here? man wol is the mvp who needs no such thing from chan sung (vice versa, strangely enough, is also applicable for chan sung, and i’ve never felt that they weren’t on equal footing after he genuinely became the general manager. he’s always questioning her decisions & calling her out on her capitalism so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

you can, of course, argue that chan sung is making the flowers bloom in the tree but it’s not something that man wol can’t live without happening. it’s essential to end her eternal wait but he’s not rescuing her from immediate danger, you feel?

also in hwayugi remember how the associated merch (the red monkey!) was centered around son oh gong? here the motifs are always moon related and circle back to man wol & always like *revolve* around her

it also allows women to be in positions of power in a way master’s sun and hwayugi didn’t. jin sun mi gains power over son oh gong through the bracelet but man wol needs no such thing for power over, well, literally everyone. in master’s sun, so ji sub is the one who holds power over gong hyo jin and here? exactly none of that. the power man wol has over chan sung is as his boss (at times even has none when she’s acting like his charge), not his master even though it’d have been so easy to depict their dynamic in that way

like they choose each other repeatedly! that’s very sexy of them, personally (“don’t laugh at me! i did it because i thought it’d make you happy!” or perhaps even my favorite: “you said you’d take care of me! why aren’t you taking care of me?” or maybe even the indirect “don’t be lonely when you see me off because you’re the one who’ll have to; you took responsibility for me”)

also past man wol’s flashbacks always parallel her present time with chan sung, which is nice because she gets the opportunity say things, to express her regard and care in a way past-her never got the chance for due to, well, circumstances being absolute shit

almost forgot to include my fav scene from ep 2 where man wol literally saves chan sung from a knight in shining armor (i went mad over the symbolism ngl) with a hairpin–a traditionally feminine object!–and just. replies to his constipated text in person and. forgives him (how many people has she gotten the opportunity to forgive with the life she’s led, huh? this kept me up at night because i’m an obsessive freak) and even goes as far as telling him that she only did so because he wore the shoes she bought him to his fancy forbes-listed workplace. 

in any case, the point i’m trying to make here is that nothing about man wol gets stifled or filtered even though everything we know of her we know from chan sung and he’s not always objective. she’s amplified through other characters and we’re never deprived from witnessing the range of emotions that lord over her that she reflects (so very much like the moon the hotel’s named after!) through her admittedly glorious screen time

neither of them are Alone in the World™ as man wol has always had her staff backing her up through the ages who are united in their own motives to ensure she runs the hotel and chan sung’s father and best friend have supported him through thick and thin, for the most part

the fantasy aspect may be less rich in comparison to hwayugi but it’s just as vibrant imo

it’s always been acknowledged that chan sung is naive and has never been portrayed as someone of less intelligence because of it. his power in the narrative quite literally *stems* from his innate goodness

the fairy tales & mythology parallels they play around with here? again, man wol is the mvp who propels things into motion and chan sung acts as a motivator, for the most part and that’s, comparing it to their past work, very subversive of the hong sisters

and honestly? we’ve come such a far way from the formulaic imbalance of power we’re accustomed to seeing in hong sisters’ dramas and i literally can’t wait for the rest of it (even though i’m like, 90% sure that it’ll be a letdown.)

Q. Bagaimana jika aku belum memiliki passport atau KTP?

A. Gunakan nama aslimu dan pastikan jika kamu nantinya akan membuat passport, gunakan nama yang sama. Jika kamu nanti berniat pergi ke konser atau fanmeeting IU di Korea, kamu akan membutuhkan passport untuk proses identifikasi.

Q. Apakah keanggotaan Fanclub resmi IU ini bersifat seumur hidup atau adakah biaya yang dikeluarkan setiap tahunnya?

A. Keanggotaan ini tidak bersifat seumur hidup dan hanya akan berlaku hingga perekrutan Fanclub selanjutnya (sekitar 1 tahun). Jika kamu tidak memperbaharui keanggotaanmu dengan membayar biaya perekrutan, kamu akan secara otomatis kehilangan keanggotaanmu.

