unpopular opinion: respectfully, why do ppl have to keep searching and pointing this stuff out? everyone knows theyre together already, i feel like making a point of sharing every interaction like this so annoying, especially when theyāve made it evident they donāt wanna be a krashlyn 2.0ā¦.theyre soccer players ffs not characters in your head you feel like you know. theyāre whole ass people you donāt know at all. they signed up to be soccer players !!!!!
not to be that bitch on tumblr but why do ppl still like kelley ohara š or sonnett or horan š like what is there to like
no ones gonna agree but hear me out.....gym class by lil peep is a reagan and toni song
I think people making excuses for everyone kneeling need to remember that Carli called it a distraction and is now standing. So everyone who is standing has to know they're standing with Carli.
I need people to remember that if.....
Kneeling was done in support of gay people, Oāhara would have kneeled. Kneeling was done in support of Christians, Ertz would have kneeled. Kneeling was done in support of Carli Lloyd, Lloyd would have kneeled.
They are not anti kneeling, they simply donāt care enough to sacrifice their comfort for blm because the problems black people face donāt affect them.
āHow bad womenās football is treated in South America isnāt a secret for anyone, today iām doing this thread in order to inform people about
This is just some of this really important thread describing the terrible state of WoSo in Colombia. Please check it out on twitter and share!
Sarahās right and she should say it.
Look at that, i have two new names for my FUCK YOU list.
the day football federations in latinoamerica start caring about the women's national teams, it's over for everyone else
Just imagine for a second:
Colombia wnt shows up with all its senior players, who've had full staffing and physical training and are coming off a healthy league stretch. The younglings are HYPED UP and ready to show their wunderkind powers
The coach called up players who deserved it, took off the ban for all the players who've spoken out against the federation
Sandra Sepulveda continues to bless us in goal
That's the kind of team the uswnt would be a lil more afraid to play
CONMEBOL would be a force to be reckoned with like it is for the men's game.
šš¼šš¼šš¼šš¼šš¼šš¼šš¼šš¼šš¼šš¼
Also, if you're a fan and you're not aware of the situation of South American National Teams but you're interested about woso let me tell you a few sad facts:
Some of the best South American players right now are being left out of their national teams because they dared to spoke against their federation, the lack of professionalism of their coaches, etc..
Chile's coach Jose Letelier excluded from the National team to Maria Jose Rojas (currently playing the W-League with Adelaide United) because she spoke up about the lack of professionalism the team experienced during the WC (let's remember the coach's wife harassed a player of the team). Rojas is by far the most experienced forward of the team and the one with the most skills too, proving in every team she has played that she has the level to be part of the National Team but the coach literally hates her and won't call her.
A lot of Colombian players have been excluded from their national team for the same reason, for asking better conditions, for speaking up about mistreatment and inequality. Some of these players have been able to play again after being "grounded" (in the coach's words), some of them have undermine their chances of being in the national team because they're catalogued as "troublemakers"
Argentina WNT: Multiple players banned by the coach. Including the figures of the World Cup EstefanĆa Banini, Florencia Bonsegundo, Ruth Bravo. The three of them starters in every match of the WC. Also banned from the team Belen Potassa (one of the legends and veterans) and if I'm not mistaken (someone correct me please) one of the goalkeepers is also being excluded of the National Team. The reason? they wanted to talk with the federation to ask for a new technical staff to keep improving since the current staff is not doing much for the growth of the team.
So... In here.. the coaches have so much power over the players that they can exclude the star of their team and suffer zero consequences...
Conmebol needs to put more attention to all these unfair, abusive situations, and we as fans need to know all of this, and from our little space speak up and support these players, it cannot be possible that 1 stupid coach can have in his hands (yes, his.. almost every South American national team has a male coach) the future and career of a player and undermine it as easily as they do
The abuse and unfairness is disgusting... We could have so much better teams but a bunch of dudes decide they want to keep control and put underneath the carpet whoever who dares to talk about the reality the Conmebol National teams suffer
I want the olympics to happen for very obvious reasons, but also for the content! Think of the stories of them all dressed ridiculously.
If the Olympics happen, I will not be satisfied unless the outfits are extremely ridiculous.
my instinct is to shit on the players who stand because wtf. if i had the option iād be kneeling 100%
the only reason iām hesitant to criticize them is because the WHOLE team has obviously had conversations that we arenāt apart of. weāve seen the outrage from players about other players, like Ash shitting on Hinkle publicly. And just a part of me feels like all the players had honest, deep conversation about their decisions. These arenāt even my like fave players so i donāt believe iām biased, but I rlly believe thereās been conversations about it so everyone knows why Kelley, Carli, Julie, and Lindsey are standing.
Iāve been nervous to say this as well because i donāt want it to come across like iām defending them or i would stand. I 100% would kneel if I was in their position.
I donāt think that youāre defending them so donāt worry. I do think itās important to point out the difference between the two situations.
With Hinkle, she was alone fighting against the likes of Pinoe, Ashlyn, Tobin, Christen, Ali, Kelley and not to mention the gay coach. Even when not out to the public they were what Hinkle was opposing. She was never going to win that fight and those players speaking out against her were way more powerful than Hinkle was.
Right now we have Carli, Kelley, Lindsey and Julie fighting against the likes of Crystal, Christen, Lynn, Midge, Cat, Mal, Sophia etc.. Who do you think holds more power? The white player collective made up of starters and a uswnt legend (or so she is called) or the group of black players mostly made up of young bubble players?
I donāt believe for a single second that every black player in the team has been heard. Keep in mind that asking a black player for her opinion during a team meeting and her actually being allowed to speak her mind are two different things. Also, Crystal telling Julie to fuck off is very different from Ashlyn telling Hinkle to fuck off simply because of the personal relationship that already exists.
Lastly i want to point out that this should NEVER be a discussion. As long as white players need black players to tell them they are being ignorant or racist nothing is going to change. Carli, Julie, Kelley and Lindsey (in the most positive scenario of them having honest conversations) are still expecting players like Crystal to tell them they are hurting her. They somehow canāt recognize by themselves what is right and what is wrong, they need a black player to tell them that.
And that is Crystal, a strong black woman with a solid roster spot. Now letās give the mic to 20 year old Sophia and have her explain to Carli Lloyd why what she is doing is hurtful, you see that happening?
the day football federations in latinoamerica start caring about the women's national teams, it's over for everyone else
Can we appreciate Sandra Sepulveda, The Colombian GK whoās having one hell of a match?
The USA has had 11 goal attempts and sheās made 6 direct saves. š¤©
I was about to post about her. 32 years old and saving Colombia for 10 years already. She is having a tremendous match despite the struggle the whole Colombian team is having. Playing against the USWNT is never easy but so far, Sandra had couple great saves.
The selfishness, and violence honestly, of these white players to say that the team is āsupportingā each other when their actions (and inactions) leave Black supporters feeling this way...Iām livid.
Really?!?! Iām so disappointed in them....
Funny thing about this is the fans are still gonna fuck with them after this
Normalcy for Carli Lloyd is to walk back into a welcoming environment in which she is supported no matter what she does or says.
Normalcy for black players is to walk back into an environment in which they have to explain to white players that they should have the right to live.