MERCHANDISE RESMI

Q. Apa yang akan aku dapatkan jika aku bergabung dalam Fanclub resmi IU “Uaena Generasi ke-3” kali ini?

A. Tahun ini biaya keanggotaan Fanclub resmi IU adalah 25000 won (sekitar Rp 327.000,-) kemudian ditambah dengan biaya pengiriman tergantung masing-masing negara. Keuntungan yang kamu dapat adalah kartu keanggotaan Fanclub dengan nama dan nomor keanggotaan, merchandise resmi (tunggu detail selanjutnya), akses prioritas untuk menghadiri acara-acara musik atau syuting acara televisi, mendapat prioritas untuk menghadiri konser solo dan fanmeeting IU di Korea Selatan, serta beberapa keuntungan online/ offline.

Q. Bagaimana caraku mendapatkan lightstick resmi berwarna putih? Akankah aku dapat membelinya diluar negeri?

A. Pada tahun 2017, meskipun lighstick resmi berwarna putih dijual secara online, lightstick tersebut HANYA dapat diambil di TEMPAT KONSER. Lightstick resmi ini dijual di lokasi konser dan fanmeeting IU di Korea.

Q. Jika aku membayar keanggotaan Fanclub resmi IU, akankah mereka mengirimkan semua merchandise ke rumahku?

A. Pada tahun 2017, pengiriman internasional berlaku. Ketika kamu membayar keanggotaan Fanclub, kamu juga harus membayar biaya pengiriman tambahan. Biaya pengiriman EMS tergantung dari masing-masing negara.

FANCAFE/ KONSER

Q. Apakah aku harus bergabung dalam Fancafe IU agar dapat pergi ke konser dan fanmeeting IU di Korea?

A. Kamu tidak perlu bergabung karena kamu dapat membeli tiketnya secara langsung di Melon Ticket. Jika kamu bergabung dalam keanggotaan Fanclub, kamu akan mendapat prioritas (dalam rentang waktu tertentu) untuk membeli tiket lebih awal dengan cara masuk dalam Melon Ticket menggunakan akun yang sama yang kamu gunakan untuk membeli keanggotaan Fanclub.

Q. Apakah aku harus bergabung dalam Fancafe IU untuk bergabung dalam Fanclub resmi IU?

A. Tidak. Kamu tidak perlu menjadi anggota Fancafe IU untuk bergabung dalam Fanclub resmi IU. Tetapi jika kamu ingin mendapat akses masuk dan dapat membuka ‘Fanclub Member Zone’ di fancafe IU dan mendapat akses prioritas acara-acara online maupun offline di Korea selain konser dan fanmeeting (contoh: acara musik, syuting acara televisi, dan lain-lain), maka SETELAH bergabung dalam fanclub, kamu harus bergabung dalam fancafe IU.

Q. Apakah nantinya anggota Fanclub (sudah membayar) harus aktif dalam Fancafe IU?

A. Tidak. Kamu tidak perlu aktif. Tetapi jika kamu ingin mendapat akses masuk dan dapat membuka konten eksklusif di ‘Uaena Zone’ di fancafe IU, maka SETELAH bergabung dalam fanclub, kamu HARUS menyelesaikan misi-misi yang telah disediakan dalam rentang waktu tertentu agar dapat naik level ke level tertinggi 팬클럽 우수회원 (Excellent Fanclub Member) dan mengakses konten eksklusif di ‘Uaena Zone’.

Q. Setelah bergabung dalam Fanclub resmi IU, bagaimana caraku membeli tiket prioritas konser/ fanmeeting?

A. Melon Ticket meminta kamu untuk memasukkan nama lengkap sesuai Passport, nomor keanggotaan Fanclub dan tanggal lahir untuk membeli tiket dalam periode pembelien tiket prioritas yang ditentukan. Jika nomor keanggotaan Fanclub belum tersedia saat kamu melakukan pemesanan, gunakan nomor pesanan Fanclub di Melon Ticket (dapat ditemukan di bukti pembelian).

Q. Berapa banyak tiket yang dapat aku beli sebagai seorang anggota Fanclub resmi IU?

A. Pada konser IU di tahun 2017, anggota Fanclub hanya diperbolehkan untuk membeli 1 tiket per orang selama periode pembelian tiket prioritas yang ditentukan, DAN 1 tiket tambahan per orang dalam periode pembelian normal. Jika kamu tidak membeli tiket sama sekali dalam periode pembelien tiket prioritas, kamu dapat membeli 2 tiket dalam periode pembelian normal sekaligus (jika masih tersedia).

Q. Jika temanku bergabung dalam Fanclub resmi IU, bisakah aku menggunakan akun Melon Tiket miliknya untuk membeli tiket konser IU?

A. Jika kamu menggunakan akun Melon Ticket milik temanmu untuk membeli tiket, teman kamu harus datang ke tempat konser dengan membawa passportnya dan mengambil tiket tersebut (bukan kamu). Staf akan memeriksa orang yang mengambil tiket dan mencocokkan dengan foto dan nama dalam passport (nama dan foto orang dalam passport harus sama).

Q. Bagaimana cara bergabung dalam Fancafe IU?

A. Akan kami uraikan selanjutnya dengan rincian:

Bagian 1 : Pembuatan akun Daum (menggunakan akun kakao)

Bagian 2 : Cara verifikasi identitas dan bergabung dalam fancafe uaena

CARA PEMBELIAN TIKET MASUK FANCLUB UAENA GENERASI KE-3

Gunakan komputer atau mode desktop. Pastikan kamu me-non aktifkan popup blocker di browser internetmu (bisa dilihat di pengaturan browser).

Kamu HARUS sudah mendaftarkan akun di website Melon Ticket Global (klik disini) menggunakan email kamu dan nama sesuai Passport atau KTP dan gunakan nama yang sama untuk mendaftar keanggotaan Fanclub. Kamu tidak dapat mengganti nama kamu di akun Melon Ticket Global kecuali kamu menghubungi customer service. Cara yang paling mudah jika ada kesalahan penulisan nama adalah dengan menggunakan alamat email lainnya untuk membuat akun baru dengan nama yang sama dengan nama yang tertera pada passport dan KTP.

Masuk ke halaman ‘IU OFFICIAL FANCLUB 〈UAENA〉 3rd Recruitment’ di Melon Ticket Global (klik disini).

Klik ‘Get Tickets’ lalu akan muncul halaman seperti dibawah ini.

Klik pada kotak yang berisi angka ’0′ di tabel, lalu pilih ‘1′.

Isi ‘Melon Ticket ID’ dengan alamat email yang kamu gunakan untuk log in di website Melon Ticket Global.

Isi ‘Daum Fancafe ID’ (sama dengan ID Daum, bukan alamat email). Cara mengetahui ID (아이디) Daum jika lupa (syarat: sudah pernah mendaftar dan Log in ke situs Daum) adalah dengan cara klik disini, maka akan muncul ID Daum. Jika kamu belum mempunyai ID Daum, lihatlah tutorial “Bagian 1 : Pembuatan Akun Daum” di bagian bawah.

Masukkan alamat rumah kamu (mode bahasa Inggris) secara lengkap (termasuk kode pos).

Pilih metode pembayaran (kamu hanya dapat membayar menggunakan kartu kredit internasional Visa / Mastercard/ JCB / UnionPay).

Jika setelah ini terjadi error (tidak dapat membuka halaman) maka pastikan popup blocker browser kamu sudah non-aktif), contoh pada Google Chrome : Chrome - Preferences - Advanced - Site Settings - Cookies - pastikan ‘Block third-party cookies’ sudah non-aktif)

Masukkan nomor kartu kredit kamu (8 digit awal dengan cara diketik biasa, 8 digit akhir dengan cara klik masing-masing angka).

Jika pembelianmu berhasil, di bagian ‘My Ticket’ akan muncul seperti dibawah ini.

Kamu akan mendapatkan tanda bukti pembelian di email kamu, simpan nomor tiket tersebut.

Kamu bisa melakukan pembatalan tanggal 15 Juli 2019 - 28 Juli 2019 (tanpa dipungut biaya).

BAGIAN 1 : Pembuatan Akun Daum (menggunakan akun Kakao)

Pengguna baru akan diwajibkan untuk membuat akun Kakao, kemudian log in dengan akun Kakao kemudian dilanjutkan dengan tahapan-tahapan dibawah ini

1. Pergilah ke alamat daum (klik disini) kemudian klik 회원가입 untuk sign up (mendaftar).

2. Klik ‘I have an email account’ yang telah dilingkari.

3. Centang ‘Agree to All Terms’ kemudian klik ‘Agree’ yang berada paling bawah.

4. Isi alamat email kamu, klik ‘Send Verification Email’ kemudian cek alamat email kamu untuk verifikasi kode, masukkan kode verifikasi di kolom yang disediakan, lalu klik ‘Confirm’; Lengkapi formulir yang ada, (bagian ‘Lunar’ TIDAK perlu di centang) dan klik ‘Next’.

5. Kamu saat ini sudah mendaftarkan akun Kakao menggunakan alamat email kamu sendiri.

6. Pergilah ke halaman mail Daum (klik disini) kemudian klik ‘로그인’ untuk masuk.

7. Kamu akan dilanjutkan ke halaman untuk membuat ID Daum agar dapat mengakses inbox email. Masukkan ID Daum yang kamu inginkan.

8. Selamat! Kamu saat ini sudah memiliki ID Daum!

BAGIAN 2 : Cara Verifikasi Identitas dan Bergabung dalam Fancafe Uaena

Bagian selanjutnya diperuntukkan bagi kalian yang tidak hanya ingin bergabung dalam Fanclub IU, tapi juga ingin bercabung dalam Fancafe online untuk membaca pengumuman dan postingan IU (dalam bahasa Korea).

GUNAKAN MODE DESKTOP!

2A : Cara Verifikasi Identitas

1. Kembali ke halaman awal daum (klik disini) setelah masuk menggunakan akun Kakao, klik nickname kamu untuk ke bagian pengaturan profil.

2. Klik nickname kamu lalu masukkan password.

3. Gunakan nama, tanggal ulang tahun dan jenis kelamin ASLI (HARUS sesuai dengan KTP dan/atau Passport).

4. Saat ini kamu akan melakukan verifikasi identitas. Kembali ke halaman mail Daum (klik disini) lalu klik ‘메일쓰기’ di bagian kiri atas untuk menulis pesan email baru di mail Daum.

UNTUK MEMUDAHKAN LANGKAH SELANJUTNYA, KAMI AKAN MENGGUNAKAN DATA BUATAN SEBAGAI BERIKUT SEBAGAI CONTOH:

5.  Isilah header email dengan ketentuan sebagai berikut:

Kemudian klik “파일 첨부하기 (Attach File)” untuk menautkan File Scan Passport atau KTP dalam bentuk JPG (Saran jika tidak ingin menge-share informasi pribadi: tutupi 7 angka terakhir yang tertera pada passport dan KTP kamu)

6.  Masukkan pada bagian isi pesan sesuai dengan yang dicantumkan dibawah ini, cukup copy-paste dan gantilah kalimat di dalam kurung “()” dengan identitasmu yang sesuai, jangan lupa untuk menuliskan (copy-paste juga) 2 kalimat yang diberi simbol “✓”  agar pihak Daum dapat melihat detail info akun Daum kamu, jika tidak maka mereka tidak akan memeriksa detail akun kamu dan akun Daum kamu tidak akan berhasil terverifikasi.

Keterangan:

Cara mengetahui ID (아이디) DAUM jika lupa (syarat: sudah pernah mendaftar dan Log in ke situs DAUM) adalah dengan cara klik disini, maka akan muncul ID DAUM

Tanggal lahir ditulis dengan format YYYY.MM.DD

Jenis kelamin ditulis dengan 남자 untuk laki-laki dan 여자 untuk perempuan

Nama yang dituliskan sesuai dengan nama di Passport dan KTP

Untuk tahu tanggal berapa kamu melakukan registrasi, bukalah incognito tab atau browser internet yang berbeda dari yang kamu pakai saat ini (Safari/ Google Chrome/ Mozilla Firefox), bukalah www.daum.net kemudian klik ‘아이디 찾기’ dibawah kotak log in di bagian kanan. Klik ‘내 정보에 등록된 이메일로 찾기’ kemudian ketik NAMA LENGKAP kamu yang tertera di profil Daum, dan ketik alamat email kamu. Klik Next dan akan muncul tanggal registrasi akun Daum dalam format YYYY.MM.DD.

Cek kembali apakah kamu sudah melampirkan file scan passport/ KTP kamu. 

7. Kamu akan menerima email konfirmasi seperti ini. Maksudnya adalah mereka telah menerima permintaan kamu. Tunggulah respon mereka dengan sabar (biasanya 1-2 hari). INGAT untuk mengecek kembali!

8. JIKA GAGAL,  kamu akan menerima email balasan yang panjang seperti ini, berarti gambar scan Passport atau KTP kamu kurang jelas atau ada kesalahan dalam memasukkan informasi di email yang kamu kirimkan. Lakukan pengecekan ulang dan kirimkan kembali email kamu (kembali ke nomor 4-6).

9. JIKA BERHASIL, kamu akan menerima email balasan yang pendek seperti ini. Jika kamu kurang yakin apakah proses verifikasi akun kamu sudah berhasi atau belum, lanjut ke tahap selanjutnya untuk mengetahui apakah kamu sudah dapat bergabung dalam Fancafe IU (bukan fansite resmi IU “Uaena Generasi ke-3.

10.  Keluar dari akun kamu dan lanjut untuk log in di Daum (klik disini)

2B : Bergabung dalam Fancafe Uaena

1. Pada halaman utama Fancafe IU (klik disini), klik ‘ 카페 가입하기 ’ di bagian kiri atas.

2.  Identitasmu sudah dikonfirmasi jika email yang kamu kirim sebelumnya (di Cara 2) telah berhasil. Kamu hanya perlu untuk mengisi jawaban pertanyaan “Title song dari album full-length IU yang pertama,” kamu hanya perlu menjawab dengan huruf kapital dalam bahasa Inggris ‘BOO’ kemudian klik ‘확인’ yang diberi tanda merah.

3.  Pada halaman berikutnya, centang kotak yang ada. Lalu:

Untuk ‘닉네임’, isilah dengan nickname (HANYA boleh Bahasa Korea (Hangul), Bahasa Inggris, dan campuran Bahasa Korea-Inggris). *LIHAT CATATAN DIBAWAH!

Untuk ‘수신여부’, centang kotak untuk menerima pemberitahuan email dan pemberitahuan pesan pribadi.

Isi captcha dan klik ‘가입’

Berikut adalah beberapa nickname yang tidak diperbolehkan:

BAGIAN 3 : Cara Menaikkan Level Hingga Menjadi 정회원 (Full Member) di Fancafe

Menjadi Full Member akan membuat kamu mendapat akses board From. IU, akses melihat atau memposting di board Dear. IU, melihat atau memposting sesuatu di board antar fans, chatting langsung dengan fans-fans lain (kadang bahkan dengan IU).

1.  Board ’정회원등업신청 (Application for Full Member)’ akan dibuka setiap Sabtu pukul 00.00 KST sampai Minggu pukul 00.00 malam KST (waktu Indonesia adalah Jumat pukul 22.00 malam WIB sampai Sabtu pukul 22.00 malam WIB), dan hasilnya akan muncul pada hari Senin atau Selasa. Gambar dibawah ini adalah contoh tampilan board, ‘정회원등업신청(7월2주)’ berarti Application for full membership pada minggu ke 2 bulan Juli.

2. Pastikan simbol gembok (lock) telah terkunci sehingga hanya kamu dan staf yang dapat membaca postingan tersebut.

3. Copy-paste informasi dibawah ini dalam masing-masing kotak yang telah disediakan dan ganti bagian yang bercetak tebal.

Kunjungilah Fancafe Resmi IU, http://cafe.daum.net/IU, kemudian klik ‘로그인 (Log In)’ untuk masuk dalam Fancafe. Masukkan akun Kakao (email yang kamu gunakan untuk mendaftarkan akun Kakao) atau ID Daum kamu.

2. Shortcut

로그인하기 (Log In) Jika kamu sudah memiliki Akun Daum dan sudah bergabung dalam Fancafe Uaena (sudah menyelesaikan Bagian 1, 2A dan 2B).

Daum/카페 가입하기 (Sign Up Daum/ Cafe) Jika kamu belum memiliki Akun Daum dan/atau belum melakukan verifikasi identitas (belum menyelesaikan Bagian 1, 2A dan 2B).

카페 가입하기 (Join Fancafe) Jika kamu sudah memiliki Akun Daum, sudah melakukan verifikasi identitas tetapi sudah bergabung dalam Fancafe Uaena (sudah menyelesaikan Bagian 1 dan 2A tetapi belum menyelesaikan bagian 2B).

Klik ‘보내기 (Send/ Kirim)’ untuk mengirimkan undangan.

회원 보기 (View Member/ Lihat Anggota) Hanya berlaku untuk Operator Fancafe.

자주가는카페 추가 (Add as Favorite Cafe/ Tambahkan Sebagai Cafe Favorit) Jika kamu menekan ini, maka Fancafe IU akan masuk dalam daftar Cafe Favorit kamu dan akan muncul saat kamu menekan ‘자주가는 카페 (Favorit Cafe)’ pada bagian Header halaman Fancafe, lihat “A. B. LETTER (SURAT)

From. IU Surat yang ditulis IU kepada para fans. Berisi semua postingan IU di Fancafe, termasuk balasan IU kepada para fans dan selca-selca. IU berkata agar TIDAK me-screenshot postingannya atau memposting ulang konten original dalam Bulletin Board ini diluar Fancafe Uaena. Untuk mencari semua balasan IU pada postingan fans, bukalah postingan From. IU (apa saja) lalu turunlah ke bagian bawah halaman. Pada menu dengan tanda panah, pilih ‘댓글작성자 (pengirim komentar)’ kemudian ketik atau copy-paste ‘아이유’. Klik tombol ‘검색 (cari)’ yang berwarna biru.

[TRANS] 190707 IU’s China Fanclub ‘OnlyU-IU China’ showers IU, her team and Hotel Del Luna staff with love and gifts

It was revealed on July 6 that IU’s China Fanclub ‘OnlyU-IU China’ (@onlyIUcn on twitter) sent a coffee truck, buffet catering service and many gifts to the set of Hotel Del Luna. OnlyIUcn then shared some details of the thoughtful presents that they prepared specially for IU, IU Team and Hotel Del Luna’s staff members.

“As soon as IU confirmed her role in ‘Hotel Del Luna’, our staff members started preparing for this fansupport which took us months of effort. Previously, we predicted that they would kick off the production in April so we prioritised IU’s birthday gift first (in May). Other than organising charity events, we chose GUCCI’s A Kiss from Violet perfumed oil from ‘The Alchemist’s Garden’ collection. This perfumed oil is said to emit the purest, nonirritant and long-lasting scent due to its significantly lower alcohol content as compared to other perfumes. Since this collection has yet to be launched in China, South Korea and Japan, so our Uaenas from ShenZhen travelled to Hong Kong to purchase it for IU. We chose this perfume because it’s violet scented and also symbolises our ‘flying kiss’ to IU.

The second birthday gift was carefully decided after taking Man Wol’s character into consideration, which is Diptyque’s limited edition ‘The Legend of the North’ series’ candles. We purchased Sapin de Lumiere (Pine Tree of Light) (Green) and Baume d’Ambre (Amber Balm) (blue) candles and candlestick to match with Man Wol’s aloof aura ^u^ What’s special about this series is that the candle jar is deigned by HERMES’ scarf designer.

Sapin de Lumiere (Pine Tree of Light) Candle – Green – This is a staple in all Diptyque Christmas candles. It carries the unmistakeable green scent of pine, warmed and evoking crisp air, pine cones and a freshness of pine needles.

The moon rounds the red mansion stoops to silk-pad doors, Shines upon the sleepless Bearing no grudge, Why does the moon tend to be full when people are apart? People may have sorrow or joy, be near or far apart, The moon may be dim or bright, wax or wane, This has been going on since the beginning of time. Note: This is a famous Mid-Autumn lyric written by Sushi(a poet in Song Dynasty) for his brother Zi-you(1039-1112) when the poet was away from the imperial court. According to some commentators, “the palace on high” might allude to the imperial palace and therefore, after reading this lyric, Emperor Song Shen Zong said that Su Shi was loyal.

We started preparing for the buffet since long ago, and we especially requested them to prepare IU’s favourite tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes) and Tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)! We tried to match the decoration with president Man Wol’s extravagant style by adding the golden chairs~ The banners and pictures on table were all specially designed by our art team. 

We also sent a refreshing coffee truck to the set for Man Wol and the HDL team~

No gifts can fully express our support and excitement for Man Wol. So we hope our sincerity can be conveyed by at least a bit! We only wish for our Man Wol to be truly happy!

How was your final concert?

I think my performance today was seriously like a real concert. It was almost a “talk concert”… a half talk show. I honestly thought it would end in 3 hours, but I couldn’t stop talking. I really wanted to enjoy the show. I wanted to enjoy it to the fullest because it was the last concert. Otherwise I would have felt stupid. Not being a professional, but a fool instead. So I did my best to enjoy the concert to the fullest and I did. I liked it. It feels like I’ve achieved something. I did it without an encore and it gave me the feeling that I’ve done something. It means that I was fully satisfied with my actual concert. It also means that me and my fans gave and received something to each other enough.
